Aidan O'Brien representative MAYFAIR (IRE) (Justify) is a full-sister to recent Listed Cairn Rouge S. runner-up Unless out of G1 Cheveley S. victrix Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), herself a full-sister to three black-type performers headed by four-time Group 1-winning sire Churchill (Ire). Her seven rivals include Dermot Weld trainee Tannola (Ire) (Awtaad {Ire}), whose four black-type siblings include last week's G2 Minstrel S. third and May's G1 Irish 1000 Guineas fourth Tarawa (Ire) (Shamardal). Tannola's multiple Group 1-winning stablemate Tahiyra (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr}) attained 'TDN Rising Star' status in this contest last year.

Daughter Of Clemmie Debuts At The Curragh

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Sunday's Observations features a daughter of a juvenile Group 1 winner.

14.00 Curragh, Mdn, €20,000, 2yo, f, 7fT
MAYFAIR (IRE) (Justify) debuts for Ballydoyle in the maiden won two years ago by the stable's star Snowfall (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) and carries obvious gravitas as the second foal out of the G1 Cheveley Park S. winner Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). That full-sister to Churchill (lre) already has a black-type performer after Mayfair's full-sister Unless finished runner-up in this week's Listed Cairn Rouge S. and it is significant that Ryan Moore has opted for her over the stable's fellow newcomer Grateful (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). A daughter of the ground-breaking six-times top-level heroine Tepin (Bernstein), who was an $8-million purchase by M V Magnier at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November Sale, she provides a formidable back-up for Rosegreen in this intriguing card opener.

UNLESS (Justify) is the second progeny by the Triple Crown hero to represent Ballydoyle after Saturday's 'TDN Rising Star' Statuette, and no less fascinating as the first foal out of the G1 Cheveley Park S. heroine Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). This race also sees the first 2-year-old runners by Galileo to emerge in 2022, with his duo including Flaxman Stables Ireland's Foniska (Ire), a Jessie Harrington-trained daughter of the G2 Kilboy Estate S. winner Bocca Baciata (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}).
