Columbus Day Program At Gulfstream Park West Features $175,000 Rainbow 6 Jackpot Guarantee

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $175,000 on Monday's special Columbus Day card at Gulfstream Park West near Miami, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the sixth straight racing day of the Fall Turf Festival Meet Sunday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $1,314.14.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $5,285.56 heading into Monday's card.

Monday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9 on a program that features a pair of strong maiden special weight races.

In Race 1, several well-bred, well-connected 2-year-olds are scheduled to run five furlongs on turf, including first-time starters trained by Todd Pletcher and Saffie Joseph Jr. The Pletcher-trained Speight is a son of Speightstown.  The Joseph-trained Under the Couvers is a son of Vancouver. Kelsey Danner-trained Doctor K, a son of Speightster, is scheduled to make his second career start, after finishing second behind impressive debut winner Drain the Clock in a Sept. 12 off-the-turf maiden test.

n Race 3, Pletcher-trained Aqaareb is set to debut in a mile maiden special weight race on turf. The Shadwell Farm homebred is a son of Bernardini.

In Sunday's feature race, a mile optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares, Joseph-trained Gibberish withstood race-long pressure while setting the pace and fought back to prevail by a nose over Bella Ciao. The 3-year-old daughter of Lea, who is owned by e Five Racing Thoroughbreds, collected her second straight optional claiming allowance while winning around two turns for the first time.

Defending Gulfstream Park West titlist Edgard Zayas guided Gibberish ($4.20) to her Race 3 victory before scoring aboard Arrivederia ($6.80) in Race 5 and Unpublished ($8.80) in Race 7.

Gulfstream Park: Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout On Sunday’s Closing Day

A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 will be held Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla., where the pool for the popular multi-race wager may swell to $5 million or more on the last day of the Spring/Summer Meet.

Gulfstream's hosts and analysts Jason Blewitt and Ron Nicoletti handicap Sunday's Rainbow 6 and offer some interesting plays.

The Rainbow 6 carryover grew to $745,396.50 Saturday after going unsolved for the 15th consecutive racing day. Tickets with all six winners Saturday were each worth $276.22.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12.

Race 7, a five-furlong turf dash for $12,500 claimers, drew a well-balanced full field of 12, plus an also-eligible. Race 8, a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-old fillies, will be contested by eight fillies, including Panarea, the 8-5 morning-line favorite who was claimed out of a 5 ½-length victory against slightly weaker.

A trio of optional claiming allowance races will be contested in Races 9, 10 and 11. Race 9, scheduled at a mile on turf, drew 15 fillies and mares, including four main-track-only entrants. Dynatown, a Mark Casse-trained daughter of Speightstown who is rated as the 9-5 favorite, steps into open company after defeating Florida-breds by 4 ½ lengths last time out.

Royal Squeeze, a winner of more than $600,000, is slightly favored over six rivals in a well-matched Race 10, a six furlong sprint.

Bienville Street, who came within a neck of winning the Monroe Stakes last time out, tops a field of 11, including three main-track-only entrants, in Race 11, a mile turf race for fillies and mares.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will conclude in Race 12, a five-furlong turf sprint for $12,500 fillies and mares claimers that drew 16 entries, including four also-eligibles.

There will also be mandatory payouts Sunday of the Late Pick 5 and last-race Super Hi-5.

There will be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $2,712.43.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $850,000 Thursday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 12th consecutive racing program Sunday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $2,505.54.

Thursday's nine-race program begins at noon.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Breeze On By Breezes for Saturday's $400,000 In Reality
Stonehedge LLC's Breeze On By breezed a half-mile Sunday at Gulfstream Park in preparation for Saturday's $400,000 In Reality, the 2020 Florida Sire Stakes open-division final.

The gelded son of Cajun Breeze, who will make a bid to sweep the series for 2-year-olds sired by accredited Florida stallions, turned in a 48.48-second clocking, the fifth fastest of 36 recorded at the distance.

Undefeated Breeze On By won the $100,000 Dr. Fager Aug. 1 by a length and the $200,000 Affirmed Aug. 29 by 7 ½ lengths.

Stonehedge LLC's Big Daddy Dave, who finished second in the Affirmed, breezed three furlongs in 36.83 in preparation for a scheduled start in the $75,000 Hollywood Beach, a five-furlong turf stakes on the Florida Sire Stakes program.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $800,000 Sunday at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 11th consecutive racing program Saturday, when multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $10,855.68.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $4,511.85.

First race post Sunday is noon.

Sunday's Rainbow 6 begins with the fifth race, a starter optional claimer at 1 1/8 mile turf. The sequence includes three turf races, one being a maiden special weight event for 2-year-olds going a mile.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day's pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
