Fasig-Tipton Adds 15 Supplemental Entries To November Sale

Fasig-Tipton has released the first group of supplemental entries to its 2020 November Sale. These supplemental entries are cataloged as Hips 265- 279:

Star of the Empire (Hip 265): Three-year-old daughter of Empire Maker is a half-sister to two stakes winners, including Grade 1 winner Nereid. Nereid is in turn the dam of Figarella's Queen, a Grade 3-placed stakes winner. Consigned as a broodmare prospect by Royal Oak Farm (Damian & Braxton Lynch), agent.
2020 f. Quality Road-Up (IRE) (Hip 266): Weanling filly by champion sire Quality Road is a half-sister to Group 1 placed Monarch of Egypt. Her dam, Up, is a multiple group stakes winning daughter of Galileo who also placed in G1 French One Thousand Guineas. Consigned by Lane's End, agent.
Fancier (Hip 267): Young mare's second foal is 2-year-old colt Get Her Number, recent winner of the G1 American Pharoah Stakes at Santa Anita on Sept. 26. Get Her Number will make his next anticipated start in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Consigned by Vinery Sales, agent.
Synchrony (Hip 268): A stakes performer on both dirt and turf, this son of three-time leading sire Tapit is a six-time graded stakes winner of $956,652. From a prolific Pin Oak family, he is a half-brother to two stakes winners, including graded stakes winner Chocolate Kisses. Consigned as a stallion prospect by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
Indelible (Hip 269): Daughter of Tiznow is a half-sister to Essential Quality, recent winner of the G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity. He is slated to make his next anticipated start in the Breeders Cup Juvenile. Inedlible is out of a graded stakes-placed half-sister to Champion Folklore, who is in turn the granddam of undefeated Japanese Champion Contrail. Contrail has swept the first two legs of the 2020 Japanese Triple Crown and is seeking to win the third leg, the Japanese St. Leger, on Oct. 25. Indelible is in foal to champion Nyquist, who already has two Grade 1 winners in his first crop. Indelible's weanling filly, by Bernardini, will sell after her as Hip 270. Both are consigned by Lane's End, agent.
She's a Truckin (Hip 271): Daughter of Lemon Drop Kid is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Sheza Smoke Show, who is turn the dam of undefeated Grade 1 winning 2-year-old filly Princess Noor. Princess Noor will make her next anticipated start in Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Consigned as a broodmare prospect by Pope McLean (Crestwood Farm), agent.
Miss Besilu (Hip 273): Regally bred 9-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro is a half-sister to Horse of the Year Saint Liam, as well as Grade 1 winner Funtastic. She is also a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Quiet Giant, who is in turn the dam of another Horse of the Year in Gun Runner. Miss Besilu's first foal is Gun It, a multiple graded stakes performer. She is offered in foal to leading sire Into Mischief. Her weanling colt, also by Into Mischief, will be offered before her as Hip 272. Both are consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
Desert Rose Drive (Hip 274): Broodmare by A.P. Indy is a half-sister to three stakes winners, including multiple Grade 1 winner and Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady. Offered in foal to Medaglia d'Oro, she is consigned by Considine Farm, agent.
Fujairah (Hip 275): Multiple stakes-placed daughter of Ghostzapper from the family of Grade 1 winners Bodemeister and She's a Julie. Consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
Scarlet Bear (IRE) (Hip 276): Two-year-old filly and granddaughter of Kodiac is multiple group stakes-placed in England this year. She also competed in group stakes company at Royal Ascot. Consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by St. George Sales, agent.
Anabaa's Creation (IRE) (Hip 277): A stakes winner and Grade 1 placed on two continents, Anabaa's Creation is the dam of stakes winning 2-year-old Create a Dream. She is also a half-sister to the dam of recent G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass, as well as Eclipse champion Sistercharlie. Offered in foal to Breeders' Cup Champion Mendelssohn, she is consigned by Lane's End, agent.
Win the War (Hip 278): Five-year-old daughter of War Front was a stakes winner at two and three, as well as Grade 2 placed at three. She is a half-sister to four stakes producers. Offered in foal to Curlin, she is consigned by Four Star Sales, agent.
Inthemidstofbiz (Hip 279): Four-year-old filly has won three consecutive races, including a three-length victory in the G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes on Oct. 3 in her most recent start. Two starts back, she won the Satin and Lace Stakes. Consigned as racing/broodmare prospect by Buckland Sales (Zach Madden), agent.

