$610,000 Act Now, Dam Of Recent Winner Coach Prime, Tops Monday At Keeneland November Sale

Act Now, whose 2-year-old colt, Coach Prime, captured a maiden special weight race at Del Mar by 7 1/4 lengths three days ago, sold to Avenue Bloodstock for $610,000 to be the most expensive purchase of Monday's sixth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Consigned by Nardelli Sales, agent, the 8-year-old Act Now is a daughter of Street Sense who is in foal to City of Light. She also is the dam of multiple stakes-placed Dr Oseran. Out of the Bernardini mare Always Trouble, Act Now is from the family of Grade 1 winners Minardi and Joking and Grade 2 winners Tale of the Cat, Fed Biz and Red Carpet Ready.

Coach Prime sold for $1.7 million at Keeneland's 2022 September Yearling Sale.

With the purchase of Act Now, Avenue Bloodstock was the session's leading buyer.

On Monday, Keeneland sold 285 horses through the ring for $9,044,100, which dipped 5.76 percent from the sixth session last year when 246 horses brought $9,596,900. The average decreased 18.66 percent from $39,012 to $31,734, and the median of $23,000 is 23.33 percent lower than $30,000 last year.

Through six sessions of the nine-day auction, a total of 1,343 horses have sold through the ring for $163,792,100, for an average of $121,960 and a median of $65,000. The gross decreased 14.71 percent from $192,033,900 through the corresponding period last year, while the average is 18.26 percent below $149,210 in 2022 and the median is 15.58 percent lower than $77,000.

NAJD Stud acquired the session's highest-priced weanling by spending $155,000 for a colt by Vino Rosso consigned by Greenfield Farms, agent. Out of the winning Distorted Humor mare Celia's Song, he is from the family of Grade 2 winners Warbling and Mrs McDougal.

Dreams of You, a 3-year-old daughter of More Than Ready in foal to Maxfield, sold to Titletown Racing Stables for $130,000. Consigned by Godolphin, she is out of the winning Bernardini mare Dreamup and is from the family of Eclipse Award winners Folklore and Essential Quality and Japanese champion Contrail.

BT Stables paid $120,000 for Corey and Quinn, a 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo out of Canadian champion Youcan'tcatchme, by The Daddy. Consigned by Highgate Sales, agent, and cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect, she is from the family of multiple Grade 1 winner Princess of Sylmar.

A weanling filly by Midshipman sold to Clay Scherer, agent, for $110,000. Consigned by Legacy Bloodstock, agent for Hermitage Farm Foaled & Raised, she is the first foal out of Heartful, by Bandbox, and from the family of Grade 3 winners Majestic Reason and Hattiesburg.

Taylor Made Sales Agency was Monday's leading consignor with sales of $987,500 for 33 horses.

The November Breeding Stock Sale resumes Tuesday and runs through Thursday, with every session beginning at 10 a.m. ET.

On Friday, Keeneland will present the November Horses of Racing Age Sale. The auction starts at noon.

Texas 2-Year-Old Sale’s 2024 Edition To Be Held April 3

The 2024 Texas 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale will be held on April 3, 2024 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. The breeze show is scheduled for Monday, April 1, 2024.

“We're excited to follow up our solid 2023 sale with our 2024 edition of our Texas 2-Year-Old Sale,” TTA Sales Director Foster Bridwell said. “We continue to pursue quality offerings that create an attractive marketplace for our buyers in the region.”

Recent graduates include undefeated Strong Promise, now a three-time stakes winner who won the 2023 Texas Thoroughbred Association Filly Futurity, who is a graduate of the 2023 2-year-old sale from the Pike Racing consignment. And, the 2023 sales-topper, a Tapwrit filly also consigned by Pike Racing, now named Blue Squall, ran back-to-back game seconds at Churchill Downs in her first two starts.

“Our graduates are competing both locally and nationally and show the type of athletes our consignors have offered each year,” Bridewell said. “We're already working on putting together another solid catalog for our 2024 sale.”

The breeze show is set for Monday, April 1 on the Lone Star Park dirt, starting at 8 a.m. The sale will be held Wednesday, April 3 inside the sales pavilion, starting at 10 a.m.

Broodmare Taking Aim, In Foal To Jackie’s Warrior, Top Seller On Keeneland November Day 5

Taking Aim, dam of 2023 Saranac (G3) runner-up Taking Candy and in foal to champion Jackie's Warrior, sold to Dixiana Farms for $270,000 to highlight a solid day of trade during Sunday's fifth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

An 8-year-old mare by Trappe Shot out of Winning Call, by Deputy Minister, Taking Aim is a half-sister to 2012 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner and sire Tapizar. She was consigned by KatieRich Farms.

Rock Ridge Thoroughbreds paid the day's second-highest price of $250,000 for Charmingly, a 3-year-old daughter of Curlin in foal to Maclean's Music. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for STH LLC, Charmingly is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Complexity and a full sister to Grade 3 winner Valadorna. Her dam is the Yes It's True mare Goldfield.

