Gulfstream Park: Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed At $400,000 Wednesday

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved at Gulfstream Park Sunday for the eighth racing day in a row following a single-ticket jackpot hit Jan. 5 for $533,783.63.

Wednesday's Rainbow 6 gross jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $400,000.

 The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Multiple tickets with all six winners Sunday returned $1,316.78.

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved at Gulfstream Park Saturday for the seventh racing day in a row following a single-ticket jackpot hit for $533,783.63.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 gross jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $400,000.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 Sequence will span Races 5-10, highlighted by an $84,000 maiden special weight for 3-year-old fillies in Race 6 and an $86,000 optional claiming allowance at five furlongs on turf in Race 8.

First-time starters by Curlin, Shaman Ghost, Bolt d'Oro, Accelerate, Speightstown, and Into Mischief are in the 11-horse field for Race 6. Christopher Davis-trained Firenspice, who has been first or second in five of six starts, all on Tapeta, is scheduled to make her long-awaited debut on turf in Race 8.

Turfway To Change Saturday First Post Time Starting Jan. 21

Racing under the lights will now be consistent across the Turfway Park racing week as Saturday first post time will shift from 12:45 p.m. to 5:55 p.m. (ET) starting Jan. 21.

The lone exception to the new Saturday post will be March 25 for Jeff Ruby Steaks Day when the card will be conducted during the afternoon.

The Winter/Spring Meet will run through Saturday, April 1. Live racing will be conducted Wednesday-Saturday until Feb. 28 and Thursday-Saturday March 2-April 1.

Rain Rain Go Away: Santa Anita Cancels Monday Holiday Program

With heavy rain in the forecast, Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., has announced there will be no live racing on Monday, Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Santa Anita will instead run Friday, Jan. 20, which was originally scheduled to be an off-day.

Although there is no racing this Saturday and Monday, Santa Anita will be open as planned for live racing on Sunday, with first post time for an eight-race card, consisting of all main track races, at 12:30 p.m. PT.

The Grade 3, $200,000 La Canada Stakes, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now be run this Sunday, Jan. 15.  The La Canada, for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles, has been carded as Sunday's seventh race, with assigned post time at 3:29 p.m. PT.

With sunny skies forecast next week, Santa Anita will run next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with first post time each day at 12:30 p.m. PT.
