Mekhtaal (GB), a Group 1-winning son of Sea The Stars (Ire), has been relocated from France to join Gordon Doyle's Knockmullen House Stud in Ireland.
The winner of the G1 Prix d'Isapahan and G2 Prix Hocquart for Al Shaqab Racing, the 10-year-old started his stud career at Haras de Bouquetot before spending last season at Haras du Grand Courgeon.
“Mekhtaal has arrived from France and I am very grateful to Al Shaqab for giving me the opportunity to stand him,” Doyle said.
“I am really excited to have a Group 1 winner who is by the brilliant and popular Sea The Stars standing at Knockmullen. He was a high-class racehorse and comes from a wonderful dam line. His dam Aiglonne is a group winner who has bred four group or black-type winners, and it is the family of Group 1 winners Germance, Almutawakel (GB) and champion White Muzzle (GB). And being out of a Silver Hawk mare he is bred on a similar cross to leading sire Nathaniel (Ire).”
Mekhtaal will be standing alongside Silas Marner (Fr), the only son of Muhtathir (GB) at stud in Ireland.
