Floors Stud Dispersal At Tattersalls December

The Tattersalls December Mares Sale will feature a partial dispersal of the stock from the late Duke of Roxburghe’s Floors Stud. The offering of seven mares and seven foals will be consigned by Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber’s Kiltinan Castle Stud.

Floors Stud’s Classic winner and multiple stakes producer Attraction (GB) was in the spotlight at the recent Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, with she and her daughter Cushion (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) both having provided seven-figure colts during Book 1, and two half-sisters to Attraction and their foals feature among the dispersal. Those are the 12-year-old Federation (GB) (Motivator {GB}), in foal to Starspangledbanner (Aus), and her fifth foal, a Lope De Vega (Ire) filly; and the 10-year-old Fusion (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}), who is not in foal. Her Siyouni (Fr) colt foal will also be sold.

Seven-year-old listed-placed Hibiscus (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will be an attractive offering as a full-sister to GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Line Of Duty (Ire) and a half to this year’s listed-winning Onassis (Ire) in foal to Siyouni. They are out of the Classic-placed Jacqueline Quest (Ire) (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}). Hibiscus has a Lope De Vega colt foal that will be offered.

Twitch (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}) is a Group 3-placed daughter of another Floors foundation mare, Comic (Ire) (Be My Chief), who will be offered in foal to Magna Grecia (Ire). Deep Inside (Fr) (Redoute’s Choice {Aus}) is a three-quarter sister to stakes winner and producer Chrysanthemum (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) and she is offered carrying her second foal, by Lope De Vega.

Lady Glinka (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) from the family of Sir Percy (GB) will be offered in-foal to Time Test (GB), while Merry Jaunt (Street Sense), a daughter of Grade I winner Light Jig (GB) (Danehill) and a half-sister to Grade I winner Seek Again (Speightstown) will be offered in foal to Night Of Thunder (Ire). Their Zoffany (Ire) filly and Australia (GB) colt, respectively, will also be offered.

The septet of foals are completed by a Time Test filly who is a half-sister to the Group 2-placed Counterclaim (GB) (Pivotal {GB}) and an Invincible Spirit (Ire) filly who is closely related to Magna Grecia (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}).

“The late Duke of Roxburghe was a passionate and hugely successful owner/breeder and left a lasting legacy which was never more obvious than at Book 1 of the recent October Yearling Sales where two of the six Floors yearlings sold for more than one million guineas,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “As with so many dispersals it is tinged with sadness, but we are proud that Tattersalls has been entrusted with the Floors Stud partial dispersal and confident that it will be amongst the highlights of Europe’s premier foal and breeding stock sale.”
