$400,000 Guaranteed Jackpot For Saturday’s Rainbow 6 At Gulfstream

Saturday's 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot will be guaranteed at $400,000 at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the fifth consecutive racing day Friday, when multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $681.02.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, featuring a mile optional claiming allowance on turf for 3-year-olds and up in Race 11. Live Oak Plantation's Souper Jaguar will seek to repeat a recent front-running score against Florida-bred competition at the same non-winners-of-one-other-than level.

Gulfstream Ups Rainbow 6 Jackpot to $350,000; Jockey Martin Ramirez Scores First Win Since 2017

Sunday's 11-race program at Gulfstream Park will have a guaranteed pool in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 of $350,000.

First race post time is set for noon.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 begins with the sixth race, a claiming event at a mile for 4-year-olds and up, and concludes with the 11th race, a maiden special event for fillies and mares at seven furlongs. The field in the 11th includes Doll Collection, a 4-year-old daughter of Tapit and out of two-time champion Groupie Doll, as well as Lady Boss, second in her debut June 12 on the turf, and Arindel's Tara.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 will also include three turf races, including the $75,000 Bob Umphrey at five furlongs on the turf.

The Sunday program kicks off with a pair of turf races. The early double has nine maiden claimers going to post on the turf at a 1 1/16 miles, while the second race features 3-year-olds and up at a mile on the turf. The maiden special weight event drew a field of seven including Mony, an unraced 4-year-old son of Scat Daddy purchased as a 2-year-old by Zayat Stables for $385,000. The colt finished fourth in his only start in March of 2019. Wesley Ward trains.

Multiple tickets with all six winners Saturday in the Rainbow 6 were each worth $999.94.

Jockey Ramirez Back in Winner's Circle
Jockey Martin Ramirez won his 1,400th career race Saturday afternoon and first since 2017 when he led gate-to-wire aboard Capeline in Gulfstream's fifth race.

Ramirez fractured his neck in a spill at Gulfstream on May 13, 2017. The graded stakes-placed jockey, a leading rider in Canada and Mexico, had ridden for the first time in three years June 17 when he was sixth aboard Capeline.

“I started back [galloping] six month ago,” Ramirez said. “It's nice to be back.”

Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout On Special Tuesday Card At Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park's special Tuesday program will feature mandatory payouts of the 20-cent Rainbow 6, 50-cent Late Pick 5 and $1 Super Hi 5.

First race post at the Hallandale Beach, Fla., track is noon Eastern. The Rainbow 6 begins with Race 4, a maiden event for fillies and mares going five furlongs on the turf.

There will be three turf races in the sequence, including the seventh race, an allowance optional claiming event at five furlongs for 3-year-olds with a purse of $54,500. The sequence wraps up with another five furlong turf event for claiming fillies and mares.

Multiple tickets with six winners Sunday were each worth $9,004.40.

NOTE: Waterford Stables LLC's Summer in the City, a 3-year-old filly by Summer Front, drove past a game She's Just Quality under jockey Edgard Zayas down the stretch to win Sunday's sixth race, a maiden special weight event over a mile turf course. Making her third start for trainer Todd Pletcher, Summer in the City covered the mile in 1:35.98… Zayas rode three winners Sunday. Along with Summer in the City he won the fourth aboard Gran Old Parr ($4.80) and the 10^th on Lovely Luvy ($5.80).

Gulfstream Guarantees Rainbow 6 Jackpot For $500,000 Ahead Of Tuesday’s Mandatory Payout

With a mandatory payout scheduled for Tuesday's special program, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $500,000 Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover of $6,143.85.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the eighth consecutive racing day Saturday, when multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $934.64.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11

Mandatory payouts of the Late Pick 5 and Super Hi-5 have also been scheduled for Tuesday's program.

Nominations Lists for Three July 4^th Stakes Released
Fountain of Youth (G2) winner Ete Indien and Roar Stakes victor Double Crown top the nominations list for the $75,000 Carry Back, one of three stakes scheduled for next Saturday's July 4 program at Gulfstream Park.

The Carry Back, a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds, will be joined by the $75,000 Azalea, a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-old fillies, and the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint, a five-furlong turf dash for 3-year-olds and up, on the holiday program.

The Biancone-trained Ete Indien, who finished third behind Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Tiz the Law in the Curlin Florida Derby (G1), is expected to run in the Haskell Invitational (G1) at Monmouth a week later.

Kathy Ritvo-trained Double Crown is coming off a gutsy half-length victory over graded-stakes winner Green Light Go last time out in the May 16 Roar Stakes at Gulfstream. The Ritvo-trained Ournationonparade, who captured the Maryland Million Nursery last season, has also been nominated to the Carry Back after finishing a wide fourth behind his Reeves Thoroughbred Racing stablemate in the Roar.

With Verve, who captured the Hutcheson during Gulfstream's Championship Meet, is also prominent on the nominations list.

Highly promising Boerne and stakes-winning Sound Machine are among 15 nominations for the Azalea. Boerne had a three-win streak broken last time out in the Game Face, in which she set the pace before being overtaken late by Up in Smoke. Sound Machine, who captured the Glitter Woman during the Championship Meet, finished second in the Feb. 22 Any Limit last time out.

Multiple-stakes winners Lady's Island and Pay Any Price give Averill Racing LLC and Matties Racing LLC a strong 1-2 punch on the nominations list for the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint. Lady's Island has won eight of her last nine starts, including the May 16 Musical Romance last time out. Pay Any Price, the 10-year-old five-furlong course record holder, won the Umphrey back-to-back in 2017-18.
