Waldlied Brings 2.2 Million Guineas From Jill Lamb

Newsells Park Stud offered group winner Waldlied (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) (lot 1839), a half-sister to G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe scorer Waldgeist (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), and Jill Lamb shelled out 2.2 million guineas for the G3 Prix Penelope victress. The new Tattersalls December topper, who is also a half-sister to Group 3 winner Waldkonig (GB) (Kingman {GB}), is in foal to Kingman (GB). Her Kingman yearling colt brought 425,000gns from Mike Ryan at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale earlier this autumn.

Consigned by Goldford Stud, agent, lot 1810 is carrying a full-sister to the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf heroine and will visit Wootton Bassett (GB) next year. Also the dam of listed winner and G3 Chipchase S. victress Classical Times (GB) (Lawman {Fr}), Sunday Times won the G3 Sceptre S. during her racing days and was second in the G1 Cheveley Park S. The Allan Belshaw homebred is also a half-sister to the stakes-placed Question Times (GB) (Shamardal), herself the dam of G1 Irish Derby winner Latrobe (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), Group 3 winner Diamond Fields (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) and the stakes winner Pink Dogwood (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), who was second in the G1 Oaks and third in the G1 Irish Oaks and G1 Pretty Polly S.

Northern Farm Strikes for Flotus at 1 Million Guineas at Tattersalls

Flotus (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) (lot 1798), who ran second in the G1 Cheveley Park S. earlier this year, broke the seven-figure mark at 1 million gns to Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm on Tuesday. The new topper, consigned by Gainsborough Thoroughbreds, also won a listed race and her dam is a half-sister to G1 Phoenix S. third Lottie Dod (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and the dual group-placed Rockaway Valley (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}). Bred by Newtown Stud and T. J. Pabst, the juvenile hammered at €65,000 as a Goffs November foal and progressed to make 125,000gns as a Tattersalls October yearling last autumn. Earlier in the session, Northern Farm representative Shingo Hashimoto was in action for the 750,000 gns Dandalla (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}) (lot 1735), among a trio of six-figure lots.
