No Risk At All Increased to €20,000 As Haras De Montaigu Releases 2024 Roster

Star jumps sire No Risk At All (Fr) will cover a limited book at Haras de Montaigu in 2024, the stud announced on Thursday. His €20,000 live foal fee, an increase of €2,000 from 2023, leads the five-strong roster.

Dabirsim’s Horizon Dore Swoops Late For Prix Dollar Triumph

Patrice Cottier trainee Horizon Dore (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}–Sweet Alabama {Fr}, by Enrique {GB}), who prevailed in July's G2 Prix Eugene Adam, doubled his pattern-race tally when snagging this month's G3 Prix du Prince d'Orange at ParisLongchamp and secured a fourth straight success when returning to the Bois de Boulogne venue for a taking victory Saturday's G2 Qatar Prix Dollar.

Unhurried and settled back in the field to race several lengths off the clear leader Jack Darcy (Ire) (Gleneagles {Ire}) in seventh until turning for home, the 7-10 favourite made eyecatching progress on the bridle in the straight and unleashed a devastating turn of foot once shaken up with 350 metres remaining to usurp Jack Darcy by 1 1/4 lengths nearing the line. The long-time leader's frontrunning tactics almost paid dividends and he kept on well to hold Erevann (Fr) (Dubawi {Ire}) by a neck for second.

“He has a huge talent, we have seen that since the start of the season and we are very lucky to have him,” reflected Pauline Chehboub. “Mickael [Barzalona] said he broke well and he did what he wanted and he has that very good acceleration that champion horses have. We want to get back our title in the [G1] Qipco Champion S. [having won with Sealiway in 2021]. I can't wait to be there and see you in Ascot.”

Pedigree Notes
Horizon Dore, the latest of eight foals and runners, is one of seven scorers out of a multiple-winning half to the stakes-placed duo Zayade (Fr) (Country Reel) and Winter Springs (Fr) (Stormy River {Fr}). The March-foaled bay's third dam Haumette (Fr) (Mille Balles {Fr}), who hails from a family featuring European champion and Irish Derby-winning sire Prince Regent (Fr) (Right Royal {Fr}), is kin to G2 Prix du Conseil de Paris and dual G3 Prix d'Hedouville-winning sire Robore (Fr) (Zino {GB}). Horizon Dore is a half-brother to G3 Prix du Calvados victrix and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf third Cavale Doree (Fr) (Sunday Break {Jpn}).

Dabirsim’s Horizon Dore Impresses In Paris

June's Listed Prix Ridgway victor Horizon Dore (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}–Sweet Alabama {Fr}, by Enrique {GB}) followed up that second black-type victory with a personal best in July's G2 Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud and added lustre to his palmares with an impressive triumph in Sunday's G3 Prix du Prince d'Orange at ParisLongchamp.

Employing patient tactics several lengths off the tempo for the most part, the 3-5 favourite made effortless headway on the bridle in the straight to challenge with 300 metres remaining and powered clear once quickening to the fore at the furlong marker to defeat the Andre Fabre-trained duo Mr Moliere (GB) (Kingman {GB}) and Birr Castle (Fr) (Cloth Of Stars {Ire}), by 2 1/2 lengths and a short-head.

“Horizon Dore is a really nice horse, he was conceding weight all round, but we expected that,” revealed Pauline Chehboub. “He had worked well at home beforehand after being freshened up this summer. Being a gelding, we have ambitions abroad with him and he seems ready to travel now. His next race will be in the [Oct. 21 G1] Champion S. at Ascot. It's a race dear to our hearts after Sealiway's win and maybe history can repeat.”

Dabirsim’s Horizon Dore Is Different Class In The Eugene Adam

Impressive in the Listed Prix Ridgway at ParisLongchamp last month, having chased home Big Rock (Fr) (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}) in Chantilly's G3 Prix de Guiche, the Patrice Cottier-trained Horizon Dore (Fr) (Dabirsim {Fr}) showed what he is made of in Saturday's G2 Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud. Sitting off the early pace set by Knight To King (Ire) (Kingman {GB}), the even-money favourite who sports the Gousserie yellow-and-green brushed the Dermot Weld challenger aside with a 10.51 split from the two to the one and surged to an emphatic 2 1/2-length success from Maniatic (Ire) (Intello {Ger}).

https://twitter.com/i/status/1677711955547619329

Horizon Dore's first two starts in the autumn saw him win by a cumulative margin of 11 lengths, with the second seeing him beat the subsequent listed winner and triple group 3 runner-up Harry Way (Fr) (Galiway {GB}) by six with the eventual listed-placed Cambronne (Fr) (Alex The Winner)–a winner of this card's feature handicap–in third in Marseille-Borely's Listed Prix Delahante. Fifth to the subsequent G1 Prix du Jockey Club runner-up Big Rock in ParisLongchamp's G3 Prix la Force in April before getting closer in the Prix de Guiche, the bay whose ownership also includes Ecurie du Sud, Ecurie Gribomont, Daniel Dumoulin, François Delaunay, Chantal Becq as well as the Chehboub family's Yellow Agency, probably needs lively ground as he proved here and in the Ridgway.

Already gelded, Horizon Dore who was a bargain €45,000 buy at Arqana Deauville August could go the way of the Gousserie star Sealiway (Fr) (Galiway {GB}). “He's an easy horse to ride and has a big turn of foot,” Pauline Chehboub said. “We will travel with him, as he's a group one winner in the making who is versatile when it comes to trip. I think he'll improve again and we need to brainstorm with our associates, but we'll see about the Champion Stakes in October. He has huge potential.”

Pedigree Notes

Horizon Dore, who is kin to the G3 Prix du Calvados winner and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf third Cavale Doree (Fr) (Sunday Break {Jpn}), is the last foal out of Sweet Alabama (Fr) (Enrique {GB}) whose half-siblings include the multiple listed-placed Zayade (Fr) (Country Reel) and Winter Springs (Fr) (Stormy River {Fr}) who was second in the Delahante.
