Son of Camelot Tops Goffs Day Two

KILDARE, Ireland–The momentum built up on day one of the Goffs November Foal sale carried through Tuesday when strong trade was again the order of the day. The step up in pedigree power on offer further buoyed trade and the trend of an improved set of figures also continued its upward trajectory.

At the close of business, 84% of the 254 offered foals changed hands for a total sum of €7,374,500, a 49% rise admittedly from a slightly larger number offered. This contributed to an average of €34,460 (+23%) and a median of €28,500 (+40%), both significant increases on last year.

Leading the way on Tuesday was a son of Camelot (GB) offered by his breeder Airlie Stud as lot 434 and purchased by Timmy Hyde's Camas Park Stud for €170,000. The February-born colt is out of The Fairy (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), who won a 2-year-old maiden at Wolverhampton in 2014 in the colours of Anthony Rogers and who is a half-sister to G1 Moyglare S. winner Chelsea Rose (Ire) (Desert King {Ire}), who in turn is the dam of dual Group 1 winner Kew Gardens (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

Camas Park have been dealing in high-stakes transactions at Goffs for several decades now and the farm's evergreen owner Timmy Hyde confirmed a return to a sale ring in 2022 would feature in the colt's future. “He is a lovely foal, a great mover and we have bought him for resale,” he said. “He is from a proper family so let's hope he is lucky.”

Tuesday's sale picked up right where it left off the previous evening when the second foal into the ring, lot 247, sold for €130,000. Just like Monday evening's session topper, this Exceed And Excel (Aus) colt, offered by The Castlebridge Consignment on behalf of Shadwell Estate, was bought by the Tally-Ho Stud team. The chestnut is the third foal out of the stakes-placed Ejaazah (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}), whose first progeny Elsals (GB) (Havana Gold {Ire}) showed plenty of promise when third in a 2-year-old maiden at York last month for trainer Richard Hannon. A date at a yearling sale next year under the Tally-Ho banner will no doubt feature in future plans.

The same could also be said for another Tally-Ho foal purchase, lot 270, a Starspangledbanner (Aus) colt sold by the Irish National Stud for €80,000. This chestnut is out of the former Jim Bolger trainee Fiuntach (Ire) (Intense Focus) who is a half-sister to the MGSWs Steip Amach (Ire) (Vocalised) and Ceisteach (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}).

The O'Callaghans added further to their portfolio when purchasing lot 333 for €75,000. The son of US Navy Flag was bred by Tommy Stack and consigned by Grenane House Stud.

Tally-Ho were also keen to support the progeny of their own young stallion Inns Of Court (Ire), and a half-brother to smart juvenile Gubass (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) offered by Ringfort Stud as lot 450 on behalf of breeder Tom Lacey set the farm back €80,000.

Lot 320, a Camelot colt, was offered by Tipperary based Stanley Lodge Stud and is the first produce out of Lady Magdala (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), a half-sister to G3 Zetland S. winner Max Vega (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) along with two other stakes performers.

“We're big fans of the stallion and this is a lovely foal from a good home,” remarked Michael Gleeson of Aughamore Stud after he signed for lot 320 for €120,000.

Westmeath based Aughamore consists of Gleeson and his brother Laurence and the duo, aided by Matthew Houldsworth, are an emerging force in the breeding and pinhooking sector.

“We bought a Mastercraftsman (Ire) colt here last year from Stanley Lodge and we sold him well at the yearling sales last month so we decided to go back to the same hotel so hopefully he will be lucky for us when we bring him back for sale next year,” Gleeson added.

Although he has already carved out a good reputation in the Southern Hemisphere where he was Champion First-, Second-, and Third-Season Sire in Australia, Zoustar (Aus) will have to do it all over again with his Northern Hemisphere progeny who will begin racing in Europe next year. However, he looks to have plenty of smart recruits to represent him based on sales results so far with his yearlings averaging £75,000 this year.

The appetite for his foals seems to be mirroring that of the yearling demand with noted judges Yeomanstown Stud giving £90,000 for a Zoustar colt. Lot 269 was consigned and bred by Airlie Stud out of the winning Acclamation (GB) mare Field of Stars (GB) and this transaction continues the good run in the sales ring for the mare whose other two offspring have sold for €90,000 and 80,000gns, respectively.

