Sister to German Classic Winner Yields 1.25M Euros in Deauville

A member of the Gestut Ammerland dispersal, listed winner Sea The Sky (Ger) (Sea The Stars {Ire}–Sanwa {Ger}, by Monsun {Ger}) realized a €1.25 million final bid from Godolphin during the opening session of Arqana's Vente d'Elevage in Deauville Saturday. The €820,000 Baden-Baden September yearling purchase is a full-sister to German Derby victor Sea The Moon (Ger), out of a full-sister to German Classic winners Schiaparelli (Ger), Samum (Ger) and Salve Regina (Ger).

One Chance Leads 10 Wildcards For Tattersalls Online

A total of 10 wildcards, including the broodmare One Chance (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) (lot 120), have been added to the Tattersalls Online December Sale catalogue.

In foal to Sealiway (Fr), the juvenile winner was third in the G2 Queen Mary S. and is one of three wildcards for the Baroda Stud draft. Another is Grandee Daisy (GB) (Sepoy {Aus}) (lot 122), who is in foal to Phoenix Of Spain (Ire); and rounding out the trio is a yearling filly (lot 118) by Zarak (Fr) who is a granddaughter to listed winner and Group 3-placed Roseanna (Fr) (Anabaa). Glebe Farm Stables will consign Mujabaha (GB) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) (lot 123), who is a black-type producer and in foal to Space Blues (Ire); and another lot of note is smart juvenile Upper Hand (Ire) (Camacho {GB}) (lot 115).

Record Number Of Entries Catalogued For The Tattersalls Online November Sale

A breeding right in sire-on-the-rise Havana Grey (GB) (lot 152) is one of the highlights of the catalogue of next week's Tattersalls Online November Sale, which was released this week. Featuring a record 154 entries of both Flat and National Hunt horses, the catalogue is comprised of 86 horses in- and out-of-training, 27 yearlings, 23 broodmares, eight foals, three point-to-pointers and seven breeding rights.

Based at Whitsbury Manor Stud, the grey was named the leading European First-Season Sire of 2022, and his offspring continue to go from strength to strength. He celebrated his first winner at the top table with the G1 Prix Morny and G1 Middle Park S. dynamo Vandeek (GB) this year. He will stand for an increased fee of £55,000 in 2024.

Other breeding rights on offer include Cracksman (GB) (lot 151), who sired the undefeated Arc winner Ace Impact (Ire); while Aclaim (Ire) (lot 149), Cloth Of Stars (Ire) (lot 150), Land Force (Ire) (lot 153), Le Brivido (Fr) (lot 154) and Territories (Ire) (lot 148) all feature.

Among the broodmares is the graded producer Washington Blue (GB) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}) (lot 136) who is carrying to Group 1 sire Starspangledbanner (Aus). There are also mares in foal to Bungle Inthejungle (GB), Harry Angel (Ire), Sergei Prokofiev and Ulysses (Ire) among others.

The 94-rated Dire La Verite (Fr) (Muhaarar {GB}) (lot 43) will go through the ring, as will the stayer Ravenscraig Castle (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) (lot 7) on the Flat.

Cracksman is represented in the yearling portion of the sale, as is Nathaniel, New Bay (GB), Oasis Dream (GB), Saxon Warrior (Jpn), and the aforementioned Starspangledbanner. Young sire Lucky Vega (Ire) will have his first foals.

Son Of Harry Angel Highlights Tattersalls November Catalogue

Listed winner Iconic Moment (Ire) (Harry Angel {Ire}) (lot 112) is one of 124 horses catalogued for the Tattersalls November Sale on Thursday, Nov. 9.

Formerly the Tattersalls Ascot November Sale, the sale is comprised of 56 colts and geldings in- and out-of-training, 43 fillies and mares in- and out-of-training, 21 yearlings, two broodmares, a foal and one point-to-pointer.

Consigned by Jame Tate's Jamesfield Stables, Iconic Moment is rated 99 and is joined by stablemate Blue Storm (GB) (Blue Point {Ire}) (lot 111), who won on debut and has been placed twice since. Rated 97, Blue Storm is out of the listed winner Riskit Fora Biskit (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}). The 85-rated winner Love Billy Boy (Ire) (Invincible Army {Ire}) (lot 110) is one of nine from Richard Hannon's East Everleigh Stables. Of the 21 yearlings, lot 5 is a Fastnet Rock (Aus) colt out of a half-sister to the Group 2 winner Ubettabelieveit (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) and the Group 3 winner Harlem Shake (Ire) (Moss Vale {Ire}). From the offerings with a National Hunt focus, Stepney Causeway (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) (lot 117) has won over both hurdles and chase fences for trainer Milton Harris.

Wildcard entries will be accepted through Tuesday, Nov. 2.
