Fasig-Tipton has cataloged an additional five supplemental entries to its 2021 Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale.

These entries are cataloged as hips 665-669 and may now be viewed online. Print versions of the supplemental catalog will be available on the sales grounds at sale time.

These latest entries include:

  • Babybel (Hip 665): Four-year-old filly is a half-sister to exciting 3-year-old colt Caddo River, a 10-plus length winner of the Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn on Jan. 22. Caddo River will make his next anticipated start in Oaklawn's Grade 2 Rebel Stakes. A winner at two and three, she is offered as a broodmare prospect by James M. Herberner, Jr., agent.
  • Samandah (Hip 669): Five-year-old daughter of Pioneerof the Nile is a three-parts sister to Mnasek, who finished second in UAE 1000 Guineas at Meydan on Jan. 28.  By Pioneerof the Nile, she is out of graded stakes winner and track record setter Washington Bridge. She is offered as a broodmare prospect by Paramount Sales, agent.

The Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale will be held on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 8-9, in Lexington, Ky. Sessions will begin each day at 10 a.m.

Fasig-Tipton Releases COVID-19 Protocols For Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale

In advance of the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale in Lexington, Ky,. Fasig-Tipton has announced the following COVID-19 protocols will be in place in accordance with Kentucky regulations:

  • Screening measures, including temperature checks and health screening questions, will be in place to gain admittance to the sales grounds for all staff, participants and attendees;
  • Cloth face coverings are required in accordance with U.S. CDC recommendations;
  • Participants will not be allowed to congregate.  At least six feet of distance must be maintained between people;
  • Limited seating capacity in the sales pavilion;
  • Valet parking will not be available;
  • Increased cleaning and disinfection procedures will be implemented with regular sanitation of high touch surfaces at least every two hours;
  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is recommended for all attendees;

Voluntary drive-thru COVID-19 testing will be available on Friday, February 5 from 9AM to 5PM in advance of the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. Results will be available within 24 hours. COVID-19 testing is not a requirement for attendance at the sale.

The health and safety of sale participants is of paramount importance. These guidelines are intended as a supplement to assist with safe operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and are subject to change.

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged an additional 70 supplemental entries to its 2021 Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale.

These entries are cataloged as hips 581-650 and may now be viewed online.  Print versions of the supplemental catalogue will be available on the sales grounds at sale time.

These latest entries include:

  • Shieldmaiden (Hip 589): Daughter of Smart Strike is the dam of Fair Maiden, recent winner of the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita. She is from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners Secret Status, Private Status, and Dunbar Road. Offered in foal to Passion for Action, she is consigned by South Point Sales Agency, agent.
  • Julia's Ready (Hip 594): Daughter of M0re Than Ready is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Tom's d'Etat. A winner at two and an earner of $191,000, she is consigned as racing/broodmare prospect by Hermitage Farm, agent.
  • Mo See Cal (Hip 605): Daughter of Uncle Mo is a stakes winner of $348,258. Consigned as a broodmare prospect by Paramount Sales, agent.
  • Educating (Hip 610):  Young daughter of Elusive Quality is a half-sister to graded stakes winners Diversy Harbor, Keertana, and Snow Top Mountain. In foal to Hard Spun, she is consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency, agent.
  • Whoa Nellie (Hip 625): Multiple stakes winner and multiple graded stakes-placed earner of $353,830.  Immediate family of Grade 1 winners Awesome Humor, Emcee, and Constitution. Consigned as a broodmare prospect by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for Fox Hill Farms, Inc.
  • Playful Love (Hip 630): Stakes-placed daughter of Tapit, offered in foal to Twirling Candy. Consigned by Lane's End, agent.
  • Fiftyshays of Green (Hip 640): Stakes-placed daughter of leading broodmare sire Bernardini, from the family of Grade 1 winner Composure.
  • Dame Commander (Hip 642): Three-year-old daughter of War Front is a half-sister to European group stakes winner and U.S. Grade 1 placed Long Island Sound, and out of half-sister to Grade 1 winners Zenyatta and Balance. Consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by Four Star Sales, agent.

Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Catalog Now Online

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 580 entries for the main catalog of its Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale, to be held on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 8-9, in Lexington, Ky. Sessions will begin each day at 10 a.m.

The sale will also feature a supplemental catalog that will be available online and on the sales grounds. Fasig-Tipton will continue to accept supplemental entries over the next couple of weeks.

Hips 1-324 will be offered in the Monday session. Hips 325-580, followed by the supplemental catalog, will be offered in the Tuesday session.

“The main catalog has grown and improved once again this year, offering buyers additional opportunities at this last breeding stock sale of the season,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. “We have our usual strong group of racing and broodmare prospects cataloged, but also increased quality among the in-foal mares. A large group of nearly 250 'short' yearlings should prove very popular, as well.”

The Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale catalog may now be viewed online. Print catalogs will be available beginning January 21. The catalog will also be available via the equineline sales catalogue app.