The O'Callaghans of Yeomanstown made another significant purchase later in the session when successfully bidding €98,000 for lot 444, a colt by Advertise (GB) from The Castlebridge Consignment. The dam True To Love (Ire) (Es Que Love {Ire}) was bought in this ring for €47,000 two years ago and is catalogued as lot 1112 in the breeding stock sale on Friday, back in foal to Advertise.

Several former top-class racehorses are represented by their first crops of foals this week and among those to find favour among buyers was 2019 G1 July Cup hero Ten Sovereigns (Ire). Joe Hernon's Castletown Stud offered a colt by Ten Sovereigns as lot 378 and the second foal out of Princess De San (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) was eventually knocked down to John Cullinan and Roger Marley for €90,000.

“We're perennial resellers so this colt will obviously come back to a yearling sale next year,” quipped Cullinan. “He is a good, solid, well-developed colt with a good walk. He has what we all want. Ten Sovereigns was a very talented racehorse and I've been impressed by the few foals I've seen by him. Actually he is part of what looks a very smart bunch of first-crop stallions.”

Cullinan was speaking from experience as he had only a short time earlier struck for another foal by a Coolmore first-season sire in Magna Grecia (Ire). Lot 372, out of the well-related Piscean Dream (Ire) (Dream Ahead), cost the Horse Park/Church Farm team €70,000.

On the day it was revealed that Tally-Ho stallion Mehmas (Ire) would have his 2022 stud fee doubled to €50,000, buyers and pinhookers remained keen to get their hands on his progeny. Among those was Michael Fitzpatrick of JC Bloodstock who went to €60,000 to acquire Grennanstown Stud's filly (lot 285) out of Gracious Lady (GB) (Royal Applause {GB}) while six hips later Hillwood Bloodstock bought lot 291 for €70,000.

Meanwhile Tally-Ho stalwart Kodiac (GB), whose fee has been maintained at €65,000, was represented by a filly offered by Phoenixtown Stud as lot 323 that sold to RC Bloodstock for €90,000.

The action continues from 10 a.m. on Wednesday when some individuals with world-class pedigrees are set to come under the hammer.

Wootton Bassett Leads 2022 Coolmore Roster

Wootton Bassett (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}), who will stand for €150,000 in 2022, leads the Coolmore Stud roster next year. Following the passing of his former stablemate, the breed-shaping Galileo (Ire) earlier this year, the dark bay has continued to burnish his reputation with 12 of his progeny winning stakes-eight at group level–in 2021. The fillies Incarville (Fr) and Zellie (Fr) took the G1 Prix Saint-Alary and G1 Prix Marcel Boussac, respectively, increasing his overall Group 1 winners to five. Juvenile colts Royal Patronage (Fr), Atomic Jones (Fr) and Topgear (Fr) all won group races, while Wootton Assett (Fr) took the GIII Virginia Derby in America. The stallion's Tamahere (Fr) was also second in the GI Jenny Wiley S. Stateside. He stood for €100,000 in 2021.

No Nay Never has also enjoyed a good year with his progeny and will command €125,000. The 10-year-old counts 11 black-type winners to his credit this term, led by dual Group 1 winner Alcohol Free (Ire). He has also celebrated group winners Zain Claudette (Ire) and Armor (GB) in England. His Unicorn Lion (Ire), a Group 3 winner in Japan, was recently runner-up in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen.

A trio of Group 1 winners have made their mark for Camelot (GB) in 2021, and the son of Montjeu (Ire) is priced at €75,000, up from €60,000 (originally €45,000) last term. One of 10 black-type winners is the G1 Futurity Trophy S. hero Luxembourg (Ire), while Santa Barbara (Ire) collected a pair of Grade I victories in America and Sir Dragonet (Ire) won the G1 Tancred S. Down Under.