On Sunday, Keeneland sold 251 horses through the ring for $15,875,500, which decreased 14.84% from $18,641,500 for 246 horses sold last year. The average of $63,249 was 16.53% lower than $75,778 last year, and the median of $50,000 declined 16.67% from $60,000.

Through five sessions of the nine-day November Breeding Stock Sale, 1,058 horses sold through the ring have grossed $154,748,000. The total is 15.18% below the same period in 2022 when Keeneland sold 1,041 horses for $182,437,000. The average of $146,265 is 16.54% lower than last year's $175,252, and the median decreased 20% from $100,000 to $80,000.

Two horses sold Sunday for $240,000 each.

Sheamus Mills Bloodstock purchased the first, Fire Island, a 5-year-old daughter of More Than Ready offered in foal to Palace Malice, from ELiTE, agent. Out of the Giant's Causeway mare Enchanted Rock, Fire Island is a full sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and sire Verrazano and a half-sister to Grade 2 winner El Padrino.

Also bringing $240,000 to be the session's top-priced weanling was a colt from the first crop of multiple Grade 1 winner Maxfield sold to Avocet Bloodstock. Indian Creek, agent, consigned the colt, who is out of the winning Speightstown mare In It for the Gold and from the family of stakes winner and Grade 1-placed All Due Respect.

ELiTE, agent, also consigned a weanling colt by Not This Time purchased by Boots Bloodstock for $230,000. Out of the winning Smart Strike mare Striking Impact, he is from the family of Grade 1 winner Competitionofideas and Grade 3 winner Devil by Design.

WinStar Farm paid $220,000 for the broodmare prospect Nalani, a 3-year-old daughter of Quality Road. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for Juddmonte, she is out of the Distorted Humor mare Color Me Flying and is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes-placed Colorful Mischief.

Dixiana Farms was the session's leading buyer, spending $420,000 for two horses.

Taylor Made Sales Agency led consignors with sales of $2,104,500 for 34 horses.

The November Breeding Stock Sale continues Monday and runs through Thursday, with every session beginning at 10 a.m. (ET).

Chameleon, In Foal To Practical Joke, Tops Keeneland November’s Day 4 At $425,000

Chameleon, a 4-year-old daughter of Candy Ride (ARG) in foal to Practical Joke, sold to Stoneway Farm for $425,000, the highest price of Saturday's fourth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Mt. Brilliant Farm, agent, consigned Chameleon, who is from the family of Grade/Group 1 winners Dunbar Road, Maria Candela (CHI), Miss Brio (CHI), and Secret Status. She is out of stakes winner Secret Someone, by A.P. Indy.

Stoneway Farm was the day's leading buyer, purchasing two horses for a total of $520,000.

On Saturday, Keeneland sold 243 horses through the ring for $15,012,500, for an average of $61,780 and a median of $50,000. The total declined 28.47% from $20,988,500 from the fourth session of the 2022 sale when 248 horses sold. The average was 27% lower than the $84,631 last year, while the median decreased 23.08% from $65,000.

Through four sessions, 807 horses have sold through the ring for $138,872,500, which was 15.22% lower than $163,795,500 for 795 horses last year. The average declined 16.48% from $206,032 to $172,085, and the median of $100,000 was 23.08% below $130,000.

Opening Act, a 3-year-old daughter of Ghostzapper who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Bast and is carrying a member of the first crop of two-time Breeders' Cup winner Golden Pal, sold to Nice Guy Stables for $290,000. Consigned by Legacy Bloodstock agent, Opening Act is out of the Arch mare Laffini and from the family of Grade 1 winners Fault and Juju's Map. On Oct. 6 at Keeneland, her 2-year-old half-sister, Royal Slipper, won her career debut by 4¾ lengths.

Dixiana Farms went to $235,000 to acquire stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Diamond Wow from the consignment of Grovendale Sales, agent. The 4-year-old filly is by Lookin At Lucky out of the stakes-winning Hat Trick (JPN) mare Patriotic Diamond, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Diamond Oops. She was offered as a broodmare prospect.

Legacy Bloodstock, agent, also consigned Saturday's top-priced weanling, a colt from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Yaupon purchased by Brownsboro Racing for $220,000. Out of stakes winner Cartwheelin Lulu, by Bustin Stones, he is from the family of Grade 1 winner Maracuja and Grade 2 winners Appealing Tale and Rockport Harbor.

Pearl Glory (IRE), a 4-year-old winning, stakes-placed daughter of Cotai Glory (GB) in foal to War of Will, sold for $210,000 to Sugarloaf Ltd. Consigned by Bluewater Sales, she is out of the Dalakhani mare Oatmeal and from the family of Group 1 winners Pure Grain and Fine Grain.

Another weanling colt by Yaupon sold to Cavalier B/S for $205,000. Consigned by Grovendale Sales, agent, he is the first foal out of the Quality Road mare Sunday Driver and from the family of Grade 2 winner and millionaire Skippylongstocking, who was third a week ago in the Big Ass Fans Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1).

Lane's End was the day's leading consignor, selling 31 horses for $1,487,000

The November Sale continues Sunday and runs through Thursday, Nov. 16, with all sessions beginning at 10 a.m. (ET).
