Wertheimer and Frere's undefeated Grade I winner HAPPY SAVER (Super Saver) is slated to make his first start since October in this one-mile allowance/optional claiming affair early on Friday's card at Belmont. Debuting last June with a powerful 5 1/2-length score going seven local furlongs that earned 'TDN Rising Star' honors. Repeating with a four-length success when stretched out to two turns at Saratoga, the homebred passed his first stakes test in annexing the Federico Tesio S. at Laurel. Eschewing a try at the GI Preakness S. to take on older horses in the GI Jockey Club Gold Cup, the chestnut earned a hard-fought victory over subsequent G1 Dubai World Cup hero Mystic Guide (Ghostzapper). Trainer Todd Pletcher decided not to try the colt in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic and instead prepare him for a 4-year-old campaign, and Happy Saver shows a half-dozen breezes split evenly between Palm Beach Downs and Saratoga, most recently going five furlongs in 1:01 3/5 (3/13) May 21 at the Spa. Sunday Insights: Seven-Figure Colt Gets Going at Santa Anita

Sponsored by Alex Nichols Agency

6th-SA, $61K, Msw, 3yo/up, 1m, post time: 6:50 p.m. ET
Dixiana Farms-bred AMERICAN ADMIRAL (American Pharoah) was purchased by Hunter Valley Farm for $340,000 at Keeneland November in 2018 and fetched $1.3 million from Jamie McCalmont on behalf of M.V. Magnier and Sarah Kelly at KEESEP the following fall. That price was the richest of 70 of his sire's second-crop yearlings to sell in 2019, bar the sales-topping $8.2 million Mandy Pope paid for the half-sister to Beholder (Henny Hughes) and Into Mischief (Harlan's Holiday). The colt's stakes-winning second dam Alchemilla (Deputy Minister) was a daughter of champion Althea's full-sister Aquilegia (Alydar), whose produce include GSW & MGISP Bertolini (Danzig) and SW Amelia (Dixieland Band), dam of GSWs Rabbit Run (Tapit) and Asakusa Genki (Stormy Atlantic); MGSW & GISP Rainha da Bateria (Broken Vow); GSW & GISP Kindergarden Kid (Dynaformer); GSW Assateague (Stormy Atlantic); and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile runner-up He's Had Enough (Tapit). Glen Hill Debuts Cleverly Named Filly at GP…

Glen Hill Farm's Craig Bernick is also a member of the board of directors for the Thoroughbred Idea Foundation, an organization that champions issues of importance to the Thoroughbred industry. Several months ago, TIF proposed the idea of making information, such as past performances, available to the betting public at no cost, and the aptly named FREE DATA (War Front) makes her first trip to the races Sunday. The gray filly is a daughter of former 'TDN Rising Star' Cassatt (Tapit), winner during her racing days of the GIII Monmouth Oaks before being purchased by Bernick's Elevage for $2.5 million in foal to Curlin at the 2016 Fasig–Tipton November sale. Free Data's third dam, MSW Justenuffheart (Broad Brush), was a half-sister to Kitten's Joy (El Prado {Ire}) and produced champion Dreaming of Anna (Rahy), the dam of GSW Dreamologist (Tapit), the late GISP Fast Anna (Medaglia d'Oro) and SP Big Dreaming (Declaration of War); GSW Lewis Michael (Rahy); and MGSW & GISP Justenuffhumor (Distorted Humor). ANNA AND MIA (Cupid) becomes the first starter for her Grade I-winning sire and is out of a stakes-winning full-sister to MSP Breathethefire (Valid Expectations). The deeper female family also includes the flashy MGSW/GISP Phantom On tour (Tour d'Or). A $50K purchase at Fasig-Tipton February in early 2020, the February foal fetched $45K at FTKOCT in the fall and was most recently hammered down for $160K at the OBS March Sale after breezing an eighth of a mile in a joint-fastest :9 4/5. She debuts against fellow firsters Topsy Turvy (Constitution), a full-sister to dual Ohio-bred SW and GSP Alexandria; and Tizplenty (Speightstown), a half-sister to MGSW & GISP Mr. Money (Goldencents). The bay was last seen running on for second in the GIII Ontario Derby back on the main track Nov. 21. TJCIS PPs

Saturday Insights: Another Tatts Purchase For Klaravich, Brown

Sponsored by Alex Nichols Agency
8th-BEL, $90K, Msw, 3/up, f/m, 1 1/16mT, post time: 4:38 p.m.
Seth Klarman's Klaravich Stables has successfully shopped the Tattersalls October sale over the past several years, using the services of Mike Ryan to acquire MGISWs Domestic Spending (GB) (Kingman {GB}) and Newspaperofrecord (Ire) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) and GISW Digital Age (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}). INFINITE POTENTIAL (IRE) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) was purchased by Ryan for 300,000gns at the 2018 October sale, a handful of months after her half-sister Ejtyah (GB) (Frankel {GB}) finished third in the G3 Tattersalls Musidora S. at York. Infinite Potential's granddam, 1999 G1 Prix de Diane heroine Daryaba (Ire) (Night Shift), produced five winners from 10 to race, including G1 Hong Kong Vase winner Daryakana (Fr) (Selkirk), in turn the dam of French highweight and G1SW Dariyan (Fr) (Shamardal) and Devamani (Fr) (Dubawi {Ire}), winner of the GII Knickerbocker S. for Brown last October. Half-Million Dollar Son of Champion Hillaby Debuts…
4th-GP, $47K, Msw, 3yo, 7 1/2fT, post time: 1:49 p.m. ET
Stonestreet Stable & Harrell Ventures' DUTCH TEDDY (Medaglia d'Oro) is the second foal out of Hillaby (Distorted Humor), a two-time winner from four stars for Eugene Melnyk before selling to Stonestreet for $500K as part of the owner's dispersal at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Horses of Racing Age Sale. The daughter of Melnyk's Canadian Horse of the Year/Ch. 3yo Filly/Ch. Grass Mare Sealy Hill (Point Given) added a pair of victories in the Stonestreet colors, securing a Sovereign Award with a tally in the 2014 GII Bessarabian S. Dutch Teddy is bred on the exact same cross as MGISWs Elate and New Money Honey as well as current Hong Kong standout and MG1SW Golden Sixty (Aus). TJCIS PPs

Well-Pedigreed Firster Can Make a 'Splash'…
7th-GP, $47K, Msw, 3yo/up, 6f, post time: 3:27 p.m. ET
SPLASHTOWN (Speightstown) is likely worth a great deal more than the $300,000 agent Frankie Brothers paid for the colt on behalf of Starlight Racing at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale. The bay colt's year-older half-sister was still about five months away from having her first career start at that point, but it's been nothing but blue skies since for 'TDN Rising Star' Gamine (Into Mischief), the reigning champion female sprinter who made last weekend's Derby City Distaff S. the fourth Grade I success of her career. Stonestreet has since bought back into Splashtown, who will have to work out a trip from the widest gate in a field of 11. He enters off a bullet five-furlong move at Palm Beach Downs in 1:01 1/5 May 1. TJCIS PPs