The brilliant newcomer St Mark's Basilica (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), a five time Group 1 winner, will stand for €65,000. Rated the best in the world in 2021, he is also a dual Classic winner of the G1 French 2000 Guineas and G1 Prix du Jockey Club and joins his Classic-winning brother Magna Grecia (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) (€17,500) on the roster.

Roster veterans Starspangledbanner (Aus) (Choisir {Aus}) and Australia (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) will both command €35,000. One of a quartet of group winners out of seven stakes winners this term, State of Rest (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) scored a Group 1 double, with victories in the GI Saratoga Derby and more recently the GI Cox Plate. Starspangledbanner also sired listed winner and G1 Cheveley Park S. runner-up Flotus (Ire). Broome (Ire) and Mare Australis (Ire) won the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and G1 Prix Ganay, respectively, for Australia, who accrued 12 stakes winners, eight at the group level.

It has also been a successful year for Gleneagles (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who will stand for €15,000. Loving Dream (GB) was his first Group 1 winner in the G1 Prix de Royallieu and she was one of 11 black-type winners, six at the group level. First-season sire Churchill (Ire) is another son of Galileo and is priced at €25,000. His progeny already have a trio of black-type winners between them among his 23 winners. Last year's G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) is also at €25,000 and covered his first book of mares in 2021. Another Coolmore first-season sire is Highland Reel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) at €10,000. His Atamisque (Ire), one of 10 winners, won at the Group 3 level in Italy.

Royal Ascot hero Calyx (GB) (Kingman {GB}) will stand for €12,500, while Ten Sovereigns (Ire) (No Nay Never) is at €17,500. Both will have first yearlings in 2022. Three stallions will have first runners in 2022: Saxon Warrior (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) (€20,000), U S Navy Flag (War Front) (€12,500), and Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy (€10,000).

Circus Maximus (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will stand for €12,500 and is expecting his first foals next year.

Camelot’s Luxembourg In Control In The Futurity Trophy

Backed down to 4-6 favouritism as the heavy-hitters came out to play on Saturday, the new beau of Ballydoyle Luxembourg (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) gave his supporters a comfortable ride in Saturday's G1 Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster to head into winter quarters one of the leading members of his generation. Not the quicksilver he was when taking The Curragh's G2 Beresford S. on good going Sept. 25, the Westerberg colour-bearer instead moved through this soft-ground renewal with straightforward ease as Ryan Moore sought to collect without asking a serious question. After taking over passing two out, the rangy bay was quickly able to carve out safe advantage and extended that late on with a couple of light flicks with the whip to 1 3/4 lengths at the line. Compatriot Sissoko (GB) (Australia {GB}), who had helped force the pace, held on for second by a short head from Bayside Boy (Ire) (New Bay {GB}) after Luxembourg had secured a record-equalling 10th edition for Aidan O'Brien. “He's a really smart horse, very scopey and he travelled easy,” Moore said. “I lost my cover at halfway and I had to keep going. He took me to the front and when I asked him the question, he just waited a bit. I grabbed hold of the him the last 100 yards and he found a bit more. We're delighted with what he's done and he's an exciting horse to look forward to. It couldn't have gone smoother and there's more improvement to come.”

Luxembourg had not looked an obvious star on his winning debut over this trip at Killarney July 14, but that 2 1/4-length defeat of Tuwaiq (Ire) (Elzaam {Aus}) was followed by a performance of genuine dash as he put 4 3/4 lengths between them in the Beresford. Demonstrating an ability to accelerate sharply as he dispatched that rival and the eventual runner-up Manu Et Corde (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}), he was following a familiar path to this taken in recent times by the likes of the stable's St Nicholas Abbey (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) and Saxon Warrior (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}). Kept back initially by Ryan Moore racing on the wing as Royal Patronage (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) was kept honest by Sissoko on the front end, the imposing bay went forward as if in a piece of work at Rosegreen and at no stage did this look anything other than a comfortable stroll.

