Top Trainers Enter Lots For Next ThoroughBid Auction

Trainers Joseph O'Brien, Henry de Bromhead and Ralph Beckett are each set to be represented in the next auction on the ThoroughBid platform set for 22 July.

O'Brien has consigned four lots to the sale, including Zofast (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}), an unraced half-sister to a pair of multiple winners, as well as Flash Bulb (Ire) (Camelot {GB}), a latest third over 9 1/2 furlongs at Gowran Park June 12. Also in the Carriganog consignment is Cork maiden winner Ghasham (Ire) (Churchill {Ire}).

The Roger Brookhouse-owned and Henry de Bromhead-trained nine-year-old Arahecan (Ire) (Arakan), twice a winner over fences, is amongst the 13 lots, while this year's G1 Falmouth S. winning trainer Beckett brings two geldings to the party in Sweeping Statement (Ire) (Estidhkaar {Ire}) and Postmark (GB) (Postponed {Ire}). The former is a 4-year-old with an official rating of 76, while the latter is a 3-year-old winner having won on his latest start at Ffos Las at the beginning of the month.

Bidding will begin Friday 22 July from 9am.

OBS June Supplemental Catalog Available for 51 New Entries

The supplemental catalog for the upcoming OBS June Sale of 2-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age, featuring an additional 51 lots, is now available in printed form at the OBS sales grounds and online at obssales.com.

One horse of racing age and 50 juveniles have been supplemented to the three-day auction and will sell as hips 1061-1100 (2-year-olds) and 1167 (HORA).

Six under-tack sessions have been scheduled for the June Sale. Hips 1-187 will work Monday, May 30, hips 188-374 take to the track Tuesday May 31, hips 375-561 will breeze Wednesday, June 1, hips 562-748 go Thursday, June 2 and hips 749-935 breeze Friday, June 3. Hips 936-1060 plus supplements 1061-1110 and hips 1151-1166 plus supplement 1167 will go on Saturday, June 4. All under-tack sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.

OBS will once again make online bidding available for the June Sale.

The June Sale, to be held Tuesday through Thursday, June 7-9, and its under-tack previews will be streamed at the TDN homepage.

New British Record at Spring Sale Opener

The opening day of the 60th Goffs UK Spring Sale at Doncaster with saw a Ballincurrig House Stud-consigned son of Adlerflug (Ger) establish a new British record for a store sale with a top price of £200,000. Achieved on the occasion of the sale's diamond anniversary, Monday'ss top lot surpassed the previous record that has stood for 20 years.

The Adlerflug gelding (Lot 38) attracted an opening bid of £80,000 and subsequent salvos from around the ring before being knocked down to Henrietta Knight. The new British record surpassed the 185,000gns achieved by a Roselier 4-year-old gelding at the old DBS complex back in 2002, a price which stood as the world record at the time.

The third foal from the German listed-placed Inanya (Ger) (Areion {Ger}), the gelding is out of a half-sister to the dam of treble Group 1 winner Iquitos (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}).

A Walk In The Park (Ire) gelding offered by Worthen Hall Stables (Lot 127) achieved the third highest price in the Spring Sale's history when selling to Tom Malone and Paul Nicholls for £175,000. The bay is aa half-brother to the Listed winner and group-placed Didtheyleaveuoutto (Ire) (Presenting {GB}) and out of a half-sister to the legendary Denman (Ire) (Presenting {GB}.

Monday's average price of £32,224 just surpassed the record Day 1 figure achieved on the corresponding day last year while 19 lots made or surpassed the £50,000 mark.

The second and final day of the Spring Store Sale will commence Tuesday at 11am and all lots are eligible to enter for the new £100,000 Spring Sale Bumper, the world's richest bumper, which will be held next year at Newbury Mar. 25.

American Bloodlines Aplenty at Inglis Easter Sale

A total of 487 lots are cataloged for the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which takes place Tuesday and Wednesday, Apr. 5 and 6 at the company's Riverside Stables complex in Sydney. No fewer than 60 of the top Australasian and international dual-hemisphere stallions are represented in the catalog who are the sires of siblings to the likes of G1 Golden Slipper S. winners Estijaab (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}) and Mossfun (Aus) (Mossman {Aus}); the outstanding multiple group- and The Everest-winning sprinter Classique Legend (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}) and his Hong Kong Group 2-winning and Group 1-placed half-brother Aethero (Aus) (Sebring {Aus}); and former Horse of the Year in the latter jurisdiction, Beauty Generation (NZ) (Road to Rock {Aus}), to name only a few. Dual Grade II winner Gypsy Robin was purchased for $750,000 out of the 2013 Keeneland November Sale and has gone on to breed two winners from three to race, including 2019 Easter sale graduate Wild Ruler (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}), winner of the 2021 G1 A J Moir S. and recently retired to stud at Newgate Farm.

On behalf of Kia Ora Stud, Australian bloodstock agent James Bester paid $500,000 for GSW Heart Ashley at KEENOV in 2010 and the mare's five winners from as many to race include Easter grad Fiano Romano (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), a multiple winner at group level in Japan, and his Easter-sold Group 3-placed full-sister Ameristralia (Aus), whose daughter Ain't Easy (Into Mischief) won last year's GII Chandelier S. and was third in last month's GIII Santa Ysabel S. This is also the family of GISW and Coolmore stallion Cupid (Tapit), GSW Ashley's Kitty (Tale of the Cat) and the undefeated and GI Kentucky Oaks-bound Kathleen O. (Upstart).

Lot 343, f, More Than Ready–Peace Time, by War Front

The once-raced Peace Time is a 100% stakes producer from her first three foals, including 'TDN Rising Star' and GI Runhappy Travers S. runner-up Caracaro (Uncle Mo), the late stakes winner Xtremetime (Aus) (Extreme Choice {Aus}) and the stakes-placed Miss Hellfire (Aus) (Hellbent {Aus}). The Aug. 13 foal's second dam is Santa Catarina (Unbridled), three times Grade I-placed at two and runner-up to Bird Town (Cape Town) in the 2003 GI Kentucky Oaks prior to winning the GII Hollywood Breeders' Cup Oaks. More Than Ready is the sire of 854 Australian winners and 75 stakes winners.

A stakes winner and runner-up in the 2011 GI Frizette S., Stopshoppingmaria produced MGSW Always Shopping (Awesome Again) and SW/GSP Mo Shopping (Uncle Mo) before hammering for $290,000 at the 2018 KEENOV sale. A half-sister to MSW and MGSP Sand Ridge (Known Fact) and to the stakes-winning dam of GISW Zipessa (City Zip), Stopshoppingmaria is also the dam of the 2-year-old colt Torque Sensation (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro), who sold for A$110,000 at this event last year.
