De Treville’s Gain It Earns TDN Rising Star Tag At Saint-Cloud

Rashit Shaykhutdinov's homebred 2-year-old filly Gain It (GB) (De Treville {GB}–Gagarina {Ire}, by Galileo {Ire}) registered a snug one-length tally tackling 6 1/2 furlongs at Saint-Cloud last month and returned to that debut scene of that triumph to claim 'TDN Rising Stardom' with a monster exhibition upped to seven furlongs for Saturday's Prix Amber Rama. Adopting different tactics after a sharp exit and in command throughout, the 7-10 favourite was untroubled in the straight and powered ever clear inside the final quarter mile to easily outclass dual winner Ser Sed (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}) by a mightily impressive seven lengths.

Gain It is the latest of five reported foals and one of three scorers out of a winning half-sister to GII San Clemente H. and GII Honeymoon Breeders' Cup H. victrix Altima (GB) (Zafonic) and G3 Prix des Chenes second San Domenico (GB) (Zamindar). The April-foaled bay is a full-sister to Listed Prix Volterra runner-up Gregarina (Fr). Descendants of her third dam Atropa (Vaguely Noble {Ire}) include G3 Prix de Psyche victrix Tenuous (GB) (Generous {Ire}), dual stakes-winning G3 Prix de Cabourg and G3 Prix d'Aumale third Kithira (GB) (Danehill) and stakes-winning dual Group 3 runner-up Tombelaine (First Defence).

Miramar Pounces Late For G3 Prix Sigy Triumph

Off the board in two prior starts at black-type level, Carlos and Yann Lerner trainee Miramar (GB) (Profitable {Ire}) lined out for Wednesday's 5 1/2-furlong G3 Prix Sigy at Chantilly coming back off an Apr. 4 conditions second over the track's six-furlong strip on seasonal return and she swooped late to snag a career high in ultimately snug fashion. Last term's Listed Prix Zeddaan fourth raced off the tempo in rear through halfway. Scrubbed along to close passing the quarter-mile pole, the 67-5 chance came under sterner urging thereafter and kept on relentlessly out wide to deny last term's G2 Flying Childers S. victor Caturra (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) by 3/4-of-a-length nearing the line.

“She was an easy Class 1 winner last year and we never had any doubt about her quality, but everything went wrong when we ran her in a Listed race on her last start of 2021,” revealed Yann Lerner. “We then gave her a long break off on the farm and decided to target this race when she returned to training as there are so few Group 3 races for 3-year-olds over this type of distance. She ran great on her first start [of the year], but we knew she needed the race and had improved a lot. She proved us right in very good style. Let's see how she comes out of this race before committing to any targets, but she will be kept in sprint races and we might be tempted by a race abroad in due course.”

Miramar, who hails from the family of stakes-winning matriarch La Meilleure (Ire) (Lord Gayle), is the fourth of six foals and one of three scorers from as many runners out of a winning full-sister to G3 Leopardstown 1000 Guineas Trial third What A Style (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). The March-foaled bay is a half to Listed Silver Tankard S. third The Rosstafarian (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}), the hitherto unraced 2-year-old fill Harriet's Angel (GB) (Harry Angel {Ire}) and a yearling filly by Blue Point (Ire).

Rockemperor Gets First Graded Stakes Win In G1 Joe Hirsch

Sometimes even when Chad Brown's horses aren't favorites in a graded stakes on the turf, they still find the winner's circle. Rockemperor (IRE) entered the starting gate for the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic with only one win in 2021 and zero wins in a stakes, but changed all of that with his upset victory at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.

Breaking from post four, Rockemperor was next to last of seven, with only Gufo behind him early in the 1 1/2-mile stakes. Channel Maker set the pace, running on the lead until the race's final turn, as Arklow passed him with both Gufo and Rockemperor going to the far outside to pass horses and bid for the lead. Gufo got there first, coming into the stretch with a short lead, but began to tire in the straightaway. Instead, Rockemperor found running room toward the center of the track, passing Gufo and drawing away to a two-length lead. Serve the King was second and Gufo held on to finish third. The final time for the 1 1/2-mile G1 Joe Hirsch was 2:25.61.

Rockemperor paid $33.20, $10.80, and $5.40. Serve the King paid $13.00 and $6.40. Gufo paid $2.60. Find this race's chart here.

Bred in Ireland by Haras du Mezeray, Rockemperor is by Group 1 winner Holy Roman Emperor out of the Muhtathir mare Motivation. He is owned by Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, Wonder Stables, Michael Kisber, and Michael Caruso. The 5-year-old horse was consigned by Mocklershill at the 2018 Arqana May Two-Year-Old Breeze-Up Sale and sold to Simone Brogi for $14,330. With his win in the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic, Rockemperor has two wins in six starts in 2021, for a lifetime record of 20-4-5-6 and career earnings of $914,404.

Invincible Spirit’s Hello You Registers Game Rockfel Triumph

Amo Racing's €350,000 Arqana August Select graduate Hello You (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) had failed to scale the podium in two starts since joining the David Loughnane yard, but made amends and then some with a battling victory in Friday's G2 Unibet Rockfel S. at Newmarket. The March-foaled bay, who had posted a May 24 6 1/2-length tally on debut at Wolverhampton, hit the board in both G3 Albany S. and G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. when under the care of Ralph Beckett. She raced too keenly in a first-time hood for her Loughnane debut in York's Aug. 21 G2 Lowther S. and did so again sporting the headgear once more when fourth in Goodwood's Aug. 28 G3 Prestige S. last time. Hello You inched forward from fifth to stalk the leaders in a handy third after an alert getaway in this straight seven-furlong test. Bustled along for her bid approaching the quarter-mile marker, the 7-1 chance gained a narrow advantage entering the final furlong and was driven out up the hill to deny TDN Rising Star Cachet (Ire) (Aclaim {Ire}) by 1 1/2 lengths for a career high. Cachet's pacesetting George Boughey stablemate Oscula (Ire) (Galileo Gold {GB}) kept on well once headed and rallied to finish a half length adrift in third.

“The Amo [Racing] team have thought a lot of her from day one,” said Loughnane. “She was very impressive on debut and you couldn't knock what she did at Royal Ascot. She's been beaten twice now by what could be described as the best 2-year-old filly in the country, in Sandrine. She arrived with us from Mr Beckett's in great order, she's strengthened up loads over the last month and we're very privileged and lucky to have a horse of her calibre in the yard. I think she'd go on any ground, I said that she deserved a Group win beside her name and I'm delighted she's proved herself. We've always felt she'll be better over a mile and she's just outstayed them today over the seven furlongs. I know Kia [Joorabchian] is very keen to potentially have a crack at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in Del Mar in November. I'm very grateful for the support the Amo team have given us. They've been a huge asset to the yard.”

Hello You, the fourth of six foals, is one of three scorers and the leading performer out of a multiple-winning half-sister to G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest victor Signs of Blessing (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}). The March-foaled bay is kin to a yearling filly by Kodiac (GB) and a weanling filly by Bated Breath (GB). Her second dam Sun Bittern (Seeking the Gold), a half-sister to the dam of G3 Prix Miesque placegetter Moisson Precoce (GB) (Lawman {Fr}), is an unraced daughter of Listed Cheshire Oaks third Sunray Superstar (GB) (Nashwan), herself a full-sister to G1 Prix Saint-Alary victrix and G1 Prix de Diane runner-up Nadia (GB).
