Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Guaranteed At $200,000 Sunday

Sunday's 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $200,000 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., where the popular multi-race wager went unsolved Saturday for the seventh racing day following a $461,035.47 jackpot payoff Oct. 9.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, anchored by a mile maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds. Antonio Sano-trained Logico, who rallied from last following a very slow start to finish second in his recent debut, and Gustavo Delgado-trained Rod Two Rod, second in his two career starts, are likely to vie for favoritism.

A maiden special weight race for 3-year-olds and up on Tapeta carded as Race 3 will mark the debut of New Town Anner Stud Farm's Macedonian, a son of Bernardini and Argentine-bred Meguial. The Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee is a half-brother to I Want Revenge, who captured the 2009 Grade 1 Wood Memorial and Grade 3 Gotham.

On Saturday's program, Antonio Sano-trained Simplification graduated in style, capturing a six-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds. The son of Not This Time, who was coming off a fifth-place finish on Tapeta in his debut, ran six furlongs in 1:09.81.

The Pick 6 on Saturday will be bolstered by a $47,777 carryover as the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $589.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

Friday's sequence began in Race 5 with Kenner [No. 5, $22] upsetting a six-furlong New York-bred maiden sprint for 2-year-olds. Ruben Silvera piloted the winner for trainer Jamie Ness.

Princess Fawzia [No. 4, $7.70] captured Race 6, a seven-furlong optional-claimer on the Widener turf for fillies and mares. Hall of Famer John Velazquez was in the irons for trainer Linda Rice.

Jose Ortiz guided the Bill Mott-trained Godolphin homebred Nostalgic [No. 4, $20.20] to an impressive maiden score in Race 7, a 1 1/16-mile trek for juvenile fillies over Big Sandy.

Javier Castellano guided Stolen Holiday [No. 4, $10] to victory in Race 8 for fellow Hall of Famer Shug McGaughey ahead of an impressive gate-to-wire score by Rustler [No. 10, $44] under Kendrick Carmouche for trainer Dane Kobiskie in the featured Carle Place in Race 9.

With the carryover already guaranteed, the Rudy Rodriguez-trained Bali's Shade [No. 3, $7.10] persevered down the lane under Jose Lezcano to close out the sequence in a six-furlong maiden sprint for state-bred juveniles.

Saturday's Pick 6 kicks off in Race 5 at 2:43 p.m. Eastern and will include the Grade 3 Noble Damsel in Race 8 and the Grade 2 Hill Prince in Race 9. First post on the 10-race card is 12:35 p.m.
