Finalists Announced For The 2023 UK Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards

The 18 finalists for the 2023 UK Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards sponsored by Godolphin were announced on Friday. Three finalists remain in contention for each of the prizes which recognise and reward the outstanding skill, commitment and contribution of over 10,000 stud and stable staff in England, Scotland, and Wales. All of the finalists will receive a £250 prize for reaching this stage of the judging process. Judging day for the 18 will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, with the winners announced during a ceremony at York Racecourse later that day. The finalists are:

Eclipse Finalists To Be Unveiled on FDTV Jan. 7

The finalists in 11 equine and five human divisions for the 2022 Eclipse Awards will be announced live on FanDuel TV Saturday, Jan. 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National Turf Writers And Broadcasters (NTWAB), and Daily Racing Form announced Thursday.

Eclipse Awards are voted on by members of the NTRA, represented by member racetrack racing officials and Equibase field personnel, NTWAB, and Daily Racing Form, and are produced by the NTRA. The announcement of the Eclipse Awards finalists on FanDuel TV is sponsored by Keeneland and John Deere.

The Eclipse Awards ceremonies are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 26, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL, and will also be televised by FDTV. The evening will begin with the Keeneland Red Carpet show at 6:30 p.m. ET, hosted by Todd Schrupp and Christina Blacker, followed by the awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. ET. The ceremony, which will be streamed on additional outlets, will culminate with the announcement of the 2022 Horse of the Year. Finalists in the Horse of the Year category also will be announced earlier that evening.

Shortlists For UK GSSS Awards Announced

The shortlists for six awards of the upcoming 2022 Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Awards were revealed on Monday. Sponsored by Godolphin and run by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) in association with the Racing Post and Racing TV, the awards recognise and reward the outstanding skills, commitment and contribution of over 10,000 stud and stable staff in England, Scotland and Wales. The 2022 awards will carry total prizemony of £128,500, with as much as £30,000 available to a single yard or stud. The finalists will be announced early next year, with the judging day for the finalists scheduled for Feb. 21, 2022 and the winners announced during a ceremony later that day. Finalists Announced For Irish GSSSA

A total of 11 wild cards have been added to the Arqana Summer Sale on July 1. Comprised of nine horses-in-training, one in-foal mare and a black-type filly, the lots are from both Flat and National Hunt disciplines, with the highlight being G2 Italian 2000 Guineas hero Fayathaan (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) as lot 503.
