Medaglia d’Oro’s Our Pretty Woman Stays Unbeaten in Fair Grounds Slop

5th-Fair Grounds, $65,000, Alw, 2-17, (NW2L), 3yo, f, 1 1/16m, 1:45.03, sy, 4 1/4 lengths.

OUR PRETTY WOMAN (f, 3, Medaglia d'Oro–Dazzletown, by Speightstown) debuted in the slop Jan. 18 over this track in a driving 3 1/4-length win at a mile and 70 yards. The $900,000 Keeneland September buy duplicated that debut Saturday in nearly a carbon copy effort of that initial win to remain unbeaten in two tries. Breaking from the outside spot as the 9-5 choice, Our Pretty Woman cleared the field and angled to the rail to set a :24.39 first quarter with ears flicking back and forth while Joel Rosario kept her on a loose rein. Unthreatened while posting a :48.95 half, the dark bay sophomore repulsed a mild challenge on the turn, was briefly roused by Rosario into the lane, and sauntered home a clear 4 1/4-length winner over Standoutsensation (Take Charge Indy). The winner's dam hails from the same family as two-time Canadian champion Roxy Gap (Indian Charlie) and has a 2-year-old colt by Bolt d'Oro who sold to Mayberry Farm for $270,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale. Dazzletown has a yearling colt by Yaupon and visited Authentic for 2024. Sales History: $900,000 Ylg '22 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $70,200. ‘Rising Star’ Extra Anejo Back on Track at Ellis

3rd-Ellis, $127,000, Alw (NW1X)/Opt. Clm ($100,000), 6-10, 3yo, 1m, 1:34.88, ft, 6 1/4 lengths.

EXTRA ANEJO (c, 3, Into Mischief–Superioritycomplex {Ire}, by Hard Spun), super on 'TDN Rising Star' debut last October when decimating a Keeneland maiden by 9 1/2 lengths and registering a 92 Beyer Speed Figure, spent the next several months on the bench before reappearing in an optional allowance on Derby Day at Churchill. He broke slowly and may have been a little rusty that day as he was fanned wide and closed late for a length runner-up finish to Federal Judge (Army Mule), who went on to be fourth Saturday in the GI Woody Stephens S. at Belmont Park. A more polished version of Extra Anejo went to post Saturday as the 2-5 choice tracked in second behind fractions of :22.78 and :45.10, reeled in the loose-on-the-lead frontrunner on the turn, and drove clear in a powerhouse performance to cross the line 6 1/2 lengths the best while geared down under Brian Hernandez, Jr. Tall Boy (Lookin At Lucky) chased him home in second with third-place finisher Classic Legacy (Into Mischief) another 17 lengths in arrears. A $1.35-million Keeneland yearling, Extra Anejo has a yearling half-brother by Tapit. The winner's dam, a 2017 Tattersalls December Mixed Sale purchase for 400,000gns by Mt. Brilliant Farm, is a granddaughter of G1 Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks victress Hellenic (Ire) (Darshaan {GB}). Hailing from the same family as English champion Islington (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), Superioritycomplex lost her 2023 foal. Sales History: $1,350,000 Ylg '21 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 3-2-1-0, $157,185. Mastery Filly Dazzles at Laurel

7th-Laurel, $54,810, Alw (NW1X)/Opt. Clm ($50,000-$62,500), 4-29, 3yo, f, 7f, 1:24.47, gd, 10 1/4 lengths.

GOODGIRL BADHABITS (f, 3, Mastery–Dazzler, by Vindication), in a near carbon copy of her Mar. 10 debut over this surface, remained undefeated and proved a handy, open-daylight winner. The 1-5 choice swerved right at the break but shot immediately to the front and never let anyone close as she established a comfortable pace. After a first quarter in :23.18, a half in :46.53, and with her ears flicking on the turn, Goodgirl Badhabits kept rolling in the stretch as rider Jevian Toledo took a peek under his arm at the competition. There was none. He gave only the mildest of encouragement through the stretch to the dark bay as she cantered home a 10 1/4-length victress in the easiest of wins. Major Houlihan (Army Mule) finished best of the rest.

Goodgirl Badhabits broke her maiden last month, recovering from a bobbled break to set all the pace and power home 12 3/4 lengths the best at 5 1/2 furlongs. From the same extended family as champion and blue hen Serena's Song (Rahy), the winner is a half to Dazzling Gem (Misremembered), SW-PR, MGSP-USA, $508,303. Her dam has a 2-year-old filly by Palace Malice, who sold for $190,000 to Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners at this week's OBS Spring sale, and a yearling filly by Global Campaign. She was bred to Knicks Go for this spring. Sales History: $135,000 Ylg '21 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $63,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by TVG.
