FOX Sports To Present Special Coverage Of Sunday’s Arc De Triomphe

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced it has partnered with FOX Sports to present live coverage and analysis of a trio of Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” races from Longchamp Racecourse in Paris on Sunday morning, headlined by the Group 1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, a 12-furlong turf test for 3-year-olds and up with a scheduled post time of 10:05 a.m., Eastern.

Sunday's special broadcast, which is presented by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, will air on FS2 from 8-10:30 a.m., Eastern with the winner of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe earning an all-expenses paid berth in the Grade 1, $4 million Breeders' Cup Longines Turf slated for November 6 at Del Mar.

The broadcast will also feature the Group 1 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac at one mile for 2-year-old fillies [Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf] with a scheduled post time of 8:15 a.m.; and the Group 1 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at seven furlongs for 2-year-olds [Juvenile Turf] with a scheduled post time of 8:50 a.m.

All three races are part of the Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” Challenge Series with the winners earning automatic entry to the Breeders' Cup World Championships on November 5 and 6 at Del Mar. Also offered on the broadcast is the Group 1 Qatar Arabian World Cup at 1 1/4-miles for pure-bred Arabians with a scheduled post time of 9:25 a.m.

Travers Day Card Generates $51 Million In All-Sources Handle

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced that the 13-race Runhappy Travers Day card generated all-sources handle totaling $51,381,515 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

A paid crowd of 44,507 witnessed Essential Quality secure victory in the Runhappy Travers for reigning Eclipse Award-winning trainer Brad Cox and jockey Luis Saez. Essential Quality, owned by Godolphin, posted a final time of 2:01.96 in the 152nd running of the $1.25 million Grade 1 Runhappy Travers. With today's victory in the Runhappy Travers, Cox becomes just the third conditioner to sweep the Whitney and Travers in the same summer with two different horses.

On-track handle was $9,406,526.

NYRA was honored to welcome New York Governor Kathy Hochul to Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, where she presented the Man o' War Cup to the connections of Essential Quality. On Tuesday, August 24, Gov. Hochul made history by becoming the first female governor in New York State history.

For the third consecutive year, fans nationwide watched the Runhappy Travers action unfold on the FOX Broadcast Network as part of a special 90-minute telecast. Overall, the FOX Sports family of networks broadcast 7 ½ hours of live racing action from Saratoga which included all seven graded stakes on Runhappy Travers Day.

The Runhappy Travers was the centerpiece of a card featuring six Grade 1s among seven stakes in total, including the $750,000 Grade 1 Resorts World Casino Sword Dancer; $600,000 Grade 1 Personal Ensign presented by Lia Infiniti; $500,000 Grade 1 Ketel One Ballerina; $600,000 Grade 1 Forego; and $500,000 Grade 1 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial. Rounding out the blockbuster card was the $400,000 Grade 2 Ballston Spa.

The New York Racing Association, Inc. and America's Best Racing have extended their partnership through 2023. America's Best Racing will continue as a presenting sponsor of both America's Day at the Races and Saratoga Live.

Saratoga Live, produced by NYRA in conjunction with FOX Sports, is in its sixth season broadcasting the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course to a national audience on the networks of FOX Sports with weekend regional coverage on newly named broadcast partner SNY.
