Multiple Grade 1 Winner Rushing Fall To Be Offered At Fasig-Tipton November Sale

Female turf division leader Rushing Fall, a Breeders' Cup champion and multiple Grade 1 winner, will be offered at this year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

The 5-year-old mare will be consigned by Indian Creek, agent, on behalf of the Edwards family's e Five Racing Thoroughbreds.

Trained throughout her career by four-time Eclipse champion trainer Chad Brown, Rushing Fall is a six-time Grade 1 winner of $2,553,000. She is one of just three females in the modern era to win Grade 1 races at two, three, four, and five, alongside Beholder and Lady Eli.

Since winning her career debut at Belmont in September of her 2-year-old year, Rushing Fall has competed exclusively in graded stakes company, amassing 10 career graded stakes wins at five different tracks from coast-to-coast. Her impeccable record counts 11 wins and two seconds from 14 career starts.

At two, Rushing Fall won the Grade 3 Jessamine Stakes by more than three lengths in her second career start. In her next start, she captured the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on her way to being named a finalist for Eclipse champion 2-year-old filly.

At three, she notched wins in the G2 Appalachian Stakes and G2 Lake Placid Stakes, followed by a gate-to-wire win in the prestigious G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

She began her 4-year-old campaign with another scintillating front-running win in the G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes. She followed that win up with a victory in the prestigious G1 Just a Game Stakes in near-course record time.

This year, at five, Rushing Fall is in arguably the best form of her career. She began her 2020 campaign with another brilliant wire-to-wire victory in the G3 Beaugay Stakes, and then successfully defended her title in the G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes, setting a new course record for 1 1/16 miles in 1:39.02. Most recently, she captured Saratoga's prestigious G1 Diana Stakes in near-course record time on Aug. 23.

Rushing Fall is now pointing toward a return to the Breeders' Cup, prior to the Fasig-Tipton November Sale on Sunday, Nov. 8 in Lexington, Ky.

Purchased as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale by agent Mike Ryan on behalf of the Edwards family, Rushing Fall is by leading international sire More Than Ready. He is the sire of the dams of more than 90 black-type winners worldwide.

Rushing Fall is out of the Forestry mare Autumnal, a 100-percent winner-producer.  She is a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Milam, as well as stakes placed Autumn Song. Rushing Fall is also a half-sister to Homecoming Dance, the dam of stakes winner Empire Line, as well as Hang a Star, a graded stakes placed performer this year. Her immediate family includes G1 winners Albert the Great and Trumpet's Blare.

“Rushing Fall is one of the more brilliant turf females we have seen in some time, compiling a near perfect record in capturing her division's most prestigious and competitive races,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning.  “She is a true collector's item, and we are honored that the Edwards Family has entrusted her sale to Fasig-Tipton.”

Vendors have noticeably increased the quality on offer and have been rewarded with both strong domestic and international participation. Our thanks go to Tattersalls for accommodating the relocated sale to its headquarters in Park Paddocks, along with Great British Racing International who have assisted in the promotion and airport transfers for those traveling from further afield. Judge Lainer Racing Stables To Disperse Racing Stock On ThoroughbredAuctions.Com

ThoroughbredAuctions.com announces the dispersal of horses of racing age owned by Tom and Sandra McKenna of Judge Lanier Racing Stables. Due to an unfortunate accident, the McKennas made the difficult decision to disperse their racing stock.

The auction will be an internet-only auction, with bidding opening Sept. 16th, and closing Sept. 23rd at ThoroughbredAuctions.com

Tom and Sandra will continue their New Mexico breeding program with foals from Conquest Mo Money, a Preakness contender and runner-up in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby. His first crop will race in 2022.

Judge Lanier Racing Stables has been a perennial leading owner of race horses in New Mexico. Since 2005 the stable has had earnings of $9,380,211. Their 2019 earnings of $1,595,458 were the highest yet for the stable.

“We've been leading owners at Zia Park for eight years, Sunland Park nine years, at least five times at Albuquerque, and five times at SunRay Park,” said Tom McKenna. “We have been leading owners statewide and recognized by the New Mexico Horsemen's Association every year since 2014. We have also been ranked nationally in the top 50 owners for the last six years in wins and in the top 100 in earnings for the last six years of the 29,000 owners. Management at Sunland Park informed us that since the inception of casinos in New Mexico, Judge Lanier Racing has the most wins on record.”

The McKennas' Judge Lanier Racing Stable is named after Tom's grandfather, Judge C.M. Lanier, who raised him. Tom began riding horses for his grandfather at the age of nine or 10 years old, and broke his first horse out of the gate at age 12.

The McKennas began their racing program in New Mexico in the early 2000's, with their first starter in 2004. The 2017 season brought them national recognition with their stakes winning son of Uncle Mo, Conquest Mo Money. A winner of the Mine That Bird Derby, and second in both the G3 Sunland Park Derby and the G1 Arkansas Derby, the horse put them on the trail for a run at the Preakness.

Included in the dispersal is Top Draw, the son of leading sire Into Mischief, who was the recent winner of the Charles Taylor Stakes on Aug. 29 and has earnings of $102,599. Also selling is the stakes-placed mare McWend, the 2019 New Mexico champion 3-year-old filly and earner of $197,190. Most horses in the auction will be offered with no reserve.

Prospective buyers will need to go to the auction website, and create an account. They will then need to request a bidder's number in order to bid. Please visit the website at ThoroughbredAuctions.com for more information or email info@thoroughbredauctions.com.

Enhanced Catalog, Virtual Inspection Videos For Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearlings Showcase Now Online

The enhanced catalog, featuring virtual inspection videos, for next week's Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearlings Showcase may now be viewed online.

A popular staple of Fasig-Tipton's November and July Horses of Racing Age sales, the enhanced catalog has been upgraded with a fresh look and new features that are being debuted for the Selected Yearlings Showcase.

The enhanced catalog provides an individual webpage for each yearling cataloged in the sale. Featured prominently on this page are “virtual inspection videos” (walking videos), which provide a profile conformation shot, as well as walking footage from the side, front, and rear.

Prospective buyers have the option of watching a “Virtual All Show,” which will play all walking videos on a continuous loop. Videos may be “favorited” either in the index, or on the video itself, to create a short list of hips that can then be shared via email, Facebook, or Twitter. Buyers may also utilize the index to filter the catalog by sire, dam, consignor, or region foaled. The index will generate a “short list” of hips that matches the buyer's desired criteria. When a user sorts by consignor, they will be taken to a consignor branded page and the index will offer a “Consignor All Show.”

The enhanced catalog also offers a new feature named “Consignor Insights.” Located next to the walking videos, Consignor Insights offer information supplied by a yearling's consignor that may not always be immediately obvious on a catalog page – information often traditionally found in a consignor's “front man” book.

Other features offered include conformation photos, stallion register information, and a pedigree updates tab.

“When designing the upgraded enhanced catalog, our goal was to provide the information and tools needed by buyers who cannot attend a sale in person,” said Max Hodge, Fasig-Tipton's vice president of client services. “The Enhanced Catalogue provides valuable resources that complement the on-site buyer experience.”

Fasig-Tipton will continue to add virtual inspection videos and consignor insights in the coming days as they are submitted.

The Selected Yearlings Showcase will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 9-10, at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky. The sale will begin each day at 10 a.m. Print catalogs are available from all Fasig-Tipton offices. The catalog may also be viewed via the equineline sales catalogue app, which also has links to each yearling's enhanced catalog page.

For buyers attending the sale in person, a list of registration requirements and COVID-19 protocols may be found at fasigtipton.com. Fasig-Tipton will offer online bidding and phone bidding services, as well.
