Following a successful debut of its digital platform earlier this week, Fasig-Tipton has finalized dates for a second digital auction to be held next month. Nominations are now open for the April Digital Selected Sale, which will be held this coming April 21-26.
Similar to its recently concluded March Digital Selected Sale, Fasig-Tipton is seeking quality horses of racing age and breeding stock for the April digital auction. Nominations will close April 14, although the company will still accept approved selected nominations after that date.
“We were very pleased with the debut of our digital platform earlier this week,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton's Director of Digital Sales. “We received positive feedback from both buyers and sellers about both the platform and quality of offerings. They conveyed to us their desire to see more Fasig Digital auctions in the near term, which was highly encouraging.”
Aaron added: “We also received a number of helpful suggestions on how to improve the platform, adjustments that will be implemented for this upcoming April auction.”
Fasig-Tipton's March Digital Selected Sale concluded this past Tuesday with strong results. Ten offerings sold for gross sales of $856,000, an average price of $85,600, and a median price of $55,000. The sale was topped by a stallion share in European Champion Almanzor (FR), which sold for $250,000 to Riviera Equine SARL/Haras d'Etreham. Racing/broodmare prospect Bramble Berry, a 5-year-old mare that entered the sale off a second-place finish in Gulfstream's Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes on March 12, was the second highest price. She sold for $150,000 to Kicourt LLC (Kiki Courtelis).
Suchada – offered in foal to Horse of the Year Knicks Go on a 2022 covering – was the top priced broodmare, selling for $95,000 to Matt Montgomery. Wild Empress, a 4-year-old half-sister to champion She Be Wild, was the highest price broodmare prospect. She sold for $85,000 to Robert Slack's Stoneriggs Farm.
