TVG Going High-Definition On Charter’s Spectrum Service

TVG, America's horse racing network, will be available in high-definition in homes across the country by the end of September on Charter's Spectrum service, TVG announced on Friday.

Charter Communications is a leading broadband connectivity company and cable operator serving more than 29 million customers across 41 states including Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, Florida, Michigan and Wisconsin.

“Upgrading our carriage to HD has been a priority for TVG and we're very excited to be launching later this summer with our partners from Spectrum,” said Kip Levin, President of FanDuel Group and CEO of TVG. “We will continue to invest in production, technology and carriage enhancements as part of our overall commitment to our track and horsemen partners and we look forward to more good news in this area in the next several weeks.”

The announcement comes as TVG begins coverage of two premier Thoroughbred race meets, Keeneland's special Summer Meet, which began on Wednesday, July 8, and Del Mar's traditional Summer Meeting beginning Friday, July 10.

During the Keeneland Summer Meet, TVG analysts Caton Bredar, Caleb Keller, Gabby Gaudet, Scott Hazelton and Todd Schrupp are on-site every day to lead the network's coverage. Race-day coverage begins at 11:30 a.m. when Gaudet and Hazelton host “Today at Keeneland,” the popular 30-minute preview show with handicapping picks and discussion of horses of interest. “Today at Keeneland” will air live on TVG2, The CW Lexington and WKYT.com and be streamed live on Keeneland.com, KeenelandSelect.com and Facebook Live.

TVG's coverage of Del Mar will be on-site every day beginning with Christina Blacker, Britney Eurton, Joaquin Jaime and Mike Joyce reporting live from the popular seaside track.

Monmouth To Cap General Admission Tickets For Haskell Day At 500

Monmouth Park is putting 500 general admission tickets on sale for the July 18 TVG.com Haskell Stakes starting at noon on Saturday, July 11, on the track's web site at www.monmouthpark.com.

Tickets cost $100 apiece and include admission, a Haskell hat, a program and parking. Ticketholders will also have access to limited seating.

At the present time, these will be the only tickets available to the general public for the $1 million, Grade 1 Haskell, the centerpiece of the Monmouth Park meet. Attendance at the track is limited by a state mandate in the ongoing effort to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

“In meeting our commitment and obligations to our sponsors, horsemen and season box holders we're limited to offering 500 tickets to the general public at this time,” said Dennis Drazin, Chairman and CEO of Darby Development LLC, which operates the track. “We're grateful for Gov. Phil Murphy's leadership during these difficult times and appreciate his willingness to work with us in allowing fans on site. It's imperative we do our part, in what has become the new normal, to help slow the spread of the virus.”

General admission tickets will only be available online. There will be no ticket sales on Haskell Day.

Presently, there are no plans for additional tickets to be made available to the general public. Should Gov. Murphy issue any revised executive orders which allow Monmouth Park to increase attendance capacity for Haskell Day those tickets will then be put on sale.

Those purchasing general admission tickets will be able to enter the track through the Main Grandstand entrance.

Gates open at 10:30 a.m. on Haskell Day, with a first race post time of noon.

National Museum Of Racing Announces Virtual Educational Programs, Racing Previews

The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will debut its online summer program series on Wednesday, July 15. The first program in the series is a comprehensive preview of the upcoming Saratoga Race Course meeting. The discussion and analysis will be moderated by Brien Bouyea, the Museum's Hall of Fame and Communications Director, and will include the editorial staff of The Saratoga Special newspaper. $1 Million Bonus On The Line For Winner Of Haskell, Derby, Breeders’ Cup Classic

Monmouth Park is pleased to announce today that BetMakers Technology Group will sponsor a $1 million bonus for the connections of any horse that can win the TVG.com Haskell Stakes, the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The promotion will be known as the “Betmakers Bonanza.”

The Grade 1 Haskell Stakes, the centerpiece of the Monmouth Park meet, will be contested for the 53^rd time on Saturday, July 18. The $1 million race will offer the added inducements of points for the Kentucky Derby and a “Win and You're In” reward for the Breeders' Cup Classic.

The Kentucky Derby has been rescheduled to Sept. 5 from its traditional spot on the calendar the first Saturday in May due to COVID-19. The Breeders' Cup Classic is scheduled for Nov. 7.

Todd Buckingham, BetMakers' Chief Executive Officer, said the company has committed to offering the $1 million bonus for the next three years in partnership with Monmouth Park Racetrack.

The format for the 2021 and 2022 series of races for the “BetMakers Bonanza” will be determined following the finalization of racing dates for those respective years, but will include the Haskell and culminate with the Breeders' Cup Classic.
