Lady Day A Late Entry For Arc Sale

The well-related  listed Prix la Sorellina winner Lady Day (Fr) (Motivator {GB}) is one of two 3-year-olds to have been added to the Arqana Arc Sale as wildcards.

Owned by Ecurie Rose de Ganay, the Freddy Head trainee, who will be sold as lot 15, boasts a top-drawer pedigree: her dam Toride (Fr) (Fuisse) is a half-sister to the dual Arc winner Treve (Fr), who, like Lady Day, is also a daughter of the Haras du Quesnay stallion Motivator.

Also joining the 40-strong line-up for the sale at Saint-Cloud on Saturday, Oct. 2, is Bran (Fr) (Muhaarar {GB}), the winner of his last two outings over 1,400m for owner Cuadra Miranda and trainer Mauricio Delcher Sanchez. Rated 97, Bran hails from the family of Machiavellian and Coup de Genie and will be offered as lot 10.

Lena Goedde Wins Best Turned Out Horse Challenge at Arc Sale

Arqana has awarded Lena Goedde with first prize of €500 for the best turned out horse at last week’s The Arc Sale. Goedde looked after Virginia Joy (Ger) (Soldier Hollow {GB}) on behalf of Gestut Auenquelle. Laura Delage, who earned €350 as the runner-up, was responsible for Dick Whittington (Fr) (War Command) for Yann Barberot’s Stable, while Lea Winzenrieth came in third, collecting €150 for Hercule Point (Ire) (Network {Fr}).
All horses were inspected at the sale and a jury rated the quality of their presentation according to the following criteria:
• Availability: each horse must be visible at any time of the day.
• The quality of the presentation: the horse must stand and walk in a straight line with an energetic step.
• The care of the presentation: this criterion concerns both the horse and the person presenting it.