Fasig-Tipton will continue to accept approved November Sale supplemental entries through the Breeders' Cup.

The November Sale will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, in Lexington, Ky. The sale will begin at 2 p.m.

Airdrie Stud Secures Breeding Rights To Complexity; Announces 2021 Fees

Klaravich Stables, Inc's Complexity, the Daily Racing Form's morning line favorite for both the upcoming Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Sprint and Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, will stand stud at Brereton and Elizabeth Jones's Airdrie Stud upon his retirement from racing.

Trained throughout his career by leading conditioner Chad Brown, Complexity earned TDN Rising Star status in his six-furlong 2-year-old debut at Saratoga when drawing off to win by 4 1/4 lengths in 1:09 3/5. Made the favorite for the historic Grade 1 Champagne Stakes in his second start, Complexity led every step of the way through fractions of 22 2/5, 45 1/5 and 1:09 2/5 en route to a dominant three-length victory. His final time of 1:34 3/5 trails only Uncle Mo – by .12 seconds – in the last 35 runnings of the stallion-making race, that also counts Jackie's Warrior, Tiz the Law, Scat Daddy, Daredevil, Union Rags, Maria's Mon, First Samurai, Dehere, Easy Goer and Forty Niner amongst its more recent winners.

While a quarter crack partially derailed his sophomore campaign, Complexity still managed to run one of the fastest Ragozin numbers of his three-year-old crop when earning a 3 in a dominant 7 1/4 length win against older horses at Aqueduct.

As a 4-year-old in 2020, Complexity has once again returned to top form. Following an impressive allowance victory over the talented Win Win Win at Belmont, Complexity set blistering fractions of 44 3/5 and 1:08 4/5 amidst a blinding rainstorm in Saratoga's G1 Forego Stakes. While he put away his rival pacesetters, it was Win Win Win that caught him in the final jumps after coming from last in the field.

In his most recent start, Complexity stamped himself as a Breeders' Cup favorite with a sensational two-length win over multiple Grade 1 winner Code of Honor in the G2 Kelso Handicap. His time of 1:33 4/5 was good for a 110 Beyer Speed Figure, marking the highest number earned by any horse at a mile or longer in 2020.

Bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, LLC, Complexity is sired by the hot young stallion Maclean's Music. His dam, Goldfield, counts three black-type horses from five to race including Valadorna, winner of the G3 Doubledogdare Stakes and a narrow second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. A $375,000 September yearling purchase by leading buyer Mike Ryan, Complexity was the most expensive yearling from any of the early crops of Maclean's Music.

Said his trainer Chad Brown: “Complexity is a very rare horse that has been number-one at every stage of his life. He was the most expensive yearling by his sire, the most highly regarded two-year-old at Stonestreet and, by far, our stable's best colt of his crop. He's an exceptional talent.”

Added Airdrie's Bret Jones: “We are extremely grateful to Seth Klarman and Chad Brown for the opportunity to stand Complexity. His resume is that of a sensational stallion prospect. He was a brilliantly precocious Champagne winner that has trained on to run the highest speed figure of any horse in America at a mile or more. He's by a truly ascendant sire that looks to have every chance to be important, he's from a top class Stonestreet female family, he was purchased by one of the all-time great judges in Mike Ryan and his talents are revered by one of the all-time great trainers in Chad Brown. Our hope is that he will be Mr. Klarman's next Breeders' Cup winner and we are committed to giving him tremendous mare support in working to make him a great Airdrie stallion.”

Complexity will stand for $12,500 S&N for any contract signed and returned before this year's Breeders' Cup.

Airdrie also announced the entirety of its 2021 fees.

“In keeping with what should always be the goal of any stallion farm, we feel we have priced our stallions where breeders have the opportunity to profit in the sales ring and help their mare produce Saturday horses,” Jones said. “We are extremely proud of our young roster that includes Cairo Prince, the leading third-crop sire by stakes winners, stakes horses, graded stakes winners and graded stakes horses; Upstart, who is currently the #1 first-crop sire in America by winners and is equaled only by Maclean's Music with his four 80+ Beyer performances by his 2-year-olds amongst all stallions; and Summer Front, who is outpaced only by American Pharoah and Constitution with three graded stakes winners from his first crop of 3-year-olds. All three of these leading young stallions began their stallion careers at a fee of $10,000 and we feel demonstrate the success that comes from the tremendous support they receive from Airdrie and our incredible, loyal breeders.

