Friday’s Card At Santa Anita Features $555,554 Jackpot Pick Six Carryover

There were no perfect tickets in Santa Anita's popular 20 cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot on Monday, resulting in a sizeable Jackpot carryover of $555,554 into an eight-race program on Friday. First post time is at 12:30 p.m.

With a carryover from Sunday of $481,864, there was $321,913 in new money wagered Monday, resulting in a total Rainbow Six Jackpot pool of $803,777.

Although there was no Single Ticket winner, there were 48 consolation tickets with six winners, each worth $3,602.05.

Friday's Rainbow Six will be comprised of races three through eight. Approximate post time for Friday's third race is at 1:30 p.m. PT.

Laurel Park: Returning Apprentice Marquez Triples; Holiday Card Includes Rainbow 6 Carryover

There will be a carryover of $6,787.65 in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 when live racing returns to Laurel Park for a special Martin Luther King Jr. holiday program Monday.

Post time for the first of nine races is 12:25 p.m. ET.

Multiple tickets with all six winners were sold in Sunday's Rainbow 6, each returning $1,346.82.

Monday's Rainbow 6 sequence spans Races 4-9 and includes the Race 7 feature, a six-furlong allowance for Maryland-bred/sired 4-year-olds and up. Joseph Besecker and Imaginary Stables' Redeem Eddie, beaten a head in each of his last two starts, is the 3-1 program favorite.

Also entered are Stone Courageous, runner-up in the 2019 Maryland Million Nursery and Maryland Juvenile Futurity; Tommy Shelby, third in the 2019 Maryland Juvenile Futurity; and Bernie's On Fire, unraced since finishing off the board in the 2020 Miracle Wood last February.

Maryland's leading apprentice of 2020, 17-year-old jockey Charlie Marquez registered a hat trick Sunday aboard Invest ($10) in Race 2, Big Hambone ($8.60) in Race 5 and Flyin It ($4.40) in Race 9 … Jockey Sheldon Russell doubled with Maliceinthepalace ($11.20) in Race 3 and Vibrancy ($6.20) in Race 7 … Trainer Claudio Gonzalez, in South Florida to prepare 2020 Pimlico Special (G3) winner Harpers First Ride for a start in the $3 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) Jan. 23 at Gulfstream, was represented to two winners – Lost My Vowcher ($16) in Race 4 and Sugar Daddy ($16.40) in Race 6.

$481,864 Santa Anita Single Ticket Rainbow Pick 6 Jackpot On Monday’s Holiday Card

With special Martin Luther King Jr. Day racing available at Santa Anita on Monday, there is a sizable carryover of $481,864 into the day's 20-cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick 6 Jackpot. First post time for a nine-race card is at 12:30 p.m. PT and the Rainbow 6 will be comprised of races four through nine.

Approximate post time for Monday's fourth race is at 2:03 p.m. PT.

With a Jackpot carryover of $415,148 coming into Sunday, $291,426 in new money was bet into the popular wager, creating a total Rainbow 6 pool of $706,574. There were 81 consolation tickets with six winners today, resulting in a payoff of $1,936.90 each.

Gulfstream Park: Pegasus Week Kicks Off Wednesday with $750,000 Jackpot Guarantee In Rainbow 6

Pegasus Week at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., will kick off Wednesday with a guaranteed jackpot pool of $750,000 for the 20-cent Rainbow 6.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the sixth racing day in a row following a Jan. 9 mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $16,505.56 Sunday.

The jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $5,815.06.

Entries for next Saturday's $3-million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) and $1-million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational (G1) will be taken Wednesday. The post-position draw will be livestreamed at 11:45 a.m. ET on gulfstreampark.com.

The Pegasus and Pegasus Turf will be featured on a 12-race program with five supporting stakes, including the $200,000 Inside Information (G2), the $125,000 Fred W. Hooper (G3), the $150,000 W. L. McKnight (G3), the $125,000 Marshua's River (G3) and the $125,000 La Prevoyante. First-race post time Saturday is set for 11:40 a.m.

Leading up to Pegasus World Cup Day, there will be a $97,891.79 carryover for Friday's Stronach 5 multi-race, multi-track wager.

WHO'S HOT: Two-time defending Championship Meet titlist Irad Ortiz Jr. rode five winners on Sunday's program, scoring aboard Templet ($8.40) in Race 3, Snackster ($25) in Race 6, Traffic Pattern ($3.80) in Race 7, and Zanno ($5.60) in Race 9 before capping his big day with a victory aboard Bohemian Boy ($7.40) in Race 12.
