Monmouth Park has canceled its scheduled eight-race holiday racing card for Monday, Oct. 12, due to heavy rain and wind.
Racing will resume for the Meadowlands-at-Monmouth Park meet on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with an eight-race program headlined by the $100,000 Jersey Shore Stakes for 3-year-olds.
First race post time is 12:50 p.m.

A filly by Candy Ride, a gelding by Uncaptured and a colt by Empire Maker sped quarters in : 21 1/5 to share honors for the fastest work at the distance at the Under Tack Show for the 2-year-olds and Horses of Racing Age section of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2020 October Sale.
Hip No. 17, a 2-year-old bay colt by Kitten's Joy consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, turned in a quarter in :21 2/5. He's out of Magicalcarpetride, by Smart Strike, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Smooth Roller.
The fastest three-eighths by a 2-year-old was by Hip No. 44, a colt by Anchor Down consigned by Navas Equine, Agent, who stopped the timer in :33 2/5. He's a half brother to stakes placed Tale Twister out of Abounding Love, by Tale of the Cat.
Hip No. 56, Annette's Humor, a 4-year-old chestnut filly by Shackleford consigned by consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, breezed the day's fastest three eighths, clocked in :33 1/5. She's a half-sister to stakes winner Sweet Juana out of Whimsical Miss, by Distorted Humor.
Hip No. 50, a 2-year-old bay filly by Speightster consigned by Julie Davies LLC, Agent, worked the session's fastest eighth, stopping the timer in :10 1/5. She's out of Bern Legacy, by Bernstein, a daughter of graded stakes placed stakes winner Penny Marie.
Hip No. 58, Slashing, a 2-year-old colt by Nyquist consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, broke his maiden impressively in maiden special weight company this past Wednesday at Gulfstream Park West, leading all the way and winning by 5-1/4 lengths. The bay colt is out of graded stakes placed Proud Pearl, by Proud Citizen, a full sister to champion Proud Spell.

Enable, Europe's Horse of the Year in 2017 and 2019, has been retired from racing, and she will be bred to Kingman for the 2021 breeding season.
Douglas Erskine Crum, CEO Juddmonte Farms, said: “After consulting her trainer John Gosden and his racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe, Prince Khalid has decided that Enable will be retired from racing and will now join the Juddmonte broodmare band to be covered by Kingman in 2021.”
She retires from a 19-race career, spanning five seasons, with 15 wins, including 11 Group 1 races and record earnings for a European-trained horse of £10.7 million (US$14,062,824). Enable is most successful performer ever in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with two wins and a second, an unprecedented three King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and five Oaks (Epsom in race record time, Irish, Yorkshire twice, and Cheshire). She is the only horse to win the Arc and the Breeders' Cup Turf in the same year, achieving that feat in 2018
Enable, a 6-year-old daughter of Nathaniel, was named Europe's Cartier Horse of the Year in 2017 and 2019. The Juddmonte homebred was named Europe's champion 3-year-old filly in 2017, then earned the continent's champion older female title in 2018 and 2019.
Juddmonte racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: “She has brought so much joy to everyone who has been involved with her. Her elegance and forceful personality have been nurtured by John and his team at Clarehaven, especially by Imran who has looked after her with such calm and devotion. In her, Frankie found a willing partner to execute her ability on the racecourse. Her CV withstands the closest of inspections, very few can match what she has given to racing.”
Kingman, who also raced as a Juddmonte homebred, is a 9-year-old son of Invincible Spirit who stands at Barnstead Manor Stud in Suffolk, England.
He was named Europe's Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old male in 2014 off a campaign that included G1 victories in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, St. James's Palace Stakes, Sussex Stakes, and Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard – Jacques Le Marois.
Kingman's most notable runners include St. James's Palace Stakes winner Palace Pier and French 2,000 Guineas winner Persian King.

The 3-1 third choice in a field of seven, Joseph Allen’s progressive Civil Union (War Front) built on her last-out success in the GII Glens Falls S. at Saratoga with a breakthrough top-level tally in Saturday’s GI Flower Bowl S. at Belmont Park, securing a berth in the gate for the GI Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf in the process.
Allowed to settle last but one beneath Joel Rosario, with only G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr})’s French and American Group 3/Grade III winner My Sister Nat (Fr) (Acclamation {GB}) behind her, Civil Union was content to bide time from a ground-saving position as longshot Lovely Lucky (Lookin At Lucky) set a modest pace in advance of favored Cambier Parc (Medaglia d’Oro). Always traveling sweetly, Civil Union was short of room entering the final 2 1/2 furlongs, but accelerated three off the inside once La Signare (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) vacated that spot. With one of the best finishers in the business at the controls, Civil Union came calling for the lead nearing the sixteenth pole and was home first as My Sister Nat attacked the line down the center of the course. Nay Lady Nay (Ire) (No Nay Never), who was relegated to second favoritism in the last few clicks of the tote, could not quite match strides with the top two and settled for third, one spot ahead of a disappointing Cambier Parc.
It was the second Flower Bowl win in the last four years for Allen, trainer Shug McGaughey and War Front, whose daughter War Flag landed the spoils at 9-1 in 2017 before finishing a respectable sixth behind Wuheida (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the Filly & Mare Turf at Del Mar.
“When she started off this winter in Florida, I never imagined that she would be a Grade 1 winner,” the Hall of Fame conditioner admitted. “She’s progressed the right way. It’s fun. She’s a nice mare to train and nice to be around. She ran under some different tactics today on Joel [Rosario’s] part, but that’s why he’s such a great rider. He knows what to do.”
A debut winner from three starts for the Chad Brown barn in 2018 and 2019, Civil Union took a course-and-distance allowance in her second appearance for this barn ahead of a facile score in the 12-furlong River Memories S. July 12. With Rosario in the irons for the first time in the Sept. 5 Glens Falls, Civil Union sat handy to a walking pace, then covered her final three furlongs in a smart :34.97 to best My Sister Nat by a length.

Civil Union becomes the 23rd Grade I/Group 1 winner for her Claiborne-based stallion and is the 25th top-level scorer out of a daughter of the late Unbridled’s Song, three of which–Contrail (Jpn) and Volatile–have come this season.
Photograph is an unraced daughter of Black Speck, whose produce include the aforementioned War Flag as well as the former G2 UAE Derby hero Lines of Battle (War Front), who won the G1 Champions & Chater Cup in Hong Kong (then named Helene Super Star) en route to honors as that jurisdiction’s champion stayer. Civil Union’s third dam produced influential sire Dynaformer (Roberto) as well as the dam of GISW sire Offlee Wild (Wild Again).
A full-sister to the 2-year-old colt Battle of Britain, Civil Union has a weanling full-brother named Operation Torch. Having produced her first eight foals by War Front, Photograph was most recently bred to Tapit.