Catalog Now Online For Tattersalls Ireland Flat Foal And Breeding Stock Sale, Including New Yearling Section

The catalog for the Tattersalls Ireland Flat Foal and Breeding Stock Sale, which takes place Friday, Nov. 13, is now available to view online.

The Flat Foal and Breeding Stock Sale has produced some notable graduates this year including Group 1 Matron Stakes winner Champers Elysees, who was sold by Mantlehill Stud to Aughamore Stud for €12,500 in 2017 before being resold at the September Yearling Sale for €28,000 (US$32,766). Other notable graduates include Group 2 Norfolk Stakes winner The Lir Jet and Group 3 Molecomb Stakes winner Steel Bull.

Sires represented in this year's catalogue include Kodiac, Dark Angel, No Nay Never, Australia, Zoffany, Profitable, Aclaim as well as leading first season sires Mehmas, Belardo and New Bay.

This year's sale features a new yearling section, offering 109 yearlings, including 66 lots that were originally selected for the record breaking September Yearling Sale and are eligible for the €300,000 (US$351,088) Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes 2021.

Danzing Candy Colt Tops OBS Open Yearling Sale

Hip No. 632, a son of Danzing Candy consigned by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa McGreevy), Agent, went to Donato Lanni, Agent for $115,000 to top the open session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2020 October Yearling Sale.

The dark bay or brown colt is out of Bosserette, by Street Boss, a half sister to stakes winner Meditations.

Hip No. 702, a son of Declaration of War consigned by K P Sales, Agent, was sold to Mick Price Racing for $72,000. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Miss Prudence, by Discreetly Mine, a half-sister to stakes winner Annulment.
Hip No. 615, a daughter of Exaggerator consigned by Sennebec South Farm, went to Joseph Besecker for $62,000. The dark bay or brown filly, is out of stakes-placed Bazinga B, by Lion Hearted, from the family of champion Cash Deposit.
Hip No. 440, Kenner, a son of Laoban consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to de Meric Sales for $55,000. The bay colt is out of Mystery Mix, by Awesome Again, a daughter of graded stakes winner Lovely Lil.
Hip No. 458, a daughter of Lord Nelson also consigned by Sennebec South Farm, went to Afleet Equine, Agent for $52,000. The chestnut filly is out of stakes-placed Our Eponene, a half-sister to stakes winner Our Fantene.
JAL Racing / Jose A. Lopez paid $52,000 for Hip No. 517, a son of Uncaptured consigned by Whitman Sales LLC, Agent. The chestnut colt is out of Senza Fina, by City Zip, a daughter of stakes winner Ragtime Gal.

For the session, 260 yearlings sold for a total of $2,887,400, compared with 267 bringing a total of $3,356,400 a year ago. The average price was $11,105 compared with $12,571 in 2019, while the median price was $7,750 compared with $8,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 20.7 percent compared with 23.3 percent a year ago.

At Tuesday's Selected session, 91 horses sold for a total of $3,650,500, compared with 130 yearlings bringing $5,689,200 at the 2019 Selected Sale. The average price was $40,115 compared with $43,763 last year, while the median price was $28,000 compared with $30,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 32.6 percent; it was 30.1 percent in 2019.

Hip No. 149, a daughter of Not This Time consigned by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa McGreevy), Agent, went to Tonja Terranova, Agent for $225,000 to top Selected Sale of Yearlings. The dark bay or brown filly is out of Midnight Magic, by Midnight Lute, a half sister to graded stakes winner Coalport.

For the 2-year-olds and horses of racing age section, 30 horses sold for a total of $823,500, averaging $27,450 with a $15,500 median figure and an 18.9 percent buyback percentage.

Zedan Racing Stables, Inc. went to $155,000 for Hip No. 39, a son of Empire Maker consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, to top the October Sale's Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age section. The 2-year-old bay colt, whose quarter in :21 1/5 was co-fastest at the distance at the Under Tack Show, is a half brother to graded stakes winner Majestic River out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Tempus Fugit, by Alphabet Soup.

The next item on the OBS agenda is the 2020 OBS Day of Racing, set for Tuesday, Nov. 24. The next sale is the 2021 Winter Mixed Sale, including the Horses of Racing Age section, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 25-26.
