A half-sister to Dark Angel's celebrated sprinter Battaash (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) and dual group winner and G1 Middle Park S. runner-up The Antarctic (Ire), she faces six rivals and two previous winners on this keenly-anticipated bow.

NATIONAL INTEREST (GB) (Kingman {GB}) is an eyecatcher in this valuable Arqana Series Des Poulains for unraced colts and geldings who went through the ring at the Arqana Yearlings Sales in 2022 and the Breeze Up in May. Trained by William Haggas for Victorious Racing, the €800,000 Arqana August sensation is a half-brother to the GIII Franklin-Simpson S. winner and G2 Coventry S.-placed Guildsman  (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) from the family of the high-class Darjina (Fr) (Zamindar) and Almanzor (Fr).

Sky Bet Sunday Series Returns In 2023

Six meetings have been confirmed for the 2023 Sky Bet Sunday Series (SBSS), Sky Bet announced on Wednesday. Worth £1.2 million, the series is an industry-wide collaboration between ITV, Racecourse Media Group, and Sky Betting and Gaming, which will showcase the sport in a Sunday twilight slot on terrestrial television during the summer. The schedule for the 2023 Sky Bet Sunday Series is as follows:

  • Musselburgh, Apr. 30
  • Hamilton, May 14
  • Beverley, June 11
  • Pontefract, June 25
  • Haydock, Aug. 6
  • Sandown, Aug. 20

First Winner For Mondialiste At Beverley

Haras d'Annebault's first-season sire Mondialiste (Ire) (by Galileo {Ire}) was off the mark on Monday as Hester Prynne (GB) took the five-furlong Kiplingcotes Restricted Novice S. at Beverley. A 60,000gns Tattersalls December Foal Sale graduate who races for the sire's owners Geoff and Sandra Turnbull, the David O'Meara-trained filly was keen early in mid-division but had enough in reserve to deliver a withering effort and reel in Alaskan Jewel (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) close home for a length success at odds of 9-2.

The winner is a half-sister to the G2 Goldene Peitsche hero Donnerschlag (GB) (Bahamian Bounty {GB}), Hwt. Older Horse-Ger at 5-7f, MGSW-Ger, $162,665, to the G3 Round Tower S. third De Boss Man (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}), and to the Listed Prix Six Perfections winner Izzy Bizu (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}).
