Mishriff Leads Trio Of New Sumbe Stallions As 2024 Fees Announced

Following the news that a pair of Group 1-winning juveniles will be joining the Sumbe roster in 2024 earlier this month, multiple Group 1 winner Mishriff (Ire) (Make Believe {GB}) anchors the five-strong Sumbe roster at Haras de Montfort et Preaux, Nurlan Bizakov's operation announced on Tuesday morning. The three-time top-level scorer will stand for €17,500 in his first season, after a setback ruled him out of the 2023 covering season.

A winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic, Prix du Jockey Club and International S. to go with five other Group 1 placings, the 7-year-old is joined by French Champion Juvenile Angel Bleu (Fr) (Dark Angel {Ire}), who won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and the Criterium International among other contests. He will stand for €9,000. The second Group 1-winning juvenile and third new stallion overall is Sumbe homebred Belbek (GB) (Showcasing {GB}), who also triumphed in the Lagardere. His fee has been set at €7,000.

Rounding out the roster is G1 Commonwealth Cup hero Golden Horde (Ire) (Lethal Force {Ire}), who has first yearlings next year at €6,000; and De Treville (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), a half-brother to leading first-season sire Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), who will hold court for €3,000. The latter has already sired the stakes winner Gregarina (Fr), who was second in the G3 Prix Quincey and two other group horses.

“I am proud to announce that in 2024 Sumbe will offer two new exciting stallions Angel Bleu and Belbek,” said Sumbe's Nurlan Bizakov. “They are both champions by proven sires of sires and with deep, distinguished pedigrees. Mishriff needs no introduction and I am confident that he will receive strong support from French and international breeders in the new season. We have also adjusted the fees for Golden Horde and De Treville to make them even more attractive. The Sumbe team will be happy to show all our stallions and discuss any potential plans with breeders.”

De Treville’s Gain It Earns TDN Rising Star Tag At Saint-Cloud

Rashit Shaykhutdinov's homebred 2-year-old filly Gain It (GB) (De Treville {GB}–Gagarina {Ire}, by Galileo {Ire}) registered a snug one-length tally tackling 6 1/2 furlongs at Saint-Cloud last month and returned to that debut scene of that triumph to claim 'TDN Rising Stardom' with a monster exhibition upped to seven furlongs for Saturday's Prix Amber Rama. Adopting different tactics after a sharp exit and in command throughout, the 7-10 favourite was untroubled in the straight and powered ever clear inside the final quarter mile to easily outclass dual winner Ser Sed (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}) by a mightily impressive seven lengths.

Gain It is the latest of five reported foals and one of three scorers out of a winning half-sister to GII San Clemente H. and GII Honeymoon Breeders' Cup H. victrix Altima (GB) (Zafonic) and G3 Prix des Chenes second San Domenico (GB) (Zamindar). The April-foaled bay is a full-sister to Listed Prix Volterra runner-up Gregarina (Fr). Descendants of her third dam Atropa (Vaguely Noble {Ire}) include G3 Prix de Psyche victrix Tenuous (GB) (Generous {Ire}), dual stakes-winning G3 Prix de Cabourg and G3 Prix d'Aumale third Kithira (GB) (Danehill) and stakes-winning dual Group 3 runner-up Tombelaine (First Defence).

Freshman Sire De Treville Off The Mark at Salon-de-Provence

Haras du Mezeray resident De Treville (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) became the latest European freshman sire off the mark when Rashit Shaykhutdinov's homebred Diadema (Fr) (f, 2, De Treville {GB}–Panja {Ire}, by Dalakhani {Ire}) shed maiden status in Saturday's 5 1/2-furlong Prix des Alpilles at Salon de Provence. She had previously hit the board in starts at Marseille-Borely and was confidently supported into favouritism for this third start. Outbreaking all six rivals for an immediate lead, the 6-5 pick was stoked into action when threatened at the top of the two-furlong straight and kept on strongly under late urging to comfortably hold Alromy (Fr) (Al Wukair {Ire}) by two lengths. Diadema is the latest of four foals and second winner produced by a half-sister to GSW G2 German 1000 Guineas runner-up Peace In Motion (Hat Trick {Jpn}) and the dual stakes scorer Peace Society (Iffraaj {GB}). The April-foaled bay's MGSW second dam Peace Royale (Ger) (Sholokhov {Ire}) is kin to three black-type performers headed by G3 Fahrhofer Stutenpreis victrix Peaceful Love (Ger) (Dashing Blade {GB}), herself the dam of last term's G3 Prix La Force winner Pao Alto (Fr) (Intello {Ger}). Sales history: €20,000 Ylg '20 AROCT. Lifetime Record: 3-1-1-1, €15,300. Video, sponsored by TVG.
