Indiana Thoroughbred Owners And Breeders Seeking Executive Secretary

The Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is currently seeking a new executive secretary.

This individual will report directly to the ITOBA president and board of directors and will handle all administrative duties. ITOBA is looking for a highly motivated and committed individual who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, is able to prioritize and quickly adapt to change, who can work independently, as well as part of a team, who has a collaborative approach, and who exercises effective problem solving and decision- making skills.

In addition to their administrative duties, the executive secretary will be charged with organizing various association events, such as – Annual Awards Banquet, Champions Day, ITOBA Stakes Day, ITOBA Sale and ITOBA Stallion Service Auction. This role is considered part-time, but workload will fluctuate based on busy seasons and future projects.

Some of the Indiana Thoroughbred industry's best are being offered during the 2021 Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Fall Mixed Sale on Saturday, Oct. 16 in the Receiving Barn at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino.

Consignor Elise Kendall is offering a registered Indiana-bred filly by Grade 1 winner Palace and out of the stakes-placing producer Bring Me Luck during the sale as Hip 61. The bay filly features a well-balanced build and a strong hip.

Grade 1 Forego Stakes winner Palace is a winner of more than $1,586,000 in his lifetime and is the sire of three crops of racing-age foals, all of which earning a total of $2,857,768.

Bring Me Luck has foaled nine horses of racing age, eight of which are money earners, averaging $115,950. The mare's 2010 foal by A.P. Cino (Indy Wind) was a multiple stakes placed runner, earning $427,555.

Indiana Fall Mixed Sale Catalog Now Online

The catalog for the 2021 Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Fall Mixed Sale is now online, with 78 horses on offer.

The auction will take place Oct. 16 at the Indiana Grand receiving barn in Shelbyville, Ind., beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern.

This year's auction includes 66 yearlings, five weanlings, four broodmares, and two juveniles. All but one of the yearlings on offer are Indiana-bred, Indiana-sired, or both.

Stallions whose first crops of yearlings are included in the catalog include Bucchero, Forever d'Oro, Neck 'n Neck, and Slope.
