America’s Day At The Races Adds Canterbury Park Action To Weekend’s Broadcast

America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national telecast produced by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) in partnership with FOX Sports, will air 21 hours of coverage Thursday through Sunday, with action from Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Canterbury Park.

Presented by America's Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, America's Day at the Races will broadcast live racing action this week, with at least four-and-a-half hours of coverage every day on FS2.

Thursday will feature a nine-race card at Belmont with a first post of 3:05 p.m. Eastern, with FS2 airing from 3-8:30 p.m. Among the highlights from the Elmont, New York-based track will be a turf contest for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up going 1 1/16 miles on the Widener course in Race 8. Star Devine, the 5-2 morning-line favorite for trainer Jorge Abreu, will be part of a nine-horse field that includes 7-2 Stolen Holiday, trained by Hall of Famer Shug McGaughey.

Thursday's broadcast will also feature the full eight-race card from Churchill, located in Louisville, Kentucky, featuring a 5 p.m. Eastern first post with the finale going off at 8:23 p.m. The broadcast will be bolstered with additional racing action from Canterbury Park located in Shakopee, Minnesota.

Friday's show will air the majority of Belmont's nine-race docket that has a 1 p.m. first post. In Race 2, a $90,000 six-furlong inner turf sprint for 2-year-old fillies, 5-2 favorite Kodama, who ran second in her debut on May 28 for trainer Christophe Clement, will look to earn her first winner's circle trip, competing as part of an eight-horse field that includes 7-2 Pammy's Ready.

Saturday will see a pair of New York Stallion Series Stakes at Belmont, with the $150,000 Cupecoy's Joy for 3-year-old fillies going seven furlongs on the Widener turf in Race 6 and the $150,000 Spectacular Bid for sophomores also going seven furlongs on the turf course in Race 9.

At Churchill, the lone stakes on the card will be the $110,000 Roxelana for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up going 6 1/2 furlongs.

Presented by America's Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, America's Day at the Races will broadcast live racing action this week, with at least three hours of coverage every day on FOX Sports 2.

Friday's show will air the entire nine-race Belmont card, encompassing a 6 1/2-furlong main track sprint for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up in an allowance optional claiming tilt in Race 7. Don't Call Me Mary, conditioned by Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, will look to win her second consecutive start and is listed as the 2-1 favorite. The entirety of Churchill's nine-race program will also be shown.

Saturday will see the final two races on the 10-race Belmont card air on America's Day at the Races, while the first five races from Churchill, running its Downs After Dark program, will also be shown.

America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national telecast produced by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) in partnership with FOX Sports, will air 25 hours of coverage Thursday through Tuesday, with stakes action from Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Santa Anita Park.

Churchill's packed Saturday card will feature the Grade 3, $125,000 Matt Winn for 3-year-olds going 1 1/16 miles; the Grade 3, $125,000 Regret for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles on the turf; the $125,000 Aristides for 4-year-olds and up sprinting six furlongs; the $125,000 Blame for 4-year-olds and up going 1 1/8 miles; the $125,000 Shawnee for fillies and mares 4-years-old and up contested at 1 1/16 miles; the $100,000 Audubon for sophomores going 1 1/8 miles on the turf; and the $100,000 Douglas Park for 4-year-olds and up.

Sunday will see the $100,000 Paradise Creek for sophomores competing at seven furlongs on the Belmont turf.

A special Memorial Day Monday card at Belmont will feature New York Breeders' Showcase Day, offering six stakes races for New York-breds. A pair of $200,000 races – the Commentator for 3-year-olds and up going one mile and the Critical Eye for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up going the same distance, highlight the card. Other stakes for state-breds will include the $125,000 Mike Lee for sophomores going seven furlongs; the $125,000 Mount Vernon for older fillies and mares at one mile on the turf; he $125,000 Kingston for 4-year-olds and up on the turf; and the $125,000 Bouwerie for sophomore fillies going seven furlongs.

Monday's telecast will also feature live coverage of a trio of graded stakes from Santa Anita Park, including the Grade 1, $300,000 Shoemaker Mile on the turf for 3-year-olds and up; the Grade 1, $300,000 Gamely at nine furlongs on the turf for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up; and the Grade 3 Hollywood Gold Cup at 1 1/4-miles for 3-year-olds and up.

Tuesday's half-hour show will air the draw for the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets, the third leg of the Triple Crown known as the “Test of the Champion” for its famed 1 1/2-mile distance. Among the expected entrants for the American Classic is Grade 1 Preakness-winner Rombauer, Eclipse Award-champion 2-year-old Essential Quality and Grade 2 Louisiana Derby-winner Hot Rod Charlie. The draw will take place from Belmont Park.
