$4.1 Million Bet Into Gulfstream Rainbow 6; Winning Tickets Each Worth $61,593

There were multiple winning tickets on Sunday's mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., with each ticket returning $61,593.78

There was $4,159,821 bet into Sunday's Rainbow 6. The carryover pool was $1.137 million.

Winners of races in the Rainbow 6 were:
– 6th Race:          Pseudonym $10.20
– 7th Race:          Flawless Moon $8.40
–  8th Race:          Heir Ball $17.20
–  9th Race:          Worth Avenue $10.80
–  10th Race:        Sensible Myth $20
–  11th Race:        Passion Plus $15

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Racing resumes Thursday at Gulfstream with a $100,000 guaranteed pool in the Rainbow 6 and a Super Hi 5 carryover of $3,665.47.

'Myth' Proves Herself in Sunday's Dayatthespa
Courtesy of a Hall of Fame ride by Edgar Prado, Sensible Myth pulled off an upset over 6-5 favorite Kelsey's Cross in Sunday's $60,000 Dayatthespa Stakes at Gulfstream Park.

Diamond Racing Inc.'s Sensible Myth ($20) saved ground into the stretch before kicking in through the stretch to prevail over Kelsey's Cross by a neck to win her first career stakes in her third start for trainer Leo Gabriel Jr.

Kelsey's Cross pressed pacesetter Lagertha, a Chilean import who set fractions of 23.49 and 47.49 seconds for the first half in her U.S. debut, before moving to the lead on the turn into the homestretch. The favorite fought gamely in the stretch but fell a neck short of holding off Sensible Myth, who found room to ease off the rail at the top of the stretch. Great Sister Diane, the 5-2 second choice ridden by Miguel Vasquez, was forced to alter course at the top of the stretch before putting in a strong rally that fell a half-length short.

Sensible Myth ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.72 in the overnight stakes for fillies and mares.

Blewitt, Nicoletti Analyze Gulfstream’s Rainbow 6 Mandatory Payout Card

Sunday's program at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., will feature a mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 pool that includes a carryover of more than $1.137 million.

The Rainbow 6 pool on is expected to swell to more than $4 million Sunday after the popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 24th consecutive racing program Saturday.
Gulfstream analysts and hosts Ron Nicoletti and Jason Blewitt take a look at Sunday's Rainbow 6.

 

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 6-11, kicked off by a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight on turf that drew a full field of fillies and mares in Race 6.

The field includes two from the barn of trainer Patrick Biancone. Champagne Train, a $125,000 yearling, draws the three post after breaking from the 11 post in a mile turf event last time out. Lipslikecherries, a daughter of Dark Angel who brought $117,968 as a 2-year-old in France, will make her North American debut.

A full field of 12 was assembled for Race 7, a six-furlong sprint for $10,000 claimers that have not won two races lifetime.

A five-furlong optional claiming allowance for Florida-bred fillies and mares on turf drew 12 entries and two also-eligibles for Race 8. The race includes the return of Arindel's homebred Nacho Mama, who set a track record in her debut at 4 ½ furlongs in 2018. This will be the filly's first race since October.

The second half of the six-race Rainbow 6 sequence will start in Race 9 with a $10,000 claiming sprint for fillies and mares at 6 ½ furlongs.

The $60,000 Dayatthespa, a 1 1/16-mile turf overnight stakes for fillies and mares carded as Race 10, will be headlined by multiple-stakes winner Kelsey's Cross, who will seek to rebound from a disappointing effort last time out. The field also includes stakes winner Great Sister Dane, stakes placed Bienville Street, and Lagertha, a daughter of Scat Daddy making her first start outside South America for trainer Amador Sanchez.

An optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares at a mile on turf will close out the Rainbow 6 sequence in Race 11.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1.35 million when racing resumes Thursday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 19th consecutive racing program Sunday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $29,937.18.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover Thursday of $5,110.12.

Thursday's Rainbow 6 sequence will begin with the fifth race, a 6 ½ furlong event for 3-year-olds up with a $30,000 claiming tag. The sequence will include two turf races.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

NOTE: Trainer Javier Morzan saddled his first winner at Gulfstream Sunday when Storm the Bridge won the 10th and final race of the afternoon, returning $22.40. Morzan claimed the 3-year-old gelding in his previous race for $6,250. Samy Camacho was the rider.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1.2 million Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 18th consecutive racing program Saturday.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, including the $60,000 Opening Lead, a six-furlong overnight stakes for 3-year-olds and up.

Patrick Biancone-trained Diamond Oops is scheduled to prep in the Opening Lead for a start in the Sept. 5 Smile Sprint (G3). The 5-year-old son of Lookin At Lucky, who is a multiple graded-stakes winner who has been Grade 1 stakes-placed twice, captured last year's Smile.
