Breeders’ Cup and FanDuel Host $1 Million Fantasy Contest

Officials at the Breeders’ Cup, in conjunction with FanDuel Group, announced Wednesday a $1-million fantasy contest, giving fans the chance to win $1 million by picking the finishing order of the GI FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile presented by the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, to be held Saturday, Nov. 7. FanDuel is the official wagering partner of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The “Breeders’ Cup $1 Mil Perfect Finish Free Play” is live now on FanDuel.com and open until 3:15 p.m. ET Saturday. Players predict the full order of finish for each of the 14 entrants in the race and collect points for each horse whose finish placement is correct. Guaranteed cash prizes of $20,000 will be paid out to the top 3,100 participants. Those who get the correct finishing order of all 14 horses will win or share $1 million.

“As anticipation builds for the upcoming Breeders’ Cup World Championships, we are excited to offer daily fantasy players and racing enthusiasts a free way to have a real stake in the action this weekend,” said Justin McDonald, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Breeders’ Cup. “We thank our partners at FanDuel for their support and commitment to creating this fun and interactive contest.”

FanDuel Group includes the TVG and FanDuel brands and was first introduced as an official partner of the Breeders’ Cup in 2019.

Breeders’ Cup Offers Preakness ‘Spin and Win’

The Breeders’ Cup announced the $5k Preakness Spin to Win contest, which highlights the GI Preakness S, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 at Pimlico Race Course. The grand prize is $5,000, while five additional winners will receive $250 gift cards which can redeemed at the Breeders’ Cup Shop.

For more information on the $5K Preakness Spin to Win, which continues through 6:45 p.m. ET Oct. 3, visit www.breedersCup.com/Preakness. Winners must be legal residents of the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) and be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.

“Now that the Preakness Stakes has become a part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win and You’re In” Series, the anticipation and stakes are higher than ever before as fans wait to see which horse will win and go on to compete in the $6-million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Nov. 7,” said Justin McDonald, Breeders’ Cup Senior Vice President of Marketing. “The Preakness presents the perfect opportunity to engage the horse racing community during one of the sport’s biggest days and we’re hopeful that this contest will drive additional awareness and viewership surrounding the race as well.”

To participate, players spin the digital wheel and will be assigned a Preakness runner at random. Six winners will be selected from the pool of entrants who were assigned the winning horse of the Preakness.
