Arqana Supports Breast Cancer Awareness at the October Yearling Sale

With October well-known as the month for Breast Cancer awareness, this year Arqana will partner with the François Baclesse Center, inviting all vendors/consigners to participate in a charitable challenge throughout the October Yearling Sale. Arqana will organize its own version of the 'Pink Walk' beginning Monday, Oct. 16 and continue through Friday, Oct. 20.

A limited edition of the Arqana cap will also be available for purchase (boutique, customer service and restaurant) at the price of 15€. All proceeds will be donated to the François Baclesse Center.

GSW Sibilia Spain Heads to Arqana December

G2 Prix du Muguet winner Sibila Spain (Ire) (Frankel {GB}-L'Ancresse {Ire}), by Darshaan {GB}) has been added to the Arqana December Vente d'Elevage and is set to go under the hammer during the first evening of the sale Saturday, Dec. 9 when consigned by Haras de l'Hôtellerie. A winner of the Listed Prix de Liancourt at three, the Christopher Head-trained mare finished fourth in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary and G1 Prix de Diane. In the spring of her 4-year-old campaign, she went on to take her first group win in the Prix du Muguet.

Offered carrying her first foal by Dubawi (Ire), the 5-year-old is out of the listed winning and G1 Irish Oaks runner-up L'Ancresse and a full-sister to group winner and G1 Ascot Gold Cup-placed Master of Reality (Ire). The well-bred mare hails from the family of Group 1 winners Cerulean Sky and Moonstone as well as Honolulu, Royal Bench, Mayhem, Memphis Tennessee and US Army Ranger.

The Arqana December Vente d'Élevage catalogue will be available Monday, Oct. 30 on www.arqana.com.

Classic Winner Channel, In Foal To Wootton Bassett, To Sell At Arqana’s Vente d’Elevage

La Motteraye Consignment will offer Classic heroine Channel (Ire) (Nathaniel {Ire}) during the Arqana Vente d'Elevage from Dec. 9-12.

A winner of the G1 Prix de Diane, the 7-year-old is a daughter of the G1 Cheveley Park S. winner Magical Romance (Ire) (Barathea {Ire}). Carrying to Wootton Bassett (GB), the daughter of Love Magic (GB) (Dansili {GB}) is also from the same line as standouts Alexandrova (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), Magic Wand (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), Chicquita (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}), Philomene (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Pacifique (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}). Her eldest foal is the 2-year-old filly Million Miles Away (Fr) (Sea The Stars {Ire}), while her yearling colt is by Kingman (GB) and she has a Wootton Bassett filly born this year.

Bred by Kilcarn Stud, the €18,000 Goffs Orby yearling turned €70,000 Arqana May juvenile won half of her six starts and over $670,000 for Francis-Henri Graffard and Samuel de Barros.

Place Du Carrousel To Sell At Arqana’s Vente d’Élevage

G1 Prix de l'Opera winner Place Du Carrousel (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) will go under the hammer at Arqana's Vente d'Elevage sale in December.

She will be offered by Haras de Bouquetot and boasts a fantastic race record that features G2 Prix Foy success and a pair of Group 3 wins.

Place Du Carrousel accounted for Group 1 winners Nashwa (GB) (Frankel {GB}) and Above The Curve (American Pharoah) when landing the Prix de l'Opera.

The 112-rated Place Du Carrousel is out of Group 2 winner Traffic Jam (Ire) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) and from the family of numerous Group 1 scorers including Lillie Langtry (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire})–through her, Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and that one's full-sister, GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Tuesday (Ire); and G1 Cape Guineas victor Russian Rock (Saf) (Pomodoro {SAf}).