With the last four winners of this race going to win either and English or Irish 2000 Guineas the following spring, there is certain to be much debate over the intervening period as to the prospects of Luxembourg following in the steps of his sire who came back from this to land the Newmarket Classic in 2012. Given the snug nature of his two pattern-race wins, he goes into the recess with confidence high and ego boosted. “What he's able to do over four furlongs at home says that he probably wouldn't have any problems starting in the Guineas if that's what the lads wanted to do,” commented O'Brien, who was drawing level with Sir Henry Cecil in the race's annuls. “He would have preferred a stronger gallop, but he's a high cruiser and he got there a little bit after halfway. He was very babyish in front, but he's a lovely horse.”

“He's been coming along slowly and he's got a lot of class,” the Ballydoyle handler said. “Ryan was impressed with him. He's always been very exciting. The work he's been doing he shouldn't have been able to do over four furlongs, but that is what good horses usually do. He has a big, open stride, but that's what good horses have. Like human beings–the good athletes cover the most ground, don't they?”

Wayne Lordan said of Sissoko, “Donnacha has always thought he was a very nice colt. He only won his maiden a week and a bit ago. It was huge step up, but he looked like he could run very well and Donnacha was duly right. He feels like he's going to be a better 3-year-old. It was a very good run going into the winter with prospects for next season.” Roger Varian was pleased with the effort of Bayside Boy, who was third again as he had been in the G1 Dewhurst S. “He's a smart colt and ran a good race,” he commented. “He was a touch unlucky. When he needed room he didn't have any. I don't think it stopped him winning, but he'd have been a good second with a clear run. We'll winter him and aim him at a Newmarket Guineas, because I think he deserves that.”

Luxembourg, whose yearling full-brother was the highest-priced colt sold at this week's Goffs Orby Sale at €1.2million when secured by M V Magnier, is the third black-type performer out of Attire (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) alongside the G2 Mooresbridge S. winner Leo de Fury (Ire) (Australia {GB}) and the G3 Ballylinch Stud 1000 Guineas Trial and G3 Denny Cordell Lavarack Memorial S.-placed Sense of Style (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}). The second dam Asnieres (Spend a Buck) is a half-sister to the GI Breeders' Cup Classic hero Arcangues (Sagace {Fr}) who was responsible for Forgotten Voice (Ire) by Attire's sire who captured the G3 Glorious S. and Listed Wolferton H. before going over hurdles.

Attire is also kin to the G3 Prix de Flore winner Australie (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), who produced the Listed Carlingford S. winner and G3 Diamond S.-placed Hawke (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}) and the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr scorer Mireille (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}), and to the dam of the Listed Criterium de Lyon scorer and G3 Prix Thomas Bryon runner-up Private Jet (Fr) (Aussie Rules) and the Listed Prix Marchand d'Or winner and G3 Prix de Ris-Orangis second Princedargent (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}). Camelot Colt Tops Buoyant Arqana Opener

DEAUVILLE, France–A strong opening day of the Arqana October Sale saw a colt by Camelot (GB) top proceedings at €440,000, bought late in the session by Nicolas de Watrigant of Mandore International Agency on behalf of MV Magnier.

Consigned by the leading vendor Ecurie des Monceaux, lot 209 is a half-brother to the listed Prix Michel Houyvet winner Big Blue (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).

As has been seen throughout the European yearling season so far, there was a buoyant level of trade in Deauville on Monday, with figures exceeding the pre-pandemic returns of 2019.

Turnover from 180 horses sold reached €16,017,000, with the average of €88,983 being up by 53% on last year and comparing favourably to the 2019 figure of €81,362. The median of €65,000 was up from €60,000 in 2019 and €43,000 12 months ago. The clearance rate was also up at 82.5%.

Wootton Bassett In Demand

For much of the day colts by Siyouni (Fr) and Wootton Bassett (GB) had shared top billing, with each being sold for €420,000, to Coolmore and Anthony Stroud, respectively.

Wootton Bassett may no longer stand in France but his burgeoning reputation ensured that he played a significant role during the first session at Arqana. Anthony Stroud and Matt Coleman signed for four of his yearlings, including the day's co-second-top lot (lot 49). Though that colt out of the Frankel (GB) half-sister to Charm Spirit (Ire), bought for €420,000 from Ecurie des Monceaux, was for an undisclosed client, two of the quartet were bought for Alison Swinburn, who has enjoyed noted success with the stallion through Audarya (Fr). The G1 Prix Jean Romanet and GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf winner was bought from this sale for €125,000 back in 2017.

