Gulfstream: Friday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed At $400,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $400,000 Friday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the fifth consecutive racing day Wednesday, when multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $39.62 for a sequence that included two 'all' races.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Defending Spring/Summer Meet champion Edgard Zayas added three more wins to his meet-leading total at Gulfstream Park Wednesday with a natural hat trick. Zayas scored aboard Nothin But Net ($5.20) in Race 5, Bourbon in May ($7.40) in Race 6 and R Mercedes Boy ($8.40) in Race 7.

Zayas has been victorious on each of the past eight racing programs at Gulfstream while notching seven multi-win performances.

Zayas holds a 75-63 lead over Emisael Jaramillo, who doubled aboard Special Inclusion ($3.60) in Race 2 and Bahamian Beat ($3.20) in Race 8 Wednesday.

Jockey Angel Stanley, who was unseated from his mount in Race 5, was taken to Aventura Hospital for evaluation after reporting back pain.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Pool At Gulfstream Guaranteed At $250,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $250,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Friday for the third consecutive racing day since last Saturday's mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $6,659.46 Friday.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12. A full field of maiden claimers will kick off the sequence in a five-furlong turf dash in Race 7 before stakes-placed Sweetheart Deal will try to improve on her second-place finish in her recent 2020 debut in an optional claiming allowance in Race 8. Todd Pletcher-trained Kokomo, a daughter of Uncle Mo who broke her maiden over the Gulfstream turf in her 2019 finale, will make her second start of the year in Race 9, a mile optional claiming allowance on turf, after finishing third in an off-the-turf optional claiming allowance last month.

Race 10 will feature Florida-breds, including Bob Hess Jr.-trained Silvery Enough, who will seek his third straight victory in the six-furlong optional claiming allowance. The Rainbow 6 sequence will be closed out by a 1 1/16-mile optional claiming allowance on turf in Race 11, in which On a Spree will seek his third-straight victory for trainer Juan Arriagada, and a $30,000 claiming race at six furlongs in Race 12, in which Win With Pride will make his second start for Pletcher since being claimed by Repole Stables.

Sunday’s Belmont Card To Feature Mandatory Payout Of Empire 6 Jackpot Wager

Sunday's nine-race card at Belmont Park will feature a mandatory payout of the Empire 6, which boasts a jackpot of $154,928 heading into Friday's Belmont card.

Live coverage of all the races in the sequence are available with America's Day at the Races on FOX Sports and MSG+. Free Equibase-provided past performances are available for races that are part of the America's Day at the Races broadcast and can be accessed at https://www.nyra.com/belmont/racing/tv-schedule.

Following Saturday's Belmont Stakes Day card, which offers six graded stakes, highlighted by the 152nd running of the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes, the action will continue at Belmont Park on Sunday.

The Empire 6 sequence will commence with Race 4 at 2:54 p.m. Eastern, a claiming race for 3-year-olds and up going one mile on the main track.

Race 5 will see a six-furlong inner turf sprint for 3-year-olds and up with an approximate post time of 3:29 p.m. In Race 6, a field of nine sophomore fillies will get their turn in a maiden claiming turf mile.

Sophomore fillies will look to sprint to success in Race 7 at 4:34 p.m., a six-furlong claiming race over Belmont's Big Sandy.

The sequence's penultimate race will be the Empire 6's lone stakes. A full field of 10 3-year-old fillies will compete over six furlongs on the inner turf in $80,000 Lady Shipman, with Race 8 going off at 5:05 p.m. Stoneway Farm's Cofactor will make both her seasonal and turf debut, entering off a six-month layoff for trainer Kelly Breen. Trainer Christophe Clement will saddle two fillies for the Lady Shipman in stakes-winner She's My Type and Notorious R B G.

A 1 1/16-mile grass route on the Widener turf featuring a full field of New York-bred maidens in the Race 9 finale at 5:36 p.m. will conclude the sequence.

The Empire 6 requires the bettor to select the first-place finisher of the final six races of the card. On non-mandatory payout days, if one unique ticket exists, then 100 percent of the net pool, plus the jackpot carryover if applicable, will be paid to the winner. If there is no unique wager selecting the first-place finisher in all six races, then 75 percent of the day's net pool will be distributed to those who selected the first-place finisher in the greatest number of races. The remainder will be added into the jackpot and carried to the next day's Empire 6.
