CARTUCHO (Gun Runner) tied for the ninth highest return during the 2022 Keeneland September Sale when selling to bloodstock agent Mike Ryan for $1.2 million. The debuting bay colt's ownership group includes his breeder Three Chimneys Farm, William H. Lawrence and Walmac Farm. He is trained by Chad Brown.

Cartucho is out of GISW Malibu Prayer (Malibu Moon). She was a $2 million 2011 Keeneland November purchase for Besilu, who also acquired her dam–SW Grand Prayer (Grand Slam)–at the same sale for $1 million. Grand Prayer produced MGSW Valid (Medaglia d'Oro). TJCIS PPS

Medaglia d’Oro’s Our Pretty Woman Stays Unbeaten in Fair Grounds Slop

5th-Fair Grounds, $65,000, Alw, 2-17, (NW2L), 3yo, f, 1 1/16m, 1:45.03, sy, 4 1/4 lengths.

OUR PRETTY WOMAN (f, 3, Medaglia d'Oro–Dazzletown, by Speightstown) debuted in the slop Jan. 18 over this track in a driving 3 1/4-length win at a mile and 70 yards. The $900,000 Keeneland September buy duplicated that debut Saturday in nearly a carbon copy effort of that initial win to remain unbeaten in two tries. Breaking from the outside spot as the 9-5 choice, Our Pretty Woman cleared the field and angled to the rail to set a :24.39 first quarter with ears flicking back and forth while Joel Rosario kept her on a loose rein. Unthreatened while posting a :48.95 half, the dark bay sophomore repulsed a mild challenge on the turn, was briefly roused by Rosario into the lane, and sauntered home a clear 4 1/4-length winner over Standoutsensation (Take Charge Indy). The winner's dam hails from the same family as two-time Canadian champion Roxy Gap (Indian Charlie) and has a 2-year-old colt by Bolt d'Oro who sold to Mayberry Farm for $270,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale. Into Mischief Colt Takes Command Late Over Gulfstream Allowance Types

7th-Gulfstream, $72,000, Alw (NW1X)/Opt. Clm ($75,000), 1-5, 3yo, 1 1/16m, 1:44.55, ft, neck.
CHANGE OF COMMAND (c, 3, Into Mischief–Moi, by Medaglia d'Oro) made steady improvement over a trio of maiden attempts during the NYRA meets starting in late August–the last coming with a runner-up result at Aqueduct Nov. 4. Heading to Gulfstream, the bay found his stride to graduate by 6 1/2 lengths Dec. 17. Trying two turns for the first time, the 11-10 choice paced himself into the first turn just off of Cardinale (Speightstown). Shadowing the leader, the 3-year-old was given his cue at the three-eighths marker and took over the top spot. Cardinale proved a stubborn foe and the pair locked in a stretch battle, but it was Change of Command who gained the advantage in the shadow of the wire and won by a neck. “When that horse came back to him, he kind of went on from there,” Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey said. “As you saw around the turn, it looked like he was going to win by himself, and he did that the last time a little bit. He didn't want to finish as well as I'd like. I've got to do some work to figure things out. I hope this moves him forward. He had to kind of belly down and run, so that should help him. We'll take him back to Payson [Park] and find out.” Tied for the 12th highest price during the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, the winner is his dam's first to the races. The colt does have a 2-year-old half-sister by Instilled Regard and a yearling half-brother by Instagrand. A $750,000 purchase by OXO Equine at the 2016 Keeneland September Sale, Moi is a full-sister to Mrs McDougal (Medgalia d'Oro), the dam of GII Twilight Derby hero Seal Team (GB) (WarFront). ‘TDN Rising Star’ Coach Prime High Steps Into Los Alamitos Futurity

Trainer Bob Baffert won seven consecutive editions of the GII Los Alamitos Futurity until that streak ended two years ago. The Hall of Famer will have half the field when Wynstock (Solomini), Coach Prime (Quality Road) and GSP Wine Me Up (Vino Rosso) line up for his barn on Saturday.

Coach Prime was a $1.7 million Keeneland September yearling, and began to pay back owner Zedan last out with a 7 1/4-length win at Del Mar Nov. 10, earning him the status of 'TDN Rising Star'.

As for his stablemates, Wynstock broke his maiden by roughly the same margin as Coach Prime in what was his third attempt Oct. 15 at Santa Anita. While Wine Me Up returns after finishing second in the GI American Pharoah S. and then running eighth in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile, both at Santa Anita.

Last year, trainer Tim Yakteen won the Futurity with Practical Move (Practical Joke) and he is back again, this time with debut winner Moonlit Sonata (Malibu Moon). The bay colt came from off the pace to win by 2 1/2 lengths at Del Mar Nov. 25.

Rounding out the field is Doug O'Neill trainee Ace of Clubs (Mor Spirit) and Stronghold (Ghostzapper). The latter is a homebred trained by Phil D'Amato who was a well-beaten runner-up to 'TDN Rising Star' Nysos (Nyquist) in the GIII Bob Hope S. at the seaside oval Nov. 19.