After signing for lot 14, a daughter of the Group 3-placed Harem Lady (Fr) (Teofilo {Ire}) at €210,000 from Haras d'Etreham, Stroud said, “She's been bought for the same connections as Audarya and will go into training with James Fanshawe. She's a lovely, athletic filly.”

That purchase was backed up a little later by the acquisition of lot 45 from La Motteraye Consignment. Knocked down at €270,000, the colt is the first foal of the dual winner Lolldaiga (Ire), who is also by Teofilo and is a granddaughter of the G3 Prix de Flore winner Louve (Irish River {Fr}).

Stroud Coleman also signed for lot 153, Haras de la Louivere's May-born colt out of the unraced Tubereuse (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}), a sister to the G3 Prix d'Aumale winner Lesstalk In Paris (Fr), for €310,000.

With 14 yearlings sold during the first session, Wootton Bassett's average for the sale stood at €200,857.

Al Shaqab and Etreham Partner Up

Al Shaqab Racing were also among the buyers of Wootton Bassett's stock, with the team going to €220,000 to secure lot 80 through Nicolas de Watrigant. Another from the Monceaux draft, the filly is a daughter of the South African Grade 3 winner and Grade 1 runner-up Olma (SAf) (Dynasty SAf), herself a granddaughter of the G1 Fillies' Mile victrix Teggiano (Ire) (Mujtahid).

Al Shaqab's purchases on Monday also included a Sea The Stars (Ire) colt bred on the same Kingmambo cross as Saturday's G1 Queen Elizabeth II winner Baaeed (GB), as well as the Al Shaqab stallion Zelzal (Ire), another Group 1-winning miler by the Aga Khan Studs stallion.

After going to €320,000 for the full-brother to listed winner Sivoliere (Fr) (lot 117) from the Etreham draft, Al Shaqab's Paul Hensey said, “He was our pick of the catalogue today. Obviously Sea The Stars is going from strength to strength and he's bred on the same cross as Zelzal, which was of interest to us. He will be trained by Stephane Wattel.”

Al Shaqab also formed a partnership with Etreham to buy the Haras de Fresneaux-bred colt by Almanzor (Fr), whose dam Rapid Transaction (A P Indy) is a granddaughter of the GI Kentucky Oaks winner and stellar producer Blush With Pride (Blushing Groom). Offered as lot 98 through Haras des Capucines, the half-brother to black-type earners Fastidious (Fr) and Central Park West (Fr) was bought for €180,000.

Siyouni Stronghold

Coolmore's support for Siyouni (Fr) yearlings has been strong this season in particular, but that's hardly a surprise given that it recruited Arc winner Sottsass (Fr) to the stallion yard in Fethard for the 2021 season and has already welcomed this season's outstanding 3-year-old St Mark's Basilica (Fr) ahead of next season. Those two stallions are both out of daughters of Galileo (Ire) but Monday's acquisition (lot 67) is a son of the listed-winning Montjeu (Ire) mare Modern Eagle (Ger).

Strong competition for the half-brother to the listed-placed Masterpiece (Fr) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) took agent Laurent Benoit to €420,000 and he later confirmed that he had been bought for the Coolmore partners.

Those partners sometimes include Peter Brant of White Birch Farm, who in his own right went to €350,000 for a filly by young Coolmore stallion Churchill (Ire). Michel Zerolo of Oceanic Bloodstock did the bidding on his behalf for lot 119, the half-sister to G1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Shakeel (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}), who was bred and sold by Haras de Montaigu.

“She'll be trained here in Deauville by Jean-Claude Rouget,” said the agent.

Zerolo and Brant also struck late in the day for lot 201, another of the colts to have contributed to a good day for Wootton Bassett. The grandson of the G1 Nassau S. winner Winsili (GB) (Dansili {GB}) was bought from La Motteraye for €400,000.

