One day in front of the two-day Breeders' Cup World Championships at Santa Anita, one lucky ticket isolated all six winners in Thursday's $1 Pick Six, returning $51,732.50. There were 49 consolation winners with five wins, with each ticket returning $452.40.
The winning singleton was purchased for just one dollar through a Hunt Valley, MD wagering hub.
Thursday's Pick Six was comprised of races three through eight. The winning numbers and prices were as follows: R3, #7 ($9.40); R4, #3, ($7.60); R5, #7, ($8.20); R6, #1, ($6.60); R7, #5, ($12.00) and R8, #5 ($10.20).
Ridden by Armando Ayuso, Blessed Angel steamed home to win Thursday's eighth race by 3 ¾ lengths and was the second choice in the wagering at 4-1 in a field of seven.
Hosted by Santa Anita for a record 11th time, the 40th annual Breeders' Cup World Championships will be run on Friday and Saturday, with first post time for a 10-race card at 11:30 a.m. PT. Admission gates will open on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
