A Winchell Thoroughbreds/Steve Asmussen coupled entry receive a tepid 3-1 morning line nod in this salty looking special weight. Totalizer (Candy Ride {Arg}) is out of GSP Taxable (Tapit) from the family of GI Kentucky Oaks heroine Summerly (Summer Squall). Chileno (Gun Runner), co-owned with co-breeder Three Chimneys, was a $375,000 Keeneland September yearling. His MG1SW dam Wapi (Chi) (Scat Daddy) was Chile's champion 3-year-old filly of 2016. Wapi's now 3-year-old Curlin colt, who remains unraced, was the $1.5-million co-topper at FTSAUG '19. This same team campaigned Horse of the Year and promising freshman sire Gun Runner.

Dale Romans also has two runners. Officer Nick (Frosted), a $225,000 KEESEP yearling, is out of a full-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic heroine Unrivaled Belle (Unbridled's Song), who in turn produced brilliant champion Unique Bella (Tapit). Romans's other representative Southern Sense (Street Sense) cost $65,000 at the same auction, and is out of a half-sister to Mutakddim from a super deep female family.

Almuahed (Candy Ride {Arg}) was a $110,000 KEESEP RNA turned $180,000 OBS April grad off a :21 3/5 breeze. His second dam is GISW Dream of Summer (Siberian Summer), making his dam a half to highest-level winners Creative Cause (Giant's Causeway) and Vexatious (Giant's Causeway) as well as GII Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby hero Destin (Giant's Causeway).

Condemn (Medaglia d'Oro) is from a typically deep family developed by his owner/breeders Adele Dilschneider and Claiborne Farm. The colt's second dam is MGSW/MGISP Cheery (Distorted Humor), the dam of two-turn MGISW Elate (Medaglia d'Oro). TJCIS PPs

Robert and Lawana Low's Uninvited Guest (Distorted Humor) was a $400,000 Keeneland September yearling out of SW and GSP Interrupted (Broken Vow), who is a half to 2019 GI TVG Pacific Classic S. hero Higher Power (Medaglia d'Oro) and MGSW sire Alternation (Distorted Humor). Summer Wind Equine paid $575,000 for Interrupted at the 2018 Keeneland November sale while she was carrying Uninvited Guest. Down Cold (Mastery) is half to speedy GI Breeders' Cup Sprint and G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen winner Secret Circle (Eddington). He was a $35,000 Keeneland September yearling turned $125,000 OBS April juvenile following a steady :10 2/5 breeze with a solid gallop out. Fight Your Corner (Frosted) went for $15,000 last September and $55,000 this March (:10 1/5). His dam is a half to graded winners Salute the Sarge (Forest Wildcat) and Chelokee (Cherokee Run). Saturday Insights: Expensive OBS March Grads Square Off

A pair of stablemates acquired about three hours apart at this year's OBS March Sale face off Saturday at Santa Anita. EDA (Munnings), bred by one of the sire's most fervent supporters Nate McCauley, was knocked down for $240K as a Keeneland September yearling last fall and was snapped up by Susan and Charles Chu's Baoma Corp. for $550K in Ocala after breezing an eighth of a mile in :10 flat. The April 5 foal is out of a winning half-sister to Aegean (Northern Afleet), a Wesley Ward-trained speedster who won her first two career starts, including a defeat of the boys in the GIII Kentucky Juvenile S. Eda was the most expensive of her sire's 18 juveniles sold this season. Censorship (Tonalist) is the latest produce out of SW & GSP La Grange (Curlin), the dam of MGP Whiskey Bound (Afleet Alex) and a half-sister to MSP Magic D'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro) and to the dam of MSW & GSP Wendell Fong (Flat Out) and MSW Ruffenuff (Dialed In). Sold for just $10K at KEESEP, she also covered her furlong in :10 flat and fetched $300K from owners Pegram, Watson & Weitman, the priciest of nine Tonalist juveniles reported as sold this winter and spring. PATHETIQUE (Uncle Mo) cost Rigney Racing $450K at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale and is the first produce from Dothraki Queen (Pure Prize), who won the 2015 GII Pocahontas S. over this main track before finishing second in the GI Darley Alcibiades S. and a longshot third to Songbird (Medaglia d'Oro) in that year's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Keeneland. Dothraki Queen was scooped up by China Horse Club International for $950K at FTKNOV in 2016. Pathetique hails from the female family of GI Kentucky Oaks winner Blushing K. D. (Blushing John), GSW/GISP Sovereign Award winner Ambitious Cat (Storm Cat), Hong Kong Horse of the Year Electronic Unicorn (Housebuster) and SW February Storm (Storm Cat). TJCIS PPs

