Preakness Winner War Of Will To Stand For $25,000 In Debut Season At Stud

Dual-surface star War of Will will stand for $25,000 LFSN in 2021, Claiborne Farm announced Nov. 9th. He will be available for inspection Wednesday afternoon Nov. 11.

The son of internationally-acclaimed sire War Front, War of Will captured the 2019 Preakness Stakes to become a classic winner on dirt. This year, he added a Grade 1 victory on turf to his record when he captured the G1 Maker's Mark Mile Stakes at Keeneland.

The 4-year-old War of Will retired with career earnings of $1,881,803 and four graded stakes wins for trainer Mark Casse and owner Gary Barber.

In addition to his two Grade 1 victories, War of Will also won the G2 Risen Star Stakes, G3 LeComte Stakes, and placed in the G1 Summer Stakes, G1 Pennsylvania Derby, and G1 Woodbine Mile Stakes.

Win Win Win To Stand At Ocala Stud In Florida For 2021

Win Win Win, the impressive winner of the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga in his last start, will stand the 2021 breeding season at Ocala Stud.

The Live Oak Stud homebred will stand as the property of a partnership between Live Oak Stud, Airdrie Stud, and Ocala Stud, and his fee has been set at $5,000 S&N.

“We are very excited to add Win Win Win to our roster,” said Ocala Stud's David O'Farrell. “He's a big, grand-looking horse with a lot of presence. His record-setting speed, versatility, and classic bloodline which consists of three Kentucky Derby winners give Win Win Win a great opportunity to become a top sire.”

Trained by Michael Trombetta, Win Win Win lived up to his name on the racetrack. He captured five of his 12 starts and placed in four others en route to earnings of $601,600. Win Win Win concluded his accomplished racing career on a high note, finishing with a flourish to take down top prize in the G1 Forego. In showcasing his impressive turn of foot, he won the seven-furlong event in 1:21.71, defeating four Grade 1 winners, including Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile favorite Complexity.

Last season at three, Win Win Win set a new track record at Tampa Bay Downs in winning the Pasco Stakes, an early prep for the G2 Tampa Bay Derby in his sophomore bow. He drew off powerfully in the seven-furlong test, speeding to a 7 1/4-length score in the stakes and track-record time of 1:20.89, earning a 2 on the Ragozin Sheets.

Demonstrating his versatility, Win Win Win also took down the Manila Stakes at one mile on turf at Belmont Park, polishing off the distance in 1:31.56, just one-fifth of a second off the course record set by Oscar Performance. Prior to that impressive score, Win Win Win finished second to multiple Grade 1 winner Vekoma in the G2 Blue Grass Stakes.

A precocious juvenile, Win Win Win won two of his three starts as a 2-year-old, taking a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Laurel Park in his career debut before crushing allowance foes by 6 1/2 lengths in a lively 1:02.30 for 5 1/2 furlongs in his next start. He also finished second in the seven-furlong Heft Stakes at Laurel to close out his juvenile campaign.

Classically bred with record-setting speed, Win Win Win, by champion miler and Grade 1 winner Hat Trick (JPN), hails from a deep Live Oak family. A descendant of the Halo sire line—his grandsire is Sunday Silence—Win Win Win is out of a stout female family. His dam is the winning Smarty Jones mare Miss Smarty Pants, a half-sister to Graded stakes winner and multiple Graded stakes-placed Unbridled Humor produced from the stakes-winning and Graded stakes-placed Unbridled mare Devotion Unbridled.

Lookin At Lee To Enter Stud At Irish Hill And Dutchess Views Stallions In New York

Lookin At Lee (2014 Lookin At Lucky x Langara Lass), a multiple Grade 1-placed black type winner and popular runner-up in the 2017 Kentucky Derby, has been retired from racing and will stand his first season at stud in 2021 under the management of Irish Hill and Dutchess Views Stallions LLC in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The precocious Lookin At Lee broke his maiden in his second start at two and went on to earn his first black type win in the Ellis Park Juvenile Stakes. He then jumped directly into graded competition, finishing second to Not This Time in the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes and to unanimous 2-year-old champion, Classic Empire in the G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity. In his final start as a 2-year old, he was fourth in the Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Lookin At Lee's impressive 2-year-old season catapulted him onto the Triple Crown trail in 2017. He earned his way into the Kentucky Derby starting gate by placing in two Oaklawn Park preps: The G3 Southwest Stakes and the G1 Arkansas Derby.

In the Kentucky Derby, he would come from far back to rally past all but Always Dreaming to earn second in America's most prestigious race. Lookin At Lee went on to compete in each leg of the Triple Crown (one of only eight horses to do so in the last five years), finishing fourth in the Preakness Stakes (G1). He competed against the best of his generation and proved durable, running in eight graded stakes in five months and amassing $1.3 million in career earnings.

Trainer Steve Asmussen said, “Lookin At Lee was a precocious 2-year old with an excellent disposition that brought his connections on a thrilling journey through the Triple Crown races. I'm looking forward to seeing his foals”.

The son of leading national sire Lookin At Lucky will stand his initial season for $6,500 LFSN.

Lookin At Lucky is one of the best sons of Smart Strike, sire of Curlin, and bred on the similar Mr. Prospector/Danzig line as Distorted Humor. Sons of Lookin at Lucky are now taking on the role of stallion including Accelerate and Country House. Lookin At Lee is out of the graded stakes placed and multiple graded stakes producing Langfuhr mare, Langara Lass. He is the half-brother to multiple Grade 3 winner Blended Citizen and half-brother to Grade 1 placed, Battlefield Angel, dam of 2020 Breeders' Cup Sprint participant Manny Wah.

Multiple Graded Winner Yorkton Retired To Crestwood Farm

Yorkton, a multiple graded stakes winner by top-class sire Speightstown, will enter stud at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm in 2021. He will stand his first year at stud for $5,000 LF, and breeders will be offered a $1-million breeders' incentive program.

Bred and raced by Chiefswood Stables, Limited, Robert Krembil said, “Yorkton comes from an elite family of Grade 1 winners, champions and sires. Yorkton showed superior athleticism and brilliant speed during his racing career, winning at distances from [six furlongs] to a mile. Chiefswood Stables is committing a significant number of our well-bred broodmares to Yorkton and look forward to giving him every chance to succeed.”

Yorkton's trainer, Stuart Simon remarked, “Yorkton was a classy and versatile horse to train. He possessed brilliant speed which carried him to graded stakes wins and placings on three different surfaces.”

Yorkton displayed precocity, front running speed, durability and class. He broke his maiden at two, and won stakes races at three, four, and five. Yorkton's career included stakes victories from 6 1/2 furlongs and up to a mile, with a career top Beyer Speed Figure of 103. Yorkton won or placed in 10 stakes races, with earnings of $546,332.
