Seth Young Added To EQL Games’ Board Of Directors

After a year that has seen the lottery startup significantly expand its content, licensing, and technology offerings, EQL Games announces the addition of Seth Young to its board of directors. Young brings over 15 years of experience in interactive gaming and technology to the pioneering lottery company that has created a new lottery-style live sports category in the U.S. In 2020, EQL Games launched live horse racing draw game Win Place Show, the first ever such draw game, through all 3,000+ Kentucky Lottery retail terminals.

“It's rare when you see something truly unique and category-defining in the gaming industry,” said Young. “Under the leadership of (Founder & CEO) Brad Cummings, the vision EQL Games has crafted through its development of proprietary lottery and gambling entertainment content represents one of those rare occasions. At a time when lotteries, casino operators, and online operators are starving for new, unique content, EQL Games is in a perfect position to prosper with an exciting new portfolio of games and modern technology stack. I believe strongly in the upside for EQL Games.”

Young currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at Fifth Street Gaming Digital, joining from PointsBet, where he most recently served as the company's Chief Innovation Officer. Young also serves as Managing Partner at The Strategy Organization. Prior to PointsBet, Young served as Executive Director of Online Gaming at Foxwoods Resort Casino, where he was responsible for the strategic development and oversight of Foxwoods' existing and emerging interactive gaming efforts. Prior to Foxwoods, Young served as Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of Flower City Gaming, President at SY Ventures, and Director of Strategy at TexasHoldem.com.

Young has a proven track record of continuously being at the forefront of new and relevant online gaming technologies and trends and was recognized for both the Innovation Group's Emerging Leaders of Gaming Award and Global Gaming Magazine's 40 under 40 in 2018.

“Adding someone of Seth's impact in the larger gaming industry allows us to immediately expand our vision and reach,” said Cummings. “His influence on EQL could not come at a better time as we work to transition from a retail-only focus to an omni-channel approach to lottery and gaming. We know how fortunate we are to have Seth on our team and look forward to creating significant growth for EQL Games, our league partners, and our lottery-style live sports content in the lottery and gaming industries.”

Breeders’ Cup To Partner With EquiLottery Games For Two Championships Races

Kentucky Lottery players can be part of the action at this week's Breeders' Cup World Championships as two races will be featured in Kentucky's Win Place Show game. In its first year of operation, the live horse racing lottery game is available at thousands of lottery terminals across the state.

Kentucky Lottery players will be able to buy a quick pick lottery ticket which includes three horses featured in the TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance on Friday, Nov. 6 and the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday, Nov. 7. This year's edition of the Breeders' Cup is being held at the historic Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.

“It was my first trip to the Breeders' Cup in 2009 that gave me the idea for what it is now Win Place Show,” said EquiLottery Games Founder and CEO Brad Cummings. “I was so captured by the excitement of this two-day event and out of that experience, I was inspired to develop a way to bring new people to a sport that had eluded me until my 30s. Having the Breeders' Cup join our iconic catalog of sports brands is literally a dream come true. We look forward to bringing these exceptional races to players all across the Commonwealth.”

Players will be able to purchase Win Place Show tickets based on the two Breeders' Cup races on Nov. 6 and 7 at any Kentucky Lottery retailer. All tickets are two dollars and quick pick-only which means players do not have to be an expert in horse racing to win money at the races through Win Place Show. Each ticket has a QR code that allows players to download the Win Place Show mobile app. Players will be directed to the NBC telecast for the live stream and back to the mobile app for race replays. As part of this collaboration, the Kentucky Lottery and Win Place Show will be holding social media contests and placing in-store signage in nearly all locations to build excitement and awareness around the game.

“We are excited to be running the upcoming Breeders' Cup World Championships in Kentucky and to be able to bring the races to all Kentucky Lottery players through the Win Place Show game,” said Breeders' Cup Senior Vice President, Marketing Justin McDonald. “As always, the event will showcase the top Thoroughbred talent in the world, and this year fans in Kentucky will have even more reason to cheer and tune-in to NBC Sports thanks to Win Place Show.”

The Breeders' Cup joins a growing list of iconic sports brands that have teamed up with EquiLottery Games to grow this live sports lottery game category. Over the past year, EquiLottery Games has announced licensing agreements with iconic sports brands including Major League Baseball, NASCAR, the National Basketball Association, and the Preakness Stakes. Win Place Show has been developed in partnership with AmTote International and 1 S/T Technologies, the leader in horse racing technology.

EquiLottery Enters Licensing Agreement With NBA

EquiLottery Games, the leading live sports lottery game developer, announced today that it reached an agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA) that will see EquiLottery launch a new, officially-licensed lottery draw game based on the outcomes of NBA games. Using the marks and logos of the NBA and its teams, EquiLottery Games will create a lottery game, Slam Dunk Dollar$, that is scheduled to run throughout the next NBA season. The NBA lottery game will complement the other team sport games that EquiLottery Games is offering.

Based on the patented game platform developed by EquiLottery Games, Slam Dunk Dollar$ will be created in the same format as the company's other team sports games. Players purchase a quick-pick ticket that features 10 pre-selected NBA games. Winning tickets match anywhere from 7 out of 10 winning teams to 10 out of 10 winners, with four prize tiers and overall odds of just 6 to 1. Earlier this year, EquiLottery Games announced that the system powering these games has been completed; lotteries will now be able to implement the NBA-themed game.

“We are proud to welcome the NBA into the EquiLottery Games family of live lottery sports games,” said Brad Cummings, Founder and CEO. “Combined with our other league partners, the NBA relationship allows us to offer year-round games to U.S. lotteries based on popular team sports under the same game format.”

“The EquiLottery Games product is an innovative new offering in the lottery space and offers our fans yet another way to engage with NBA games,” said the NBA's Senior Vice President of Fantasy & Gaming, Scott Kaufman-Ross. “We are excited to bring this new product to market as this new gaming category emerges.”

Preakness Stakes To Be Featured In Kentucky Lottery’s Win Place Show On Oct. 3

EquiLottery Games and The Stronach Group have agreed to offer the Preakness Stakes through Win Place Show, the first ever lottery game based on the results of live horse race. Currently being offered by the Kentucky Lottery, Win Place Show features one race per day from racetracks across the U.S. and Preakness 145 will be the first Triple Crown race to be featured through this platform. Win Place Show launched statewide in Kentucky on August 16th of this year.

“We have the pleasure of working with some of the most iconic brands in U.S. sports and gaming,” said EquiLottery Games CEO Brad Cummings. “Offering the Preakness Stakes through Win Place Show means we will be able to offer premium content to our player base through the convenience of the Kentucky Lottery retailer network. It is clear The Stronach Group shares our vision for innovative ways to bring new fans to horse racing and we look forward to continuing to build upon those mutual goals in the future.”

Due to this partnership, lottery players will be able to purchase Win Place Show draw game tickets based on the results of the Preakness Stakes at all lottery retailers in Kentucky. One of the premiere events on the U.S. sports calendar every year, the Preakness Stakes will run on October 3rd this year at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. This is the first time the Preakness will run as the last Triple Crown event of the year.

“We're excited to bring the final leg of the Triple Crown to Kentucky Lottery players,” said Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Mary Harville. “We believe they'll enjoy being able to play the game for one of the highest-profile races of the year, and we look forward to hopefully creating lots of winners that day.”

Win Place Show gives players a unique lottery experience by purchasing a two-dollar draw game ticket whose winnings are based on the results of a live horse race later that day. A QR code on each ticket allows players to download the Win Place Show mobile app to watch the race of each day live or on replay, scan tickets to check winnings, and set up a profile to help store and track their tickets throughout the day.