Bouchard Invests In Dubawi Filly

There was just one Dubawi yearling in the Arqana October catalogue and she will eventually join the broodmare band being assembled by Jean-Louis Bouchard, who bought the half-sister to G1 Prix Jean Prat winner Intellogent (Fr) (Intello {Ger}) for €340,000 through agent Gerard Larrieu.

“I love Dubawi,” said Bouchard , who was in the restaurant with Larrieu and trainer Pascal Bary as the Ecurie des Monceaux-consigned filly (lot 77) went through the ring. “I like the filly, she's very tall. I bought a stud about four or five years ago and we have been building that up and I need very good mares for the future. I think she should be a very good broodmare, she's the sister of a Group 1 winner, she's got everything [going] for her.”

Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland signed up one of the two Galileo (Ire) colts in the sale, a half-brother to the G1 Coral-Eclipse S. winner Mukhadram (GB) (Shamardal), sold as lot 55 through Haras des Capucines for €260,000.

“He's been bought for an established client who has horses in training in France, Ireland and England,” said the agent. “We thought he was a good physical and obviously he has a good pedigree. They're not making Galileos any more so we thought he was a bit of value.”

The colt is out of Magic Tree (UAE) (Timber Country), a half-sister to the Group 1 winners Mastery (GB) (Sulamani {Ire}) and Kirklees (Ire) (Jade Robbery).

Rising Stars

Cloth Of Stars (Ire), another Group 1 winner bred on the Sea The Stars–Kingmambo cross, has his first yearlings for sale this year and made quite a splash on Monday through lot 145, the half-brother to G3 Prix de Ris-Orangis winner Ocean (Fr) (Exosphere {Aus}). Bred by Julian Ince as Haras du Logis, where the stallion stands, the colt is out of Tevara (GB) (Compton Place {GB}), who is also responsible for the listed winner Aiming For Rio (Fr), by another Logis stallion, Rio De La Plata. The mare is out of the G2 Cherry Hinton S. winner Torgau (Ire), whose sire Zieten also stood at Haras du Logis.

“It's fantastic,” said Ince after Anthony Stroud signed for the son of Cloth Of Stars at €280,000. “We brought three here by the stallion and they loved them. Someone even accused me of cloning yearlings as they all look so alike. It's great to have a stallion who is producing such lovely stock.”

It was announced this week that last season's G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Victor Ludorum (Ire) (Shamardal) will stand at Haras du Logis from 2022.

A Duo For Australia

Niall O'Connor, who graduated from the Godolphin Flying Start course last year, got his career as a bloodstock agent off on a promising footing with the purchase of two yearlings for the Australian training partnership of McEvoy Mitchell Racing.

His second signing of the day at €185,000 was for lot 91, a daughter of Camelot (GB), who has enjoyed notable success in Australia through Group 1 winners Russian Camelot (Ire) and the ill-fated Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet (Ire). Consigned by Anna Sundstrom's Coulonces operation, she is the first foal of 3-year-old winner Pink Paint (Fr) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) from the Wildenstein family of Arc winner Peintre Celebre.

The agent had also struck early for lot 12, going to €105,000 for a daughter of Le Havre (Ire) and another first foal, this time out of the winning Rajsaman (Fr) mare Gouville (Fr). The further family includes a name familiar to Australian racing fans in Contributor (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}), a dual Group 1 winner in the country for John O'Shea and Godolphin.

“This was a team effort between Tony and Calvin McEvoy and their regular agent Damon Gabbedy, who unfortunately couldn't be here because of the travel restrictions,” said O'Connor, who has previously worked at both Keeneland and Magic Millions. He has also completed stints with agents Dermot Farrington and Jeremy Brummitt, with the latter charged with buying yearlings for Quantum Leap Racing, which is run by O'Connor's father, Eamonn.

He added, “While on the Flying Start I had a work placement with McEvoy Mitchell Racing at Flemington and they expressed an interest then in getting involved in Europe. Hopefully these two fillies can prove their worth on the track. The market has been so strong for colts this year. We looked last week at Tattersalls and came on here in the hope of finding a bit of value. The Camelot filly was one of the nicest on the sale and we're lucky to have her.”

Selling recommences at Arqana at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
