There were no winning tickets in Friday's Stronach 5, which means there will be a carryover Friday, March 12 of $154,931.
The Stronach 5, which features an industry-low 12-percent takeout, featured races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields. There were no winning favorites. The lowest payoff in Friday's Stronach 5 was $13.40. The highest was $43.20.
The sequence began with the 9-1 shot Valued Notion ($20.40) winning Race 8 at Laurel for Hillwood Stable LLC and trainer Rodney Jenkins. The prices kept coming in the second leg of the sequence when 11-1 shot Serenade a Kitten ($24.60) got up in deep stretch for trainer Mary Eppler.
The Stronach 5 headed west to Santa Anita Park for the third leg of the sequence. Santa Anita's third race, a maiden special weight event for 3-year-olds colts, was won by another longshot in Twin Creeks Racing Stables LLC's Law Professor ($43.20), a 20-1 longshot making his second start for trainer Michael McCarthy. Golden Gate's third race was next and, yes, the race resulted in another longshot in the 12-1 shot Foragoodtimecall ($26.80).
The Stronach 5 concluded with Gulfstream's ninth race and Toffen ($13.40) winning under jockey Joe Bravo.

If a change in racing surface is made after the wagering closes, each selection on any ticket will be considered a winning selection. If a betting interest is scratched, that selection will be substituted with the favorite in the win pool when wagering closes.
