Equibase Adds Entries From France To International Section Of Website, App

Equibase Company, the Thoroughbred industry's official database for racing information, has announced the addition of entries from France to the list of countries available within the international section of equibase.com.  All international entry information, including the newly added French entries, is also available on the Equibase app.

Final entries from France will include data from all of the country's major race courses, including Longchamp, which will host the prestigious Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday, Oct. 1.

“Horse racing is a global sport and we are excited to be able to make French entries available to our users just ahead of France's biggest weekend of racing,” said Kyle McDoniel, president and chief operating officer for Equibase. “As North America's official database for racing information, our website and app are natural platforms in which to offer data provided from across the world.”

With the addition of France, Equibase now offers final entry information from 20 different countries. The basic entry information includes program and post position numbers along with the horse name and weight carried, plus the trainer and jockey name, and the morning line odds. Similar to North American entries, international entry data remains available for seven days after each race day.

Equibase Company is a partnership between subsidiaries of The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America and serves as the Thoroughbred industry's official database. Through its website and mobile applications, Equibase offers a comprehensive array of free statistical information as well as premium handicapping products and reports in support of the North American Thoroughbred racing industry.

Santa Anita’s $5,000 Online Showvivor & $14,000 ‘Pick ‘Em’ Return For 19-Day Autumn Meet

Santa Anita's popular free online “Showvivor,” presented by EquinEdge, as well as the track's free online $14,000 “Pick 'Em” contest, will be available to players everywhere when the track's 19-day Autumn Meet opens on Friday, Sept. 29.

While Showvivor requires players to select horses that finish no worse than third each racing day, Santa Anita Pick 'Em, which is offered each Saturday and Sunday, enables players to mix horse racing selections with other major sports props—including football.

On each Saturday and Sunday, a Santa Anita Pick 'Em player can win $1,000 each day by making the most correct picks and there is an additional $2,000 prize to be awarded on closing day Nov. 5, to the player with the most total wins over the course of the Autumn Meet.

To sign up and for additional information regarding Santa Anita Pick 'Em, please visit santaanita.com/pickem.

With free Admission and Parking, first post time on opening day is at 1 p.m. PT. Fans are encouraged to register to play at showvivor.santaanita.com prior to first race post time each racing day through closing day, Sunday, Nov. 5.

Showvivor offers players a variety of cash incentives, highlighted by a $2,500 top prize, which will be awarded to the longest “Show Streak” over the course of the Autumn Meet.

Players can select one horse from one race each racing day. That horse must run no worse than third in order for the player to “Showvive.” If a player's selection fails to run 1-2-3, that individual is not totally eliminated, as he or she may start up a new streak the next racing day. The player with the longest Show Streak through closing day will be declared the top prize winner of $2,500.

Fans are advised the longest Show Streak is just one of five separate ways to win beginning opening day, Sept. 29.

SHOW STREAK The player that has the longest “show” of no-worse than third place finish streak at the end of the Autumn Meet will win the Grand Prize of $2,500. If a player fails to make an online selection on a given race day, their streak is still alive, but they will not be given credit for any days missed.

WIN STREAK This carries a $1,000 prize and is intended to reward players who have selected the most consecutive first place finishers. If a player fails to make a selection on a given day, his or her streak may continue, but the player will not receive credit for any days missed.

TOTAL WINS On closing day, Nov. 5, the player that has selected the most total win will receive a $500 prize.

HIGHEST SINGLE WIN PAYOUT This carries a $500 prize and will be awarded to the player with the single highest win payout (on a Two Dollar wager) over the course of the entire meet.

TOTAL WIN EARNINGS This is a Showvivor category which also carries a $500 prize and is awarded to the player that accumulates the highest total dollar amount-won based on their selections at the end of the meet. For example, each time an entrant's selection finishes in first place in the official standings (Wins), the dollar amount, based on Santa Anita's official $2 win payout, will be added to that player's total money-won to date. The winner will be determined on closing day.

Entries for Santa Anita's Autumn Meet opening day will be taken Tuesday, Sept. 26 and will be available that afternoon at santaanita.com. For additional information regarding Showvivor presented by EquinEdge and on Santa Anita's free online Pick 'Em, please visit santaanita.com or call (626) 574-RACE.

Charles Town Cancels Last Five Races Of Saturday Card

Charles Town in West Virginia has canceled the remainder of its Saturday night card as the effects of Tropical Storm Ophelia brought rain, some locally heavy, to the area.

After the first three races were run without incident over a track labeled sloppy, riders decided in the interests of safety to not continue with the card.

Live racing is slated to resume on Thursday, Sept. 28 at its standard first race post time of 7:00 p.m. (ET).
