$193,772 Pick 6 Carryover On Wednesday At Saratoga

Wednesday's card at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $193,772 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday's 10-race card.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,699.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The sequence kicked off in Race 5 – an off-the-turf allowance optional claimer for fillies and mares 3-years-old and upward – when Luis Saez piloted Fannie and Freddie [No. 9, $14.80] to a third career score for trainer Al Stall, Jr.

Tom Amoss saddled Greg Tramontin's Alys Beach [No. 6, $18.60] to victory in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies in Race 6. Tyler Gaffalione piloted the daughter of Omaha Beach.

Under guidance from Jose Ortiz, Repole Stable's New York-bred Jerry the Nipper [No. 11, $10] won his sixth lifetime start for trainer Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher in Race 7 – an allowance optional claimer for 3-year-olds and upward on the Mellon turf.

Leftembehind [No. 6, $11.40], trained by Barclay Tagg and ridden by Katie Davis, graduated at seventh asking in Race 8 – a $30,000 maiden claimer going one mile on the main track for 3-year-olds and upward.

The evergreen 9-year-old Channel Maker [No. 8, $32.40], the 2020 Champion Turf Male, went gate-to-wire to spring a 15-1 upset for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in Race 9 – the Grade 2, $250,000 Bowling Green for older horses going 11 furlongs over the inner turf.

With the carryover already triggered, the sequence concluded in Race 10 – a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight for fillies and mares 3-years-old and upward – where Gaffalione returned to the winner's circle after piloting the Phil Bauer-trained Little Prankster [No. 14, $3.50*].

Wednesday's Pick 6 will kick off in Race 5 at 3:26 p.m. Eastern and includes the $135,000 De La Rose in Race 8. First post for the 10-race card is 1:10 p.m.

Gulfstream Park: Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed At $300,000 Friday

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 Gross Jackpot Pool will be guaranteed at $300,000 Friday at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager went unsolved Sunday for the 13th racing day following a mandatory payout.

Friday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 3-8, featuring a 5½-furlong optional claiming allowance for Florida-bred older fillies and mares on Tapeta in Race 7. Fernando Abreu-trained Gitana holds a wide edge on experience over her seven rivals in the race for non-winners of a race other than maiden, claiming or starter and for horses entered for a claiming price of $20,000. The 6-year-old mare has been first or second in 15 of her 33 career starts.

A mile-and-70-yard maiden special weight event for older fillies and mares on Tapeta precedes the feature. The seven-horse field includes a Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained first-time starter, Applause. The 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo, bred and owned by Peter E. Blum Thoroughbreds LLC, has been training forwardly at Palm Meadows, Gulfstream Park's satellite training facility in Palm Beach County. Kara and Colleen, a Joseph stablemate, enters the race after finishing second and third on Tapeta in her two most recent starts. Christopher Duncan-trained To Thyself B True is expected to receive attention at the betting windows off her third-place finish in the Powder Break Stakes in her last start.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