June 18 Insights: Dr. Schivel Returns at Santa Anita

DR. SCHIVEL (Violence), a Grade I winner at two, will make his sophomore debut in this allowance/optional claimer sprint Friday at Santa Anita. Placing in a pair of tries to start his career with Beyers of only 57 and 52, the bay jumped way forward with an 86 when romping to a 5 3/4-length graduation last August at Del Mar, a race that included three next-out winners as well as future Grade II victor Spielberg (Union Rags). Bought into by Rancho Temescal and Red Baron's Barn after that effort, he was backed to 7-5 in the GI Runhappy Del Mar Futurity and obliged with a 1 3/4-length success. Transferred from the Luis Mendez barn to Mark Glatt since, Dr. Schivel drew the rail against four rivals in here and shows a lengthy local worktab, highlighted by a five-furlong spin in :59 2/5 (4/61) June 5. June 3 Insights: Following Sea Goes First Out for Pletcher at Belmont

Spendthrift Farm made waves when it announced, following the failed drug test of GI Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit (Protonico), that it would be moving some horses out of trainer Bob Baffert's barn. One of the most intriguing of those horses, 'TDN Rising Star' FOLLOWING SEA (Runhappy), will make his first start for the Todd Pletcher barn in this first-level allowance sprint early on Thursday's card. Unveiled at 9-10 Mar. 6 at Santa Anita, the homebred finished second and was later demoted to third for causing crowding early in the race. Shipped to Oaklawn for his next engagement Apr. 10, the bay dueled through a sizzling opening quarter, shook clear on the turn and never looked back, winning geared down by 5 3/4 lengths with a 97 Beyer. Since being sent to Pletcher, Following Sea shows a pair of sharp local works, including a half-mile bullet in :48 flat (1/78) over the training track May 28. His main competition on paper comes from another 'Rising Star' in Klaravich Stables' returning Reinvestment Risk (Upstart). Debuting with an impressive 7 3/4-length romp against a live-looking Saratoga maiden group last August, the $280,000 OBS March buy was runner-up to Jackie's Warrior (Maclean's Music) in both the GI Runhappy Hopeful S. and GI Champagne S. before closing his juvenile campaign with a disappointing 10th-place run in the GI TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Courtlandt Farms went to $975,000 to secure AMERICAN PARADE (American Pharoah) at the 2019 Keeneland September Sale and the sophomore filly will make her career debut in this promising maiden heat Thursday at Belmont. The first foal out of her dam, a half-sister to Stage Magic (Ghostzapper), the dam of Triple Crown winner Justify (Scat Daddy), she displays six Belmont breezes for trainer Shug McGaughey, punctuated by a four-furlong bullet in :47 1/5 (1/7) May 18. Made a narrow favorite on the morning line is another firster, My Racehorse and Spendthrift Farm's Lady Valentine (Into Mischief), who will break from the rail for Todd Pletcher following a sharp Saratoga worktab. Bought for $385,000 at KEESEP, she recorded a pair of :47 3/5 half-mile bullets at the Spa–a best-of-35 move May 7 and a best-of-20 move from the gate 13 days later. Her second dam is a half-sister to the late GISW and influential sire Pioneerof the Nile (Empire Maker). Also opening her account is Klaravich Stables' Equal Pay (Qualty Road). Herself a $475,000 KEESEP pickup, the Chad Brown pupil breezed a half-mile from the gate over this track in :48 3/5 (6/45) May 16. Of the horses with experience, After the Party (Into Mischief) stands a big chance. Yet another pricey KEESEP buy at $750,000, the Jeremiah Englehart charge was a solid third in her debut after dueling with next-out 'TDN Rising Star' Always Carina (Malibu Moon) debuting in the Aqueduct mud Apr. 11.
