Mor Spirit displayed speed and consistency on the racetrack, and he will look to instill both into his first crop of foals, born earlier this year.

On this week's episode of In The Stud, we head out to Spendthrift Farm to speak with Mark Toothaker about multiple Grade 1 winner Mor Spirit, the stallion's physical, and the parts of his family tree that are getting hot at the right time. We also get a special appearance from trainer Bob Baffert, who conditioned Mor Spirit, to go into more detail about how the stallion is put together.

Mor Spirit, a son of Eskendereya, won six of 14 starts during his on-track career for earnings of $1,668,400. He displayed his elite form early on, winning the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity as a juvenile. Then, he proved his mettle against the handicap division at age four with a score in the G1 Metropolitan Handicap. Between those two efforts, he notched victories in the G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes and G3 Steve Sexton Mile Stakes.

Mor Spirit is out of the Grade 3-placed stakes-winning Dixie Union mare Ima Dixie Girl. His extended family includes champion Stellar Wind, Grade 1 winner Great Hunter and multiple Grade 3 winner Owendale.

Winning the Kentucky Derby is the kind of accomplishment that speaks for itself on a stallion's resume, but WinStar Farm's Always Dreaming has plenty else to say with his record.

On this week's episode of In The Stud, we speak with WinStar's Liam O'Rourke about the 2017 Derby winner whose first foals are weanlings of 2020, and we cover the influences that shine through from the top and bottom of the stallion's page.

A 6-year-old son of Bodemeister, Always Dreaming gained notoriety on the Triple Crown trail with a five-length victory in the Grade 1 Florida Derby. That effort sent him off as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby, where he drew clear to prevail by 2 3/4 lengths. He retired with four wins in 11 starts for earnings of $2,415,860.

Always Dreaming is out of the Grade 3-winning In Excess mare Above Perfection, making him a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick and Grade 2 winner Positive Spirit.

Bee Jersey stared down some of the world's best dirt milers on the racetrack, and now he'll try to pass that determination on to his foals, the first of which are weanlings of 2020.

On this edition of In The Stud, we venture out to Darby Dan Farm to speak with Ryan Norton about the 6-year-old son of Jersey Town who gained national recognition when he won the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap.

Bee Jersey won five of 10 starts during his on-track career for earnings of $976,293. In addition to his Met Mile score, Bee Jersey picked up a win in the G3 Steve Sexton Mile Stakes, and he traveled across the world to finish second behind the mighty Thunder Snow in the G3 U.A.E. Two Thousand Guineas.

A number of stallions can be found in Bee Jersey's extended family, including A.P. Indy, Summer Squall, Lemon Drop Kid, and Duke of Marmalade.

In The Stud Presented By Kentucky Equine Research: Oscar Performance, First Weanlings Of 2020

A sustained run at the top of a division is one of the hardest things to pull off in horse racing. After accomplishing just that on the racetrack within North America's turf ranks, Oscar Performance will attempt to do the same as a sire.

On this week's edition of In The Stud, we speak with Headley Bell of Mill Ridge Farm about the multiple Grade 1-winning son of Kitten's Joy, whose first foals are weanlings of 2020.

Oscar Performance won Grade 1 races at two, three, and four, starting off with the 2016 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. At three, he added Grade 1 scores in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes and Secretariat Stakes. Then, at four, he won the G1 Woodbine Mile Stakes and equaled the world record time for a mile in the G3 Poker Stakes, stopping the clock in 1:31.23.

A homebred for Amerman Racing, Oscar Performance is out of the stakes-winning Theatrical mare Devine Actress, making him a full-brother to multiple Grade 3 winner Oscar Nominated.
