The Indiana Thoroughbred Owner's and Breeder's Association is pleased to announce that the catalog for the ITOBA Fall Mixed Sale is now online with a total of 79 head, including 64 yearlings, one weanling, nine horses of racing age and five broodmares, all in foal.
Normally held at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino, this auction instead will be conducted at the nearby Smith Training Stables located at 8296 N. Michigan Road in Fountaintown, Ind. The sale is set for Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. and it will be run by Duane Swingley Auctioneers.
The majority of racing stock in the sale are Indiana-breds, with many also being Indiana-sired, making them eligible for the lucrative Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Program. Many leading Indiana stallions are represented, as well as top regional and national sires.
ITOBA has partnered with American Racehorse magazine to help promote the sale on social media, and in the coming weeks each hip will be individually profiled, with photos included when available. Updates will be posted on ITOBA's Facebook page and Twitter feed at @IndianaTOBA.
“We are very pleased with the quality of this catalog, and we think it offers something for just about anyone looking to breed or race in Indiana,” said ITOBA President Bruce Murphy. “There are so many opportunities for Indiana-bred and Indiana-sired horses at all levels, plus many in this sale are also eligible to be nominated to the ITOBA Stallion Season Auction Stakes.”
