Belmont At The Big A: Thursday’s Pick 6 To Have $159,032 Carryover

The Thursday card at the Belmont at the Big A fall meet at Aqueduct in South Ozone Park, N.Y., will be bolstered by a double Pick 6 carryover of $159,032.18 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive card on Sunday's nine-race program.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $138.25 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The sequence started in Race 4 with Hall of Fame jockey Javier Castellano guiding Big Agenda [No. 6, $8.70] to a $25,000 claiming score for trainer Joe Sharp. Castellano completed a riding double in Race 5 as Cupid's Heart [No. 5, $3.10*] was an easy winner of the state-bred optional claimer for conditioner Bruce Levine.

The Mike Maker-trained New York-bred Run Curtis Run [No. 5, $8] overcame a compromised start in the Carle Place [Race 6] to earn his second lifetime stakes victory under expert handling from Jose Ortiz. Apprentice rider Jose Gomez scored his first of two wins on the day in Race 7 aboard Masked Marauder [No. 1, $7.50] for trainer Rudy Rodriguez in a $25,000 claiming sprint.

Gomez then guided the Natalia Lynch trainee Road to Remember [No. 10, $60] to upset a state-bred allowance sprinting six furlongs over the outer turf at odds of 29-1.

With only four horses covered in the final leg, Pebble Lane [No. 3X, $14] triggered the carryover with a gutsy re-rallying score in a $40,000 state-bred maiden claimer [Race 9] under Dylan Davis for trainer Rick Schosberg.

Thursday's Pick 6 sequence will begin in Race 4 [2:12 p.m. Eastern] on the nine-race card. First post is 12:35 p.m.

Gulfstream Park: Friday’s Rainbow 6 Hit For $80,364

There was one winning ticket on Gulfstream Park's Rainbow 6 Friday afternoon worth $80,364.94.

The popular 20-cent wager  at the Hallandale Beach, Fla., track will begin again Saturday with a $50,000 gross jackpot guarantee.

The carryover jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 begins with Race 6, a starter optional claimer at seven furlongs on the main track. There's a 7-5 favorite on the morning line in Sea Trident. Trained by Claudio Gonzalez, Sea Trident was claimed by Gonzalez for $12,500 August 6 and has won each of his two starts since. Sea Trident enters the race off a 6 ½ length victory against similar last out.

Gonzalez has the tepid favorite in Race 7 in Smooth Rico, who was claimed out of his last race for $35,000.

Saturday's featured race, a $51,000 allowance optional claimer at 6 ½ furlongs, drew a field of eight including 9-5 favorite The Distractor, who comes into the race with three wins and two seconds in his last five starts for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
