‘Incredible Handicapping Challenges’: TVG To Broadcast Entire Royal Ascot Meet

TVG, America's horse racing network, will bring the pinnacle of international racing into the homes of fans across the country from Tuesday, June 16th through Saturday, June 20th as the network broadcasts the entire meet from Royal Ascot.

The coverage, presented by Lane's End Farm, will feature expert analysis and insight from TVG's Scott Hazelton who will be covering the races remotely from Los Angeles, California. First post time on Tuesday, June 16th through Friday, June 19th is 8:15 a.m. ET and first post on Saturday, June 20th is 7:40 a.m.

“I was at Royal Ascot the last four years and it provides incredible handicapping challenges and wonderful payoffs in big fields,” said Hazelton. “It is the best week of the year for racing given the international interest and the pride there is. I imagine the international pools will be enormous given the sharp focus of wagering and not being on site for racing fans.”

The highlights of the prestigious meet include four Breeders' Cup Challenge Races – the Queen Anne Stakes, the Prince of Wales's Stakes, the Norfolk Stakes and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. The winners of these races will earn automatic berths into the TVG Mile, the Turf, the Juvenile Turf Sprint and the Turf Sprint, respectively.

The races at Royal Ascot will feature international stars as well as some familiar names and faces to American audiences. Trainer Graham Motion will send the 2019 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (GI) champion Sharing to compete in Saturday's Coronation Stakes (GI), a seven-furlong contest for three-year-old fillies.

TVG will be offering a Money Back Special promotion on select races from Royal Ascot throughout the week.

$88,940 Payout In Cross Country Pick 5 Featuring Belmont, Churchill Downs

Saturday's Cross Country Pick 5, featuring racing from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., and Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., returning a whopping $88,940 for correctly selecting all five winners for the 50-cent wager, with $104,659 wagered in total.

The sequence started when Cost Benefit rewarded his status as the favorite in winning a maiden special weight going one mile on firm turf in Belmont's Race 7. The Chad Brown trainee returned $5.20 on a $2 win bet.

Action alternated between the tracks, with Dance Rhythms besting allowance company in a 5 ½-furlong turf sprint in Churchill's Race 8. Trained by Gregory Foley, Dance Rhythms paid $23.

Switching back to Belmont for the third leg, Quality Stones, under jockey Kendrick Carmouche, took the six-furlong main track sprint in Race 8. Conditioned by Roddy Valente, Quality Stones returned $12.20.

Churchill served as the site for the concluding two legs, with big-priced winner Sconsin winning Race 10 at 19-1 odds. Trained by Foley, Sconsin paid $41 and set up the exciting finale in the Cross Country Pick 5 in the following race.

Race 11, the sequence's lone stakes, saw Admission Office win the Grade 3 Louisville, returning $9.20. Trained by Brian Lynch, Admission Office won for the first time since April 2019, edging Arklow by a head in the 1 ½-mile turf contest.

The minimum bet for the multi-track, multi-race wager is 50 cents. Wagering on the Cross Country Pick 5 is also available on track, on ADW platforms, and at simulcast facilities across the country. Every week will feature a mandatory payout of the net pool.

‘Talking Horses’ Race-Day Previews Now Available On NYRA’s YouTube Channel

The New York Racing Association, Inc. reminds viewers that Talking Horses is now available on NYRA's YouTube channel, in addition to its regular home on the daily simulcast feed every race day during the 2020 Belmont Park spring/summer meet.

Hosted by Andy Serling, Talking Horses lowers the curtain on each day's live racing program on the NYRA circuit. For more than a quarter-century, the show has previewed the full card of the day's racing and provided insight and in-depth analysis of the handicapping process from experts. Serling has served as the lead NYRA handicapper on the NYRA TV broadcast team since 2008 and provided commentary on Talking Horses for most of its history.

“Talking Horses, which has been a part of the NYRA Simulcast experience for over 25 years, is in many ways simply two horseplayers arguing handicapping opinions,” said Serling. “It's also the first show of its kind to add replays and statistics to its production in an attempt to broaden the viewer's appreciation of the day's races. We're pleased that is now more widely available than ever before.”

America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national horse racing telecast produced by NYRA in partnership with FOX Sports, is also broadcast on NYRA's YouTube channel, which boasts more than 36,000 subscribers. The 2020 Belmont spring/summer meet continues through Sunday, July 12. Live racing is offered Thursday through Sunday with a first post of 1:15 p.m. The 25-day meet features 22 graded stakes and 40 stakes races in total worth $7 million in purses.

138 Tickets Win $58,267 Each On Gulfstream’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Mandatory Payout

Multiple winning tickets in Saturday's mandatory payout of Gulfstream Park's 20-cent Rainbow 6 each returned $58,267.14 on a day when the total pool at the Hallandale Beach, Fla., track approached $10 million.

The sequence included Eye of the Jedi's $36.40 upset of Grade 1-winning millionaire Math Wizard and multiple graded-stakes winner Diamond Oops in Race 11, the $55,000 Coaltown for 3-year-olds and up.

There were 138 winning tickets.

The Rainbow 6 had gone unsolved for 20 consecutive racing days since a mandatory payout of $31,476.56 May 9. A total of $7,705,766 was put into the popular multi-race wager on top of a carryover of $1,861,605.13 from Friday's program.

In the Rainbow 6, the carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On mandatory payout days, the carryover jackpot is completely disbursed and shared by all bettors holding tickets with the most winners.

The Rainbow 6 begins anew Sunday spanning Races 5-10 and offering a guaranteed pool of $100,000. Races 5 and 7 are scheduled for the turf, attracting a total of 28 entries.

First race post time is noon.
