Gulfstream Park: Sunday’s Rainbow 6 To Have $700,000 Guaranteed Jackpot

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $700,000 Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the fifth racing day in a row following last Saturday's mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $2,211.72 Saturday.

The jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11 with three being contested on the turf.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $7,062.85 heading not Sunday's program.

WHO'S HOT: Jose Ortiz rode Last Judgement ($7.60) to a dominating score in the $75,000 Sunshine Classic in Race 9 after guiding Heart of God ($17.80) in Race 5.

Paco Lopez rode two winners, including Bienville Street ($18) in Race 8, the $75,000 Sunshine Filly & Mare Turf, and Between Dreams ($8.40) in Race 2.

Miguel Vasquez doubled aboard Friendly Fella ($6) in Race 3 before capturing the $75,000 Sunshine Sprint aboard Cajun Brother ($31.60) in Race 10.

Edgard Zayas rode bookend victories, scoring aboard Positive Skew ($19.80) in Race 1 Keep Quiet ($15.60) in Race 12.

Santa Anita: Cal Cup Day To Have $1-Million Jackpot Guarantee In Single Ticket Rainbow Pick 6

Santa Anita Park has announced it will guarantee a $1-million Jackpot pool in Saturday's 20-cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick 6.  Saturday is California Cup Day at at the Arcadia, Calif, track, with special early first post time for a 10-race card at 12 noon PT.

The Rainbow Six will be comprised of races five through 10, with assigned post time for race five at 2:02 p.m. PT.  With 66 horses entered and eligible to run in the sequence, average field size for Saturday's Rainbow Six is 11 runners per race.

Friday's Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six went unsolved, with eight consolation tickets with six winners returning $7,439.90 each.

The Rainbow Six Jackpot pool is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners.  On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding consolation tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the Jackpot pool.

Saturday's $1-million Jackpot pool guarantee will apply to Cal Cup Day only.

Gulfstream Guarantees Friday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot At $400,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $400,000 Friday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the third racing day in a row following Saturday's mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $1,033.46 Thursday.

The jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Thursday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, including a well-stocked maiden special weight race for 4-year-olds and up in Race 6. Perennial Championship Meet training titlist Todd Pletcher is scheduled to saddle a pair of starters, including Nocturnal, who has been idle since finishing second behind stablemate Dr Post in his debut March 29 at Gulfstream. Dr. Post went on to win the Unbridled Stakes at Gulfstream before finishing second in the Belmont Stakes (G1) and third in the Haskell (G1) at Monmouth.

Pletcher is also slated to saddle Bold Agenda, a son of Candy Ride who was bought at auction for $700,000, for his debut in the mile race. Chad Brown-trained Brazillionaire, a son of Candy Ride that cost $875,000 at auction, is set for his second start and first race with blinkers after a late-fade sixth in his debut at Churchill.

WHO'S HOT: Two-time defending Championship Meet titlist Irad Ortiz Jr. rode two winners Thursday, scoring with back-to-back winners Hero Tiger ($4.20) in Race 6 and Don't Get Khozy ($4.20) in Race 7.

Paco Lopez doubled aboard First Investor ($28.40) in Race 1 and Monte Ne ($6.40) in Race 4. Tyler Gaffalione also made a pair of visits to the winner's circle after scoring aboard Elliereeseaston ($4.60) in Race 5 and Tropicat ($18) in Race 8.
