The catalog for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2024 Winter Mixed Sale is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. The two-day sale is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 23 and 24. The catalog cover features C2 Racing Stable LLC and La Milagrosa Stable, LLC's Breeders' Cup Classic winner and Horse of the Year candidate White Abarrio. The 4-year-old colt by Race Day, trained by Rick Dutrow, is a four-time graded stakes winner, compiling a 15-7-1-3 career record and $4,946,350 in earnings. A two-time OBS graduate, he was sold by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, at the 2020 Winter Mixed Sale and then purchased by Carlos L. Perez out of the Nice and Easy Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2021 March Sale. After winning his first start impressively, he was sold privately to his current connections
The sale begins on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at noon with Hip No.'s 1 – 122 plus supplements cataloged in the Consignor Preferred Session. The Horses of Racing Session, cataloged as Hip No.'s 201 – 265 plus supplements, begins immediately following the conclusion of the Preferred Session. The Open Session, with Hip No.'s 401 – 643 plus supplements cataloged, is set for Wednesday, Jan. 24 and will also begin at noon.
The Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age Section is set for Monday, Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and PastTheWire websites.
There are 248 yearlings cataloged by a diverse group of proven and promising sires. Army Mule, Audible, Blame, Bolt d'Oro, Candy Ride (ARG), City of Light, Classic Empire, Connect, Complexity, Dialed In, Flameaway, Frosted, Game Winner, Girvin, Global Campaign, Goldencents, Gunnevera, Khozan, Maximus Mischief, Mendelssohn, Midshipman, Mitole, More Than Ready, Not This Time, Omaha Beach, Practical Joke, Solomini, Spun to Run, St Patrick's Day, Tiz the Law, Vekoma, Vino Rosso, Volatile and Win Win Win are represented.
First crop sires with yearlings include Beau Liam, By My Standards, Charlatan, Independence Hall, Known Agenda, Leinster, Lexitonian, Modernist, Raging Bull (FR), Rock Your World, Silver State, Uncle Chuck, and Yaupon.
