Bidding Open For Fasig-Tipton December Digital Sale, Includes 300 Plus Entries

Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 308 entries for its December Digital Sale, which is now open through Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m ET, the auction house said in a release Thursday.

The catalogue, which is the largest ever offered on the Fasig-Tipton Digital platform, features more than 170 broodmares, as well as broodmare prospects, horses of racing age, yearlings and weanlings.

The catalogue also includes a stallion share and lifetime breeding right in MGSW Flameaway (Scat Daddy), who is the current co-leading North American first-crop sire by black-type winners.

“This is by far our largest digital sale to date and shows the remarkable growth and traction that Fasig Digital has gained with sellers in just 21 months,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton Director of Digital Sales.  “With the strength of this catalogue, it is essential for buyers to work through this sale as seriously as they would any live auction.”

Covering sires include Bolt d'Oro, Corniche, Early Voting, Essential Quality, Golden Pal, Jack Christopher, Jackie's Warrior, Liam's Map, Mandaloun, Maxfield, Mitole, Mo Donegal, Mystic Guide, Omaha Beach, Practical Joke, Street Sense, Tapit, Twirling Candy, Union Rags, Upstart, Violence, War of Will and Yaupon.

Sires of yearlings include Maclean's Music, Medaglia d'Oro, Nyquist, Twirling Candy, Union Rags and Vino Rosso.

Weanling sires include Authentic, Hard Spun, Not This Time, Omaha Beach, and Vino Rosso.

The catalogue features offerings located in Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Ontario, Canada.

“We have offerings at all price ranges that suit a wide variety of regional programs,” said Aaron. “December Digital also provides the last opportunity for those that need to buy before the end of the year for tax purposes.”

Bidding Open For Fasig-Tipton August Digital Sale

Bidding opened Thursday, Aug. 24 at Noon (ET) and closes Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. (ET) for the Fasig-Tipton August Digital Sale, the organization said in a release Thursday.

The catalogue features 146 horses of racing age, breeding stock, yearlings and weanlings. The offerings are located in 14 states, as well as Ontario, Canada.

“This is our largest digital sale to date since launching the platform in March of 2022,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton Director of Digital Sales. “We have a particularly strong group of racehorses, as this sale works well as an outlet for stables as the summer race meets draw to a close.  We are also pleased to welcome several new consignors to the platform, which demonstrates the increasing popularity of Fasig-Tipton Digital.”

Entries include:

  • More than 50 horses of racing age, including stakes and graded stakes performers, as well as maiden, allowance, stakes, and claiming level horses. Several prominent racing stables are represented, including 14 entries from DJ Stable.
  • More than 50 broodmares, including mares in foal to Good Magic, Dialed In, McKinzie and War of Will.
  • Broodmare prospects by Arrogate, Curlin, Gun Runner, Empire Maker, Munnings, More Than Ready and Nyquist.

1/2 to Forte’s Dam Tops Fasig-Tipton April Digital Sale

Stakes-placed K P Slickem (Hip 3), a half-sister to the dam of champion and recent GI Florida Derby winner Forte (Violence), sold for $400,000 to Champion Equine to top the April Digital Sale, which closed Tuesday afternoon.

Offered in foal to MGISW Raging Bull (Fr) by Mulholland Farm, agent, K P Slickem hails from the immediate family of champions Essential Quality and Folklore and Japanese Triple Crown winner Contrail.

Heavenly Hill (Hip 6), accounted for the second highest price of the day when sold for $250,000 to Alex Payne, agent for Angela Ingenito, from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. The multiple graded stakes placed City Zip mare was offered in foal to Not This Time.

“The Fasig-Tipton Digital Auction platform continues to pick up steam,” said Leif Aaron, Director of Digital Sales. “We are selling horses at all levels of the market. We are still learning what appeals to buyers at certain times of year and what doesn't–and that's ok.”

“We look forward to building on our successful 2023 sales as we look ahead to our May Digital Sale,” added Aaron. “Nominations are open.”

In total, 19 horses sold for $938,000, an average of $57,900. Two-hundred-fifty users registered to bid on the catalogued offerings.
