Gulfstream Park: Rainbow 6 Jackpot Guaranteed At $450,000 Sunday

Sunday's Rainbow 6 gross jackpot guarantee at Gulfstream Park will be $450,000.

The popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for eight racing days following a jackpot hit Dec. 18 for a $137,119 payoff.

The Rainbow 6 will begin Sunday with Race 5 an allowance optional claimer at a mile on the turf. The full field of 12 includes 2019 Jim Dandy (G2) runner-up and 2021 Harlan's Holiday (G3) winner Tax and Juddmonte's Samburu. The sequence also includes the $100,000 Limehouse, $100,000 Cash Run and the $150,000 Mucho Macho Man.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $502 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The regally-bred Frost Point [No. 3, $6.70*], by Frosted and out of Grade 1-winning millionaire Balletto, prevailed as the favorite in Race 5 with Jose Lezcano up for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott.

Group 3-winner Meraas [No. 7, $10.80] rocketed gate-to-wire to capture a six-furlong optional-claiming sprint in Race 6 under Abner Adorno for conditioner Chad Summers before multiple graded-stakes winning millionaire Drafted [No. 3, $14] nosed out Little Vic to win the featured Gravesend in Race 7.

With only two horses covered in the Race 8 finale, a one-mile claiming tilt for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up, Jerusalema [No. 11, $10] drew off to trigger the carryover.

Saturday's Pick 6 sequence begins in Race 4 [1:46 p.m. Eastern] and features the $150,000 Queens County in Race 8. First post is 12:20 p.m.
